Till today he has never proved himself over this claim.
@charlesking7331 oga I'm from ihiala town and I will take you where the river is located, we will use boat drive it to Ogbaru from there to oguta and crosses Bonny to Atlantic Ocean
This river port has been concessioned. The company is to managed it for 30 years. It is now left for the company to collaborate with FG and with the host state which is Anambra state in order to operate better.
For the sake of accuracy, my brother, Chad and Cameroun are not touched by the River Niger. However, both countries may be able to use its waters to convey goods up to its tributary, River Benue and thereafter combining rail, more water and finally trucks to get goods to Garoua, Ndjamena etc. Just looking out for you. Daalu!
@Anambra1stSonTV it doesn't make sense for the older bridge to have a higher clearance than the newer bridge, if anything it should be the same height clearance. It's not about if vessels can pass through. They are only assuming that barge vessel will pass through it. That's low thinking. SE is part of the problem of not having a truly international functioning port. The govts/politicians should have been working together but each state is so small minded and acting alone. Anambra wants port, imo wants port, abia wants port. It's not a cheap bus stop construction. So apart from the bitter sectarian politics we are extremely small minded by acting alone in many areas. No practical considerations of economies of scale and cost. We should be working together on a international shipping port, proper Int'l airport and electricity sector.
How many states in nigeria did what you just said here? Apart from lagos, which port was built by the federal government. Even port Harcourt sea port is not even 40% functional upon all their money. Why didn't all the South South stares join hands together to make it 100% functional like the one in lagos? Why is akwa ibom building their own port? Why can't them join together, as you said, with River State to develop the port in Port Harcourt. When it comes to the southeast, you people will open your mouth waa talking shit. You make everything look easy, but the reality is the opposite. What you just said now about south east governors is applicable to other regions, too. You make it sound as if is only southeast such things happen. The way you people criticize the southeast as if other regions are different. Did any state in South West join together to construct lagos port? Tell me any region in nigeria that their state governors are working together to build a sea port. You people should always think before you talk
@Johnpaul-007 why all this angry misunderstood ranting? What's your point? I am talking in respect to the video about petty bitter politics. We're both saying the same thing, I am just restricting my comment to the purpose/topic of the video, it's not a general political talk. Old Eastern region states are pursuing too many big projects solely despite having little to no capital or political leverage to carry it out. And it's embarrassing. But SE is the worst of this individualism since they arguably have the least federal politics presence. And also the most homogenous so they have even less excuse to not work together. If the likes of soludo and otti don't champion this SE partnership then I give up on it.
It remains a fact that if river Niger is positioned like this in any Northern state, the Federal government would have made it fully functional long ago. You don't expect Ebonyi state governor or Imo state governor to speak to Federal government before they build it. For many decades, Onicha Seaport has undergone lots of debates and promises, many groups have also pointed it's non functionality to Federal government as a proof of marginalization which is why Yaradua tried to build it. It is a dirty Federal politics and extreme marginalization that a multi national river beside the largest market in West Africa has no viable Seaport
Stop marketing your backwardnes in the name of writing note without meaning and understanding if you don't know the history why igbo land don't have international seaport and international Airport and why the so called south south without meaning don't have international Airport or international seaport why both is block by Nigeria government and only lagos seaport and Airport is functioning go and ask YAKUBU GOWON and Awolowo and yoruba tribe and hausa fulani northerners since 1967 till today
It's quite worrisome to note that most times good people don't last but it's only God that has the answer. Late Present Umaru Musa Yaradua was a true democrat,a nationalist, detribalised and a patriotic Nigerian of which if life was given to him to saddle the ship of Nigeria would have done more to make other regions more functional but unfortunately his life was cut short which has brought us to where we are today. Nigerian leaders are so selfish and myopic that they don't reason beyond tribe, religion and ethnicity, these are factors that retard development in countries as vast and with diverse ethnic groups as Nigeria; all these were aimed at pinning down the Igbos but on the contrary it jeopardizes the economic and overall interest of all Nigerians and restricts us from attaining international significance and respect amongst committee of Nations;may God help us 🙏
Thank you soooo much.. I have been trying know why our porting activities haven’t commenced after the concession. It appeared the universal Elysium disappeared after the concession as no good website with deep information was present, no evidence of activities and also no information of a development pertaining to it… honestly I thought we were swindled. One good thing is that the port has been positioned, one thing may lead to the other and the right attention will be given to it to maximize its full potentials. Things can never continue this way in Nigeria. Maka na onye ji mmadu na ana jikwu onwe ya. Nigeria wake up.
Story for the gods, Northern Nigeria has dry island port and they functioning, I don't really know what is Igbos problem, let them forget their own and keep on developing other place...they are still the one using it to play politics 😂
You are talking shit. Who built the dry port in kaduna State? It was built by the federal government of buhari. If it comes to anything about the southeast, you people will be talking shit. Why didn't you ask the federal government to build the onitsha port the way they build the one in the north? Why can't the federal government help the southeast to build the port in onitsha the same way they build lagos port? You people are partial in your judgements. Do for me what you did for others. When it happened to the southeast, you will be saying that southeast governors should build the port them selfs, but if it happened to other regions, the federal government should build the port.
@Johnpaul-007 was it not the federal govt that built the onitsha port? Is it not the right thing to concession it for better productivity? If the SE goes can rally round the consortium company and standardize it, who gains? Sit down forever and don't take your destiny in your own hands
@kayskillz7119 When it comes to the southeast, you want the governors of the southeast to build it, but when it happened in other zones, you expect the federal government to build it, right? This is the problem of this country, injustice everywhere. Why can't the federal government build this port the same as lagos port or kaduna dry port? I believe you know why. Without the support of the federal government, nothing can be done by the southeast governors.the federal government needs to help southeast to dredge the river and other important things in that onitsha port.
