Philippine Bread - Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte, Mindanao

In this video, a friendly employee at a bakery in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte, Mindanao introduces various types of Filipino bread.
The most famous breads in the Philippines include pandesal, ensaymada, monay, pan de coco, spanish bread, pan de regla, pianono, biscocho, pan de ube, pan de leche, siopao, mamon, tasty bread, hopiang baboy, buko pie bread, inipit, pinagong, broas, putok, and egg pie.
While the Philippines doesn't officially have a national bread, if it did, it would be pandesal. Pan de sal means “bread of salt” in Spanish, for the pinch of salt added to the dough. It was introduced to the Philippines in the 16th century as the Spaniards' answer to the French baguette.
Monay is one of the most basic bread types in the Philippines and is sometimes known as the "mother of all Filipino breads" as it can be modified to give rise to various other bread types. These include breads like pinagong and putok.

Good evening Albert L & Family. I do miss these different kinds of Filipino bread. I do love pan de agua and binangkal. What we do have herein USA in Pinoy store is mostly pan de sal and Spanish bread. I was told we can order online. I haven't tried it yet. God bless everyone!
