- Stonehenge is the most architecturally sophisticated prehistoric stone circle monument in the world and one of the world's greatest enigmas; it is located nearby Salisbury, in Wiltshire, England. Stonehenge was probably constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC and was presumably a religious and burial site, and also used for observing the Sun and the Moon.
Stonehenge was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986.
Recorded October 2018 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX100.

The day that I visited Stonehenge, it was a cold and misty day in late October. The tourist rush was over, and there were maybe ten or so people there. A truly eerie experience with the stones drifting in and out of view. The music chosen for the video would have matched that day perfectly, somehow otherworldly. That day I could easily have imagined that the monument had been created by Merlin, one of the many legends, because the mist, the almost silence (the nearby road noises were dulled by the mist), and the sounds of the crows circling the site, gave the impression that only magic could have created it.
Finally, a great photographer brings us to iconic Stonehenge! Marvelous!

Interesting look at a famous site. Strangely enough, it does not seem to be as impressive as many would make out. Many unanswered questions like how did they move the large stones from the distant quarry and I gather recently that extra artifacts have been excavated in the general area. Excellent clear video as usual. 👀👍

So lovely!! Music is simply lifting & taking to that age. We have seen stone henge in so many documentaries, but this experience is heart touching! Human evolution, from stone henge to look all those cars & people in lovely dresses but then when we see Russia war did we actually evolved or our minds are still the Stone Henge!?! first time I visited Costa Rica I used lower quality camera, so these videos I removed from UA-cam a long time ago, but hopefully will revisit again ...

you are not allowed to touch the stones, but there are special access tours at dawn or dusk, for a small number of people ...
If you are going to be dragging large tonnage like a stone like those for 160 miles, why would you not shape them down more taking off unwanted weight at the quarry first. Amazing. I think we need to uncover more of Gobekli Tepe and examine them better also. Curious, my view of UK is mostly cloudy and wet, but here is a celestial study and worship site worth all that effort.

Realmente es un misterio y ala ves mucho se a conseguido saber o dar una explicación razonable , no me gusta pensar que son piedras para horcas ,, também pudo ser lugar de sacrificios , me quedó con los solsticios del sol para saber del invierno y verano ,,eso si como se subieron esas piedras tan grandes y pesadas ? The theory of stonehenge fascinated me,..., just today...!
1st & foremost the stones were already there or very nearby.. ; most likely brought there by glasiers...!
If one were to transport hugh stones & boulders from hundred of miles away, then it better be to erect a structure for some Kings or God's like Castles or Temples as were the case in the building of tje Piramids & the Temple of Angkor Wat ..!
So, what did the neolithic people who are stone masons do..?
YES! BUILT STONE STRUCTURES.....!
The structure looks like an amphitheatre & a recreational area where they held feast, funerals , weddings, games & the likes..!
During cold winters it was probably turned into a tent ...!
It served the people well for thousands of years until the bronze /iron age...!
That is why it was never destroyed...!
During tribal wars, the enemies are lured there and ambushed...!
Had it bern a Temple, the Spaniards, Romans would have destroyed the structure thoroughly and would havr lleft no trace of the structure ie "they would have left no stones unturned", so to speak ..!
I believe, 4000BC-1000AD.., this structure was in used...!
There should be villagers built around this structure given the circular architecture...!
I doubt that the 50 cremated bodies qualified it as a burial site...!
I believe, the charred bodies were enemies that were consumed...!
During the neolithic age., in Britain and large swats of Europe..., cannabilism was still largely practised because of the shortage of food during the winter months....!
Farming & husbandry changed the Worlds eating habits...!
I know, that it will be difficult for a civilised society today to accept that fact about their own origins....!
But it is the same all over the World , at one time or another..!
No wonder, the English are very intelligent & smart... ; they ate a lot of human brains..! 🤣🤣😂
