What's the sand like for surfing? Is there coral or rocks that you could cut your feet one? Do people ever wear water shoes/booties?

As a person who has surfed for decades, and taught friends. If you did not put your camera away, that would annoy Me. If you did, and He was still short with you, well, He was probably not happy there was not a female in the group to try to hassle. Or maybe his need for coke made him impatient. He should have been pushing your board from behind to get you into waves. Cheers. Try again...!!!

Surf lesson # 1... don't try to film while paddling into a wave with one arm. You need 2! If i was the instructor, I'd be a bit annoyed also.
