Bee gees fun fact... what do these 3 massive #1 hit's by the Bee Gees ( Tragedy, Too Much Heaven & Shadow Dancing) all have in common? Not only were they all #1 hits from 1979 but they were all written on the same afternoon! it's crazy when you even think about how talented these 3 brothers were!! The harmonies & Barry's falsetto are second to none! There will never be another group like this again........EVER!
You’ve got to love the Bee Gees I was raised on their songs and me and my brother would spend hours as kids in our room just pretending to be them and singing these great songs I was always Barry of course I can still hit the high notes but not as good as Barry 😂
Barry Gibb had a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon. Barry said he just discovered Notes has Numbers. He said none of the Bee gees could read music. They were not trained and did not know that they were not suppose to be able to harmonize at certain pitches. He said they all would try to match sounds around them or if one brother started a sound the others would try to match it. He said they recorded the music first and then wrote Lyrics on the spot in the studio. Sometimes one Brother might have an idea. He said they were very spontaneous.
I'm like that with meters, people seem to be able to break things down into time signatures but I just hear the rhythm, so when people get lost listening to someone like Tool I'm just in the music already and don't get why they need to number it out for it to make sense. I mean, written music was transcribed after people knew music, as instructions to tell people remotely how to play it, so starting with written music first seems naturally backwards for humans I think.
dude. I was already feeling this song...and then you dropped the "eggs burning in the kitchen" level love and an existential crisis quickly ensued. That statement was as real as it gets. Subbed. And as a white dude, I am damn proud that a lot of black reactors have taken in the Bee Gees as Honorary Soul Brothers, and definitely not offended when they wouldn't picture them as white. The Bee Gee’s wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was already topping charts world wide when they performed it, Jan. 1979, for The United Nations Children's Fund fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated all royalties and the publishing rights, making them the 1st band to make such a donation to charity. So, UNICEF gets paid, not just from sales of the Bee Gee’s version, but from any covers or other use (any version used in commercials, movies, TV, etc). Elsewhere someone said it hit 20 million as of 2019 (but I haven’t found an official source for that).

A lot of radio folks thought they were black, back in the day. Don’t know if you know who they are, but they grew up listening to the Mills Brothers ( a black group) --Their dad was a big fan and played their records around the house all the time--so that was an early influence on them. Actually, that is incorrect. The group was first known as "The Rattlesnakes" and then later local Australian DJ Bill Gates (not that one) renamed the brothers' group to the BG's (later changed to 'Bee Gees') after his, speedway promoter Bill Goode and Barry Gibb's initials. Thus, the name was not specifically a reference to 'Brothers Gibb', despite popular belief.
@@snowflakehunter You are partly correct because it was in the UK before they went to Australia that they called themselves Rattlesnakes. When they went to Austrailia and meet Gates and Goode they found out there was a lot B and G's around (also Barbra Gibb and Barry Gibb) so they settled for BG's as can be seen on the clothes from video's from that time. Sir Barry Gibb's falsetto is legendary - but, all three brothers were able to pull that off. (Check them out in "Nights On Broadway", performing live in "The Midnight Special", presented by Natalie Cole - Nat King Cole's daughter...) These three Musical Geniuses were able to musically adapt to each decade that they faced as a group - and they brought us close to 50 years of magic...💖💖💖 (They started performing when Sir Barry was ~11, and the twins Robin and Maurice were ~8 years old - in the mid 1950's...)
There is a 4th brother, Andy Gibb. He sounds just like them. He had a huge career as well but sadly died at age 30. His brothers sometimes did background vocals on songs. Can you imagine The Bee Gees as your background? 🤣🤣🤣 "I Just Wanna Be Your Everything" "Dont Throw It All Away" & "Shadow Dancing" were his biggest hits. Beautiful reaction!! And I think it’s absolutely fine to talk about race. I’ve watched many reactions from black reactors who were surprised to find out that the Bee Gees are white. I loved every single one! It also made me realize how happy I am to live in this time. We can discover music from decades ago every day and I love to watch people listen to music I grew up with for the first time. Funny thing, I love country music and used to listen to it, mainly on the radio. It took about 6 months before I knew that Darius Rucker was black. In the end it’s all about the music and how it makes you feel. ❤

It was , How can you mend a broken heart !! They kept it for themselves when Otis died but it was covered by Al Green 👍🏻

John Lennon and Paul McCartney have 65 number one hits. The Brothers Gibb wrote 40 number one hits. They are second best song writers in the world, and they are in the Hall of Fame of music, and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. Their number one song, "Islands in the Stream," is the all-time number 1 country song.
Please lets get back to music that uplifts the soul and is all about love.
Love how you couldn’t stop smiling 🙂
The bee gees one of the best bands in the world
these guys wrote so many songs for other artist and had so many hits spanning decades
Three white angels! Lol. You’re right. ☀️😛❤️😃
Welcome to the world of "DISCO." GOOD REACTION.
Please listen to alone. And words. The bee gees have been my faves since 1968.
The Bee Gees had another brother, Andy Gibb who was a pop star too, can you do some of his songs?
They’re beautiful, and their music has truly been a gift to this world. ❤️🎶🌎
🤩✨🎶✨🎶Enjoying your reactions, Sir!📻❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️
Beautiful reaction!!
And I think it’s absolutely fine to talk about race. I’ve watched many reactions from black reactors who were surprised to find out that the Bee Gees are white. I loved every single one!
It also made me realize how happy I am to live in this time. We can discover music from decades ago every day and I love to watch people listen to music I grew up with for the first time.
Funny thing, I love country music and used to listen to it, mainly on the radio. It took about 6 months before I knew that Darius Rucker was black.
In the end it’s all about the music and how it makes you feel. ❤
Thank you
Knew you would love it. Merry Christmas
Happy holidays
Oh yeah. That kind of love that has you slow dancing dancing buck naked in kitchen. That's the good stuff.
Danced a few times and burned some eggs to this back in the day.
See difference we grew into this music. Many soulful voices throughout races. The music was mixed back with everything. Sad we as parents didn't cultivate that experience fo all our children.
MASTERFUL!!!
Wow, and to think I almost didn’t watch this one 🤦♀️ This has been a rough day for me ... I didn’t want to be “happy” today 😔 but I jump on here and see your videos ... Led Zeppelin, The Bee Gees and NF ... and your energy in each one is just too infectious. I can’t help but smile and even laugh a couple of times!!! You have pulled me out of some dark days my friend ... thank you for all that you do!!! My Christmas can end with a little bit of genuine joy 🙏💖🙏
And between “dancing butt naked in the kitchen, eggs burning” to “little white angels” 😂😂😂😂 I am soooo glad I decided to watch this one too!!!!
Great review Biz!!! Thanks again fam 💞
Blessings!! Glad i could be there for you in some 🙌🏽🙌🏽❤
