    Love the Enyaq. Definitely better looking than ID 4, KiA, Ioniq or even Tesla Y. Maybe a notch below the Mach E and definitely not as atractive as Audi's EV SUV. But where Enyaq beats everybody is the value. Price is extremely reasonable. Even the entry level model looks decent and has a lot of equipment. I would skip on those 21" wheels probably. They look good but the ride is harsh and tires cost an arm and a leg.

    Nice review. Thank you.
    The charge cable stored under the boot space is actually really dumb, but lot of EV's go this way for some reason. It assumes the boot is empty, but then why would you buy an SUV, and go on a long journey with nothing in the boot (covering this hatch!) Cable should be stored in a side pocket I would think.

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  Рік тому

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed the review! As for the underfloor compartment - it saves cables being flown around in the boot, and as the side compartments are usually a little small, the underfloor area is a great place to put them.

    Been having your channel recommended to me by UA-cam for a couple of weeks now, so today I gave in and watched your video excellent job + new subscriber! On the extras issue considering how much extra they are charging for EV’s over ICE would it hurt to add in a few extras for free like an electric tailgate? also £400 for a couple of picnic tables is ridiculous, also does any of the extras get added on a higher spec model for “free”?

    When you have to add £7000 of extras to get a decent spec that would cost about half based on the individual costs only for the items wanted. The problems of VW group cars is the linked extras where you have to get something you don't want or need but have to be included. Is this a way to make the car more attractive for the dealer forecourt second hand market at the end of the PCP plan. Why not just put them as an accessory package as that is what you are having to purchase. Don't even start on the ridiculous oversized wheels with the rubber band tyres.

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  3 роки тому

      Absolutely agreed on the options there; some of them don't make sense.

  • @Richard-io9xe
    @Richard-io9xe 3 роки тому +3

    Very much like the look of this car and side by side, I think it outshines the ID.4. My problem with it is the several yards long options list. It seems that for your 33k base list price you get 4 wheels, a battery, a motor and a body shell. If you want a battery that is similar to other cars in its segment the start price for your shell is 39k. Then start adding options - and everything else is an option. So by the time you spec it up to a level that is comparable to other cars it competes with, you have added another 8 - 10k and suddenly it looks very expensive. Nice as it is, I'd rather have a Kia EV6, that's next generation. For similar money.

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  3 роки тому

      Totally agree with you in terms of the options, it's quite ridiculous. But still, without everything added on, and as the bigger battery iV 80 - you have to consider you're getting a bigger boot and longer range than most EVs on the market.

      @Mikkis2010 2 роки тому

      @@TotallyEV Hi and thanks for the thorough review. It is perhaps because english is not my native language but I still dont quite understand why it is ”ridiculous” to spend more money on options (design packages)? I do understand that Skoda Enyaq with all the options is quite expensive car but so are the other cars too with similar level of options. Audi Q4 etron for instance… okay it is Audi but where is the actual difference?

  • @XENONEZZ2
    @XENONEZZ2 3 роки тому +1

    Another great in depth review...Regards the grille I agree but choosing a colour that blended in with it rather than highlighted would be the remedy there I think.
    For sure the options that I would personally want make this a very expensive car indeed....especially as you rightly pointed out compared to say the brilliantly equipped Kia Soul EV which I purchased recently and is now driven by my partner.
    At the end of the day what the Enyak offers above any of the competition is enormous space mixed with Skoda practicality combined with excellent range, so for me it's the only EV that I would presently consider as a replacement for my Skoda Yeti L&K.
    I'm personally waiting until next year however to make a final decision because the 300hp VRS Enyaq will be available then which hopefully will also offer a good range, coupled with sharp handling and a balanced 4WD power delivery. It should offer the best of all worlds ... albeit at a price :-(

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  3 роки тому +1

      Glad you liked the review!
      For the grille, that's a good point; that'll definitely help, but wonder if people would opt for that.
      Ha, indeed the RS/vRS should be an animal by comparison, but the price...you'll probably be looking at north of £50k; at which point it'll be down to practicality, as the Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin is an absolute weapon!

    • @XENONEZZ2
      @XENONEZZ2 3 роки тому +1

      @@TotallyEV Choosing Quartz grey metallic would sort the grille out quite well...to my eyes anyway.
      I'm thinking with options the vRS could well be in the £60k region making the Volvo Recharge probably the straight line performance choice £ for £....but ....which car is going to handle the best and which one doesn't come with built in range anxiety..?.....I think the vRS will score much better there....time will tell..🙂

    • @TotallyEV
      @TotallyEV  3 роки тому

      The Volvo gets around 240-250 miles, and gets to 60mph in a tested 4.51s - the latter figure being very hard to beat. However, in terms of boot space and interior capacity, there's a clear winner, the Skoda!

Just tow hook, winter package (heated rear seats and windscreen, the heatpump is included in all Enyaqs in Finland) and metallic color. Pretty boring colors available only :/.

      @@mickyjb2003 indeed infrastructure is an issue for people living in flats (us included!). As for the price, ideally we'd love to see EVs start from £10k...one can only dream at this stage.

      75'000 people seem to feel it's "right" enough for them, because that's how many orders Skoda now have for this car.

    585 litres of boot space? While it’s perfectly decent…..*laughs in Skoda Superb 660 litres*

    Certainly much better looking. VW seem to have lost that.... desirability in their new designs. The expression ' bread van' springs to mind😃 I'm guessing it's a concerted effort by VW to make the VW badged EV's a bit anonymous on the road, just 'there'.
    No fuss, no distinction, just getting on with the task in hand which in itself is commendable.

    Who buys a car this size? Often, people who want to put a bike on or in it. No mention of the fact that a bike goes in the back (seats down) with ease; no mention of the optional fully-equipped towbar that can take bikes or even a braked trailer - for an ev, on the back or inside is where you want the bikes, not on the roof: this is an excellent car for carrying bikes. We've ordered ours.

      Great, thanks for sharing and enjoy your purchase, Mike.
      We couldn't cover everything, but think we did a pretty good job - remember to be respectful.

      Hi Mike, thank you for mentioning this and congratulations for joining the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV family. This car really gives you plenty of space in the boot with the volume of 585 L. 🙂
