The Subway/LightRail of Newark, New Jersey 2019

- Newark is the largest city in the state of New jersey with a population close to 300,000. Lightrail vehicles traverse downtown Newark underground coming above ground to serve the rest of the city and surrounding cities.

The Newark City Subway service is the longer and older of the two segments.[7] The line is a "subway-surface" light rail line which runs underground downtown and above-ground in outlying areas. Before becoming a part of the Newark Light Rail service, it was also known as the #7-City Subway line, an NJT Bus Operations route number that still applies internally (during system closures, buses would also bear the number "7 City Subway").
The segment is 5.3 mi (8.5 km) long and runs between Grove Street in Bloomfield and Newark Penn Station, a major transportation hub with connections to the PATH rapid transit system to Manhattan, multiple bus routes, and both Amtrak and New Jersey Transit Rail Operations trains. ~Wikipedia

April 22, 2019 will mark 10 years I have been upkeeping this UA-cam Channel: thank you so much for the support: I want to create a video answering any questions you have, so please if you have any questions for me about transit or my travels or anything leave a comment in any of my videos or send me a message.
Thank you for all the support!!!
I love to ride those trains to Grove Street all the time, although I do live in Jersey City. So sometimes, I ride on the Hudson Bergen Light Rail.
This Newark NJ system used to operate with PCCs.
Knowing that this light rail operates just some miles away from vibrant Manhattan makes it so bizarre.
This looks more like a random suburb eviroment in Sweden or Germany. 😊
This is the Light Rail of Newark. The ones that operate closer to Manhattan are the Hudson Bergen Light Rails.

Thanks Ford. I kwow them both :)
Look the same distance from South Ferry to the east and you know what I wanted to point out.
At 2:15, the passenger's shoe matches the design of the seat pattern.
One of my favorite UA-cam videos, especially in my first metropolitan area.
4:06-4:20 is a very familiar sight for me.
Cool light metro
Nice. But where are the passengers? Here in Europe the trains would be full with users.
During rush hour, these light rails get ridiculously crowded, to connect with the subway, and commuter rails, at a station called Newark Penn Station. On the weekends, it's normal to be empty like this.
@@FordEscape12345678 Thanks. Are there plans to extend the rail system in the City?
Many Cities in Europe have done it or will do it. So you can move within the City and Suburbs comfortable without cars.
@@bjornmundt5801 I'm not sure about that. But they also have another line that takes you from Newark Penn station to Newark Broad Street Station, which are both commuter rail stations, which is helpful for going to certain destinations. We have a subway system called Path that needs to be extended here in New Jersey that also connects to New York City. I'm not sure when or if they're going to extend it.
Why didn't you film the Light Rail to Newark Broad Street Station as well?
This time I did not have a chance but I have filmed it before. I do hope the broad street line is expanded further!
It's so cute
Can someone tell me if there's parking near here? Thanks.
do NYC please this year such as LIRR MNR and buses and subway
This Stop Park Avenue @7:05 :)
Are you actually gonna do the bus systems of Europe? I though with a reply like "not a bad idea" you would've went through with it.
Should Connect to Hudson lite Rail '
They’re too far apart
If only the *Hudson-Bergen* Light rail went to Newark
I took the train in Atlantic city NJ , not the same train rail
They need to extend it.
J El Native where to?
@@srfurley Elizabeth using the CNJ's Old Main Line
I'd like to see SEPTA replace their Kawasaki cars with these.
MBTA Green Line but better
I wish brick city would get their own unique cars or paint scheme instead of the same ones hblr uses..😒
