@@iat1999 Because of Haikyuu I finally decided to give it a chance this year (played beach volleyball because I am afraid of diving for the ball on a hard court - but in the sand so much easier) and I LOVED it.
Is it just me or did half the people watch this so they can try and find Kageyama and Hinata? I want to join a volleyball team now.

@@voelligbanane844 Exactly, the animator studied volleyball so he could create a genuine experience for viewers. The anime pays very close attention to very finite details of the sport and it feels very real.

In 1:17:35 starting with serve by S.Schwarz from GER the BRA player 11 is one of the backline player, isn't he? Why his spike from the front field over the net is compliant to rules? By rules 14.2 and following the backline players aren't allowed to do so, are they?

To everyone commenting on the booing by the Brazilian fans: in Brazil we're not very successful in sports except for football, volleyball and the occasional gold medal in other competitions like judo, so, yeah, we're FIERCE when it comes to showing how much we love our athletes and how badly we want them to succeed. I guess you just have to deal with it, because we ain't changing.

They make such a big deal out of a guy bein 6'11".I watched the taller guys and they only jump 5 or 6 inches off the floor.That's just pathetic.I'm 6'5" and at my peek my jump was at 42 inches.I know that's not anything great but it's enough to stuff block a taller guy who can barely get his feet off the ground.This was a fun match to watch tho.
mate these Olympians jump waayyy higher than 5 inches (that's only 13cm) They all jump around about 27 inches+ (70cm)
Randy Cable are you serious? If you are 6'11 you don't have to jump that high anyways to block. And they do jump much higher than 5 inches.
Obviously you have never played on the court with bigger guys. I have many times and they just don't jump more than a foot max. I think it's because the bigger guys' knees just can't take the pounding from a higher jump. That's a lot more mass to get off the floor. Of course there are always 1 or 2 that defy those odds but it's VERY rare. Plus I think they don't jump high because they don't have to get off the floor that high to get the job done lmfao.
