Man, you had about the same reaction I first had. Initially was like, "Yeah, this is weird, but good. Maybe not my favorite." Now I'm blasting it at max volume in my car.

@@TheChampOfMedium the bridge was Indian. It just sounded slightly different. They've done Indian before. I didn't hear it until just now watching your reaction. Indian with a twist. Like the end of each Indian melody goes down instead of up. Djenty Indian.
My reaction was the same. At first I thought someone was trying to free ride on their name, because the cover for the song was so different. Then I was skeptical when I heard the song. Now it's one of the favourites... Kind of interesting how the brain works: First dismiss the song, just because it breaks a pattern. Then you love it... 😆

This song (and Hypnosis) were written by Haraguchi-san. So, their two most unusual songs were written by the bass player.
Very interesting! I had no idea.
I don’t think anyone has ever told Haraguchi-san “no”. lol I think they built this song around a concept and stuck with it, that didn’t include wild solos from anyone but did include a funk vibe to go with Maui’s rap. Made me think of those rap songs wheee they have a female clean chorus - but you don’t need an additional vocalist when you have a Mayu, apparently. She can indeed do whatever the hell she wants, well.
Someone else said this might be an album track they skipped but I don’t think so, I think it’ll be a welcome change of pace if placed well in the track order.
This is a grower song for sure. I think a lot of established fans were thrown off by how different it is, but many came around to loving it after multiple listens.
Mayu laying down the polar opposite style scream than we’re used to at the close. MONSTROUS!💪🏻🤘🏻
I really like this one in part because of how different it is to a lot of their other songs. And I also think the different elements make it a great gateway track for newcomers to the band, which is always hugely important for growing audiences.

I like this version/variant of Nemophila. This felt like the Nemophila version of Harajukucore. I can dig it.
Speaking of Harajukucore, if you like a little rap in your metal you should check out Hanabie 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation'. They go off in that one, especially Yukina. And I don't mean the usual Growl Goddess stuff, but high speed rapping. ❄🌸
And, as usual, I enjoyed the reaction/breakdown. Above medium, I would say.
At first i did not like it, now after a while i love it.These girls master what ever they want. Haraguchi writes very interesting stuff. I think her music is cool addition to their music.

I had listened to this, prior to the MV dropping, several times and had the same opinion, then when the MV dropped...I immediately noticed the callbacks/shoutouts to different 90s Bands: from LP to RHCP, and others and all of their MVs.....and was like ok I see you Nemophila!!! Now, I rarely skip this track...
You were grooving the ~entire~ time though weren't ya! I think that's where this song really shines, the riff really gets its hooks into you, and there are all these cool little variations that keep it interesting, all these slow bends and weird lead parts and skittering percussion they have the space to throw in. It's a really slow, laid-back, kinda stoner metal song and I wish I had a 7-string to play along because it's pretty addictive (I'll probably just tune a couple of strings down, it's the kind of riff where lack of tension is Not A Problem)
That mid bridge is a real Petrucci/Myung break for just a moment isn't it!!? love it hehehe.. Yep I can respect their mix up in this. Based upon work thus far there are unexpected additives in the pot with this one, but great!

It's basically Nu Metal with a really interesting bridge. I'm finding I like it more and more with each listen, which to be fair is how I feel about every Nemophila song.

GR8 reaction Champ!!! It took a few listens for me to really appreciate it and now I absolutely LOVE it!!!! This was written by Haraguchi San who also wrote Hypnosis. The rapping part was my initial stumbling block with it and it took me back to when Rush released Roll the Bones and they had a rap part in it. Not trying to compare Nemophila to Rush but like Rush you can't lock Nemophila into a nice little box and say "you can only do this!" All their songs are different and I think it's fucking GR8!!!!! there is 2 amazing songs from Nemophila you havent done yet now some people think Mayu puts alot of effects on her voice to make her scream sound that awesome if you want proof her it is do Oiran UA-cam studio version and then in the same video do Oiran Neon Yeon 2021 and compared the 2 and the second song is Sorai Live and their 5 best covers is AC DC Whole Lotta Rosie, Linkin Park Given Up, Babymetal Megitsune, Iron Maiden The Trooper and Iron Maiden Aces High please react to all of these and please let me know what you think
I see it similarly. It's definitely not my favourite Nemophila song, but I don't mind if it appears in my playlist. It's something different, and I think the arrangement is nevertheless quite well done.

I think it is not Nemophila, it is Hara-san which makes the difference. As in Hypnosis, she is walking a different path, which shows the diversity of the band. Absolute cool.
Band-Maid and Nemophila, not the same style, but the same creativity.

I agree. Not my favourite. They are a relatively new band and have a big base of fans already that like their original style of music. I know they want to show their versatility in music but I think is too early to change styles at risk of alienating their original fans. I am still a fan but this is a step backwards in my opinion.
