Any tips for the 1.5 mile and sit-ups. ??
I have fond memories of my time at Cosford in 2002. Great to see you still using some of the training equipment we had! All the best for an exciting and rewarding career.
God Bless the Airman & Air Woman Abundantly
Application filled in yesterday! Hoping all goes well. :D
@@eliotking2455 is this still the case?
@@joshtinkler8191 It's now a priority role so not such a long waiting list. I am waiting for a start date now
@@BiGjD20 ah nice one, well done you! i’m going to reapply for the role in 2 months, just started getting ready for the airman tests and that, hopefully the role will still be open then
This is wicked, im excited
This is very informative. I really wish I could join you guys.
Good enviroment and facility, really jealous..
My goodness. I was looking at engineering apprenticeships today!
I might do an apprenticeship in hospitality or a firefighter if I can do my maths and English gcse in the RAF
Currently waiting for AST which is July 28th
Damn, can't wait to go for my interview after this lockdown has ended.
Lmao same, I have mine this week
@@Marchy22 What date? I have mine on the 13th
Robert Cass how long did it take after applying for them to get back to you?
@@josephnyoni7406 About 1 or 2 months , but considering Covid-19 it might take 3-4 months.
Joseph Nyoni I applied in February and I was given an interview date for the 21st April which was cancelled cause of covid
Pleased to see a return of the grey/blue overalls. The green ones we had made you look like a gherkin.
There still plenty of pickles, whatever stores can dredge out for you 😂
Do we make our own meals or is it mess meals again for all meals!
Okay this, this I want to do
I am currently studying level 2 aerospace engineering anybody have any advice to join as an apprentice when I'm 17 or do a level 3 aerospace engineering instead and then join when I am 18
Hi
You'll need to meet the entry requirements of whichever role you wish to apply for. It depends on you when you apply, that decision is up to you. You will gain the apprenticeship as part of the phase two training, so you'll be paid to get the one in service.
RAF Recruitment
Do you need to have any experience with this kind of stuff to do a trade with it
Hi
No, we train everyone from scratch. You just need to meet the entry requirements listed on the role page on the RAF Recruitment website to be able to submit an application and pass all stages of the application process.
RAF Recruitment
So are they duel trade appos. Airframes and engines
Hi
You gain the apprenticeship as part of the phase two training. So you will gain the apprenticeship for the role you're in, not one for two roles.
Kind regards
RAF Recruitment
Had a look at the the role on the RAF site but due to high demand it can take a minimum of 18 months to get in :(
is this still the case?
@@joshtinkler8191 I don't think so. just did my AST and selection interview and my recruiter told me they are in need of engineers currently. Might be a great time to apply if you want to get in!
@@asilk1034 ahh good to hear, going to apply in 2 months, just started preparing for the ast and interviews
@@asilk1034 what kind of things are on the ast test. is there a mock version
@@kianbawden8459 can’t remember mate. I start my brtc in the summer as i have a date now.
Just keep doing the ast on the website and study/ practice the things you have scored low on. Thats what i did and got my dream role.
im really gutted il never be able to join with a bowel problem. always fancied it.
Hi
Im currently doing my Aircraft Engineering Degree at Uni , Can I join the RAF after the completion of my course ?
Thanks
Ray
With a degree you can apply for an engineering officer but if you want a more hands on role then you'd want to apply for a non commissioned role
Marching with no arms swinging??
You don't swing your arms wearing a backpack
Im 20 and wanted to join RAF but il never pass the fitness requirements due to bad health. 😡
youtube David Goggins mate, buy his book. Overcome your health issues you can do anything you put your mind to. You can't control shit except your state of mind.
Same I’m 18 and want to join RAF or navy but due to migraines atm I can’t but luckily I might have a chance as my family’s did calm down to the point of non at all
Everything other than the theoretical stuff you have to do in a classroom looks promising
There is a LOT of theory involved in the job. You won't start working on the aircraft at Cosford for around 7 months, and the theory continues after you do start.
