  • A large scale engineered sandstone retaining wall completed for a rural property experiencing previous issues of poor drainage and erosion with their drive way. This custom creation was constructed with a rereinforced concrete footing, complete with a V-drain to divert water to the properties main dam. This particular wall was completed with A grade 1m x 500 x 500 sandstone blocks. The client requested an unbolstered finish which creates a rustic natural look to fit in with the existing rural landscape.

What’s the big grapple you’re using to lift the blocks?

I love the look of Sandstone but my question is regards to using the blocks to build an actual house. Obviously they would need to be secured together but the insulative quality and strength would be awesome. In addition to the look and strength the longevity would be insane. no wind will topple it. foundations would need to be extensive to support the weight but other than that I would assume would be acceptable.

The sheer weight and friction of the blocks is enough to hold them.
