It doesn't matter that there really are some good people in government when the system itself has been fined tuned over decades to optimize output towards the corporations who have infiltrated every agency that is supposed to regulate them. Not only did I lose my husband,but I lost almost HALF A MILLION DOLLARS in unpaid rent for a restaurant in Washington state that I was the landlord to and had to sell it off at a loss. My father spent the last 6 weeks of his life in a nursing home alone. His memory was so bad and his cognitive level wouldn't allow him to understand why we couldn't visit him. He died brokenhearted thinking his children abandoned him. He was so malnourished by the time he was released he died within 6 hours. It was pitiful. And these jerks should be held responsible for the draconian measures they enforced.
I think stopping people from visiting the elderly was the cruelest part of covid. Like your father so many elderly people across the globe thought they had been abandoned by their families. I would also think in most cases they would have chosen to see family member even if it meant catching covid.
Similar story here, the last time I saw my dad, and that he saw his family, was through a glass door. He was in a wheel chair inside, and we had to stand outside. No real communicating, no hugging.

I spent 30 days on a ventilator and woke up paralyzed, with no use of arms, legs, hands, fingers. It took another 57 day in the hospital and rehab to regain my ability to walk. My dear MIL died in the hospital during Covid. She went in for a bladder infection, never came out. And we weren’t allowed to visit her. I was inpatient in 2020, and then in nursing rehab for 3 weeks, at the height of Covid. I wasn’t allowed to have any visitors. I felt like a prisoner.

I was literally forced, and my family and friends, to get three shots. I don't feel like I did prior to them, I haven't had any flu vaccines in my adult life, but these have left me unwell. I have health issues I never imagined, but now I get it.

I worked for the federal government for over a decade. You never, never conduct government business on your private email account. And you know that 100% of your work product is open to inspection and open to FOIA.
I think the one thing that gets me the most is there are no consequences. WHY are we even wasting tax payer money all to end up doing absolutely NOTHING!
