Absolutely amazing I tried making this recipe which was almost identical to the one my grandmother tried to teach me one Sunday morning when I made my way down to the kitchen for me it didn’t turn out too well however that was 40 years ago lol for some reason hers always Came out with the most Crispy and firm and full of delicious chunks of foul
I had a go at this a couple of months ago and am now making it again for new year's eve. It is such a treat! I was never a fan of steak but this is an exception 😊 thanks for the recipe ❤ hope you'll post soon! I'll always be a firm and devoted supporter of your channel 🎉
Kate and Sidney is one of my dad's faves. Back in the day, he used to eat them like there was not tomorrow! The rest of us weren't so keen on the kidney so we'd pick it out. I know my dad hasn't had a steak and kidney pie in years, so next time I'm home, I'll be making one of these for him - along with the Viennese whirls for the bro! xx
🤩 if you do, I hope he likes! You’re going to be one busy bee in the kitchen when you get back. Make sure that you make something delicious for yourself 😉 💕 Miss. HD
@@handeddownkitchen8192 Oh he'll love it for sure. And now that I'm older and my own tastes have changed, I won't mind grabbing some for myself - even with the kidney in it! Haha - I'm always busy when I go home. It's never a holiday, trust me! xx
Trying to describe this to the wife, I struggled before simply stating the fact: the meat is handled with a lot of love. Rolling each piece is just wonderful. Mind you, my only experience with steak and kidney pie is what you'd get in a pub back in the 80's. [shudder] =D
Hi Tracie - we're working on one right now! Fingers crossed, we're hoping to have a video for a 1909 recipe for a fruit mincemeat and a separate mince pie video using this ready and uploaded here next week (aiming for the 24th at the moment) 😉. 💕 Miss. HD
This is just what I’ve been looking for, for years. Just a plain and simple old English pie, Thankyou.❤

Love it thanks, so simple. It's almost ready
And the music is wonderful too.
My all time favourite pie and also like just steak and kidney by itself with mashed potato and peas.
We've never had steak and kidney by itself before. I'd imagine it would quiet nice, if the pie was anything to go by!

@@handeddownkitchen8192 I was wondering if you are thinking of making fruit mince pies in any of your videos?

Lovely!
Thank you so much.
i think they did a jeeves and wooster episode about this gorgeous pie
Lovely recipe, turned out delicious, thank you so much
Can't believe the amount of our American cousins who actually thought/think that the kidney part refers to a bean.😂
Love the video! I am gonna make this one for sure!
Thank you! Let us know how it goes 😉 it really was delicious!

Do you have rabbit meat recipes ? for small holdings with smaller spaces in villages ? Thank you
What size dish is this for?
Hi Laura, this will make about 4 servings - 6 if you only want a small slice. We used a 15cm pie dish 😉

I believe you forgot to plate up some gravy!
"The secret is browning the butter"
Looks delicious but technically not a pie, in which the filling is totally enclosed by pastry. This is a stew with a pastry lid
Nice music but drowns your voice out. :(
When beef was tuppence a pound.
Lose the cheesy music.
