I've seen and read it. It's not a big deal in any media. Kite is just anyone who is forgotten the minute after he disappears. The weight of the scene is not much greater as I can feel the same in the 2011 one.

I was so excited when I saw this scene. "OH THAT'S THE DUDE FROM EPISODE 1!!!!!" It's sad that they don't have that experience from watching just 2011, though the pacing is much better.

The only reason why its popular it was the animation and fights. Which they were okay but got boring real fast. Plus the manga got more people reading it than watching the anime. If I wanted to see the omitted things like Kite's debut and Leorio pushing open two gates, I'd just go to the manga because it takes way less time and more assessable.
She's not asking it. It's normal to talk in a way where you look like you're doubting something when you're surprised, but it's just that. The fact that's she's surprised we got to see Gon when he was a baby. She knew he would be a baby if they showed him there, she's just surprised because they really like Gon's character and seeing him as a baby it's surprising and cute
