How do you make sure that the water doesn’t overflow outside the container? It seems like the pebbles might redirect the water away from where the pump is
Thanks Alice for your question. I placed a bowl inside the pot to caintain the water & reused. The spout of the pump must be placed inside the bowl. the Hope this explanation helps.
I’m assuming you put the potting mix OUTSIDE the bowl toward the back bc otherwise the soil will drift into the water bowl and your fountain will end up clogged. BTW, spider plants live in water too. I’ve made several fountains with living spider plants as part of the water feature. No soil needed.
I made this and it turned out beautifully. Until I got comments from my gardener friend who said plants require drainage. I’ve been pondering for days and I cannot figure out how to put live plants in and give them their proper drainage so they don’t get root rot or have fungi grow. And I’m so destroyed because I absolutely love the look of my beautiful bamboo water fountain!!!
Typo above - should say I’m “distraught “ not “destroyed” lol. I’m guessing I will need to use fake plants. Btw I found the most beautiful red bamboo bowl from Walmart for only $12.

Such a lovely project and very simple. Did you stick the water container to the bottom pot to block up the hole to prevent leaks please? 🙏🙏

Yes you are right! This is a beautiful idea but no functional … it’s more messy to maintain than create
@@leelas2879would of been better if the hole had been plugged and used as a basin.
What grey material you added in white cement? Please let me know
