I know this is about a mother's loss of her child. but. when I listen to this.. I think of my dog, who was born into my hands and left me suddenly due to a silent and aggressive cancer just shy of his 7th birthday. It's been 6 months and it still chokes me up when I think about our last days together. it killed me. it really did... and still does.
Ahh so beautiful! This and Need You Now resonate so well with me right now. I haven't listened to songs in such a long time that display what I'm going through in my walk with God. It's nice to know you're not alone and to be reminded of God's love and grace.

I miss him so much but I do not want him to hurt anyone and for anyone to hurt him, I do not want to bury him, and I cannot bear the thought of going before him and for him to suffer anymore cuts and beatings.
Missing my grown daughter who is lost in heroin addiction. She is a lovely child who made it to 27 yrs old w/out giving into evil things. She got lost, tried drugs and got trapped, I do not want to bury her. She is now 30....I count the days to hold her.

I left the church for 13 years, became an atheist for 4 years. By the grace of God I am back home where I belong. I'm 29 and this just happened nearly 2 weeks ago. My mother's prayers never stopped and she is happy as can be. Thankfully I didn't experience drug addictions, but believe and pray and don't stop.

My UA-cam profile name is my first baby girl’s name. My Samantha was born on July 4, 2002. She went back to her Father two days after. I wouldn’t have been able to get through the most difficult time in my life if I didn’t know God through Jesus Christ. After we found out that Samantha had a very rare condition that would shorten her life, my wife asked me, “why us?” I gently held her face in my hands and replied, “why ‘not’ us?” I accidentally stumbled upon this song while listening to a playlist on my music app. I recognized the lyrics in the intro right away. They’re from one of my top favorite Peter Gabriel songs. I then did some research on I Want You Here and my heart broke all over again for my Samantha Nickole when I read the lyrics. I couldn’t help but weep. I’m not too macho to say I couldn’t hold back the tears as I started composing this comment. My heart and prayers go out to those parents who’ve gone through, who are going through, or will go through the same heart wrenching experience as I and others parents have. All I can say to encourage you is to always look to God. Depend on Him, call out to Him, and cry out to Him. He’s there. He’s listening. He knows how difficult it is to let a child go. He had to do something even more difficult which was to look away from His son as He died on the cross for us all. Besides the Holy Spirit, the book of Job was a great source of encouragement. Job had to see more than one child leave him! Ugh!! But he remained loyal to God and kept his faith in Him. God blessed him a hundred times more in the end. My second daughter was my hundred blessings. We found out we were pregnant with our Autumn on Good Friday. Three years after Samantha left us! God is good ALL the time and ALL the time God is good!!!
