Arnost Reckziegel There is nothing to understand from the logical perspective of the mind, Nate is one with his bike and everything around him, he is just reacting based on reflexes and intuition. Everyone with a little practice of awareness and the bike handling could do it as long as they don't fear that something could go wrong.
Every week you outdo yourself but this video in particular is the reason most of us ride, just a bunch of guys having a good time. The length, scenery, and content makes this one of the best so far. Keep it up!
please tell me you shredded this on the 4.5... b/c if you can ride like this, on a "short/mid" travel 29er... then everyone is over-gunned with their 160mm 27.5 bikes...
Your videos are fun to watch. Not too long, not too short. I like that you don't add music. I can hear how your bike is handling the terrain, when you use your brakes, etc. I wish I could ride like this. I just started riding again after 6 years off the bike. I have rheumatoid arthritis, but have gotten it under more control. I have a Scott Genius that I got and am riding again. I can't do what you do, however. Jumps and large bumps will hurt. I thought about doing videos on staying fit with chronic disease, but I don't feel I have the time.
Holy s**t! Moab looks killer on everyone's videos. My take on MTB video length is anything from 3 - 15 mins. As long as the shredding is as awesome as this it's all well received. For a once a weeker like you, it'd be good to see at least 7 or 8 mins though, as we don't see you again for a full week.
It just kept getting gnarlier and gnarlier.. Insane there towards the end. Love the longer format. You guy's are certifiable for the way you ride. Straight too the loony bin for yalls.
That was sick. We were in a Moab a few weeks ago and rode Jacksons. I have to admit, that set of ledge switchbacks scared the shit out of me and was the only thing I didn't ride all week. The way you rode that was super smooth and I saw several lines I didn't notice at all when I was there. Very rad. Thanks.
That was awesome ! This guy in blue on Orbea got crazy skills ! You all got but he did a show. After watching this I dream about going there even more. Greetings from Poland !
love the longer video. I just found your Channel on Monday and have watch all of the videos. These videos have made excited to start riding again. thank you for the awesome videos.
Nice one Nate. I'm liking the longer format. I know one might lean to shorter videos when you look your channel analytics (average watch time of 3 min), but there are still plenty of people out there that watch the whole thing. My race diaries are like 30 min long, but people really seem to dig then even if the view count is lower than the other vids.
I liked this video and the way it was cut with high lights from different parts of the trails. There's absolutely nothing like that in new zealand so I enjoyed to see some heavy rock trails. I do like your complete run forrest & downhill videos too
OK. Loving the longer format. This ride really looked like some mates out for a ride, rather than some insane shredders doing their thing. Which was exactly what happened. Strange to see you left at the bottom of a boulder! Your Moab stuff is consistently the most sphincter-twitching MTB videos I watch. What you guys do is just beyond my comprehension, but thank you for sharing. TLDR - Good to see mates having fun on bikes, enjoyed the longer cut.
Nate, morning from Dubai. Wow, both technical and challenging ride in Moab. Homeward bound on Monday and look forward to hitting Bugs Springs in Tucson next weekend. Blue skies from the sandbox. Jg
Rode this for the first time a few days ago. Can't believe how fast these guys are going through some of it. On that double switchback, I studied it a bit, then did the first section to the super tight turn, then walked through the next switchback where there is minimal clearance for the bars while riding through chunk. They just blasted through the whole thing! There were also exposed sections where I said, "No, don't even try it."
Depends on the trail, but a little longer can sometimes be better with your videos.. I don't know that I can say that about anyone else on youtube. This type of terrain combined with incredible riding equals awesomeness.
Moab is beautiful narly terrain, a true Mt. Bikers paradise. you guys make it look so easy yet for us intermediate riders there be plenty of hike the bike sections and/or injuries! ha Ride on!
Sick video. I think the longer format was dope. I'm a little late to watching cuz I was out of town but I still made sure to watch it as soon as I got some wifi and a free 10 mins.
Perfect length video. Nice to see some of the tech up as well. Wish I had your skill and guts. Surprised your bike and wheels can hold up to the abuse. Keep the vids coming
If the content is this rich, longer is fine! Great stuff. I like how you seem to entertain yourself by taking a straight line no matter how many boulders there are in your way. And, of course I'd hate to see one of you fall off a cliff, but maybe, just once, into something like that little creek ... ?
Met Kyle on a Burro Pass shuttle ride. He was our shuttle driver! I knew he was a bad ass when I saw his name at the top of every strava segment on the trails we rode in Moab. The guy is a technical riding SOB!
Brilliant episode, respectively trail. And always nice to see an Orbea Rallaon in action. On the other hand: When seeing how easily big rocks might flip sightways one should ask himself, if riding on exposed tracks above another track is acceptable: Danger of killing hikers on the path beneath by falling stones. I was nearly hit by one myself this year (pushing my bike uphill). Still it is so much fun on those kind of tracks.
WOW !!! Such amazing ( terrifying sometimes..) place for a ride ! Really really love to put my tires here one day in my life... Thank you guys for that nice nice vidéo ! ;-)
Amazing scenery and trails. I'm doing mountainbiking videos myself - but still figuring out the best setup. Asides from that I have only totally different landscapes available at my door step :)
I liked seeing some nuances of the trail. I want to hit it up. Odd Hike a bikes climbs etc. Good work- Also liked the deer creek run on my home course. Great work climbing the wall. Never made it myself :(
Vow, this is absolutely crazy what you're doing! I can't believe you are still alive and heathy! Just wondering how many years of practice would it require to ride like you?
Another great edit (the extra length is good). But your making the rest of us look bad, dude! I couldn't even *walk* down most of that stuff, let alone ride it... 😂
LOVE the longer length edits. Crazy riding, and the game of front wheel "rock flick" was hilarious. Shenanigans! It was like deja vu at the first, because it appeared to be the same start that you use to go to climb up to Captain Ahab. How would you compare it to Porcupine Rim from UPS down, and Capt. Ahab? It looked KILLER, and much longer than "Dave's Trail" from one of your recent videos. At any rate, sick riding as always, and the extra length didn't lose my attention at all. SHRED ON SIR!!
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to put Jackson's and Portal Trail on the list for next visit for sure. Trying my hand at longer format videos.... Let me know your thoughts. Too long? Just right? Too short? Thanks for watching!!
Nate Hills love it, man! I vote yes!
Thanks for the feedback SquirmingCoil1.
Nate Hills a 24/7 station would be just long enough! Great video, the longer the better!
I'm digging it. What you riding here?
perfect length!
I would piss myself trying to ride this. You guys are amazing.
Sounds messy ;)
+Nate Hills $$? for bikes rims?take such punishment by rocks
Seriously, they make it look so easy!
7:58 -8:07 fck da trail already😂😭🤣 REACH SUPERSAIYAN LEVEL ALREADY
incredible riding as usual!! Keep'm comin! Lovin the longer format also. 8-12min is perfect length of video imo.
Thanks for the feedback!
agreed
Haha, what an adventure! Loved all the goofy shenanigans. I've never seen that game where you hold hands and the first to pull away loses.
Neither have I..... haha.
I was the dude taking up the rear. Thanks for the hospitality - nice to see the same ride from your perspective. Good shit.
Cheers bro! Glad we could grab a rip!
the length of this video is just perfect...Just as your riding, man...Dont understand how you can be so smooth on such hard terrain...much respect!!!
Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks. Just out there with the mates, riding bikes.
BEST 9:57 of my day!... I love having the longer format every once in a while!... you guys are side-knob killers.. damn
Moab eats tires!
please tell me you shredded this on the 4.5... b/c if you can ride like this, on a "short/mid" travel 29er... then everyone is over-gunned with their 160mm 27.5 bikes...

Glad to hear that you are riding your bike John, way to go 🤘🏻
I'm just blown away with the skill you guys have! So enjoyable to watch! Always about a longer video format!!
Thanks for the feedback Weston.

Haha, thanks Bruce.

That part is a challenge for sure.... Especially when it is dry and blown out.
That was awesome ! This guy in blue on Orbea got crazy skills ! You all got but he did a show. After watching this I dream about going there even more.
Greetings from Poland !
Kyle is a beast ✊🏻

Love the longer videos. I just have to remind myself to breathe before the end.
I liked this video and the way it was cut with high lights from different parts of the trails. There's absolutely nothing like that in new zealand so I enjoyed to see some heavy rock trails. I do like your complete run forrest & downhill videos too
One of my favourite by far! Great riding by all 👍
One hell of a gnarly ride! Jackson Trail on my list baby! Nice shred there..you guys make it look easy, AWESOME.
Longer the better, especially when the landscape is that amazing!
video may be old, but holy smokes that is amazing riding! love that high 5 shot at the Colorado river after that insane descent.
OK. Loving the longer format. This ride really looked like some mates out for a ride, rather than some insane shredders doing their thing.

Thanks for watching! Just having fun out there, glad it comes across in the video. Thanks for the input.
Hey Nate, this is one of your best ones, really got me hooked up.
Really enjoyed the editing in this one. Super cool to see quick snippets of the rider's personalities, failures and successes. Keep it up!
Thanks Max 🤘🏻
Great video, you guys make that trail look easy. One of my favorites in moab, I rode it way back before it had a name. Super fun.
Never gets old.
Nate, morning from Dubai. Wow, both technical and challenging ride in Moab. Homeward bound on Monday and look forward to hitting Bugs Springs in Tucson next weekend. Blue skies from the sandbox. Jg
Enjoy Bug!
Nate you are a Jedi, that was insane and that trail is definitely not for the faint hearted... epic longer vids
I rode Jackson's a few days ago for the first time. Those switch backs on the decent are 1thousand times scarier in person. Great riding!
Those things are really blown out right now.
Rode this for the first time a few days ago. Can't believe how fast these guys are going through some of it. My first time here this week. Same thoughts exactly.
Sick and fast riding! Keep the longer vids coming! Unbelievable scenery!
Depends on the trail, but a little longer can sometimes be better with your videos.. I don't know that I can say that about anyone else on youtube. This type of terrain combined with incredible riding equals awesomeness.
Nate the line choices are so good. Great footage.
Literally on the edge of my seat watching that, definite fight-or-flight kicking in a couple times!
You guys are so badass! In my dreams only at this point in the game. I know how technical that trail is, and you guys slayed it!
Thanks.
Wow, one of your sickest videos yet, that kind of riding makes me proud to be a mountain biker!!! Keep killing it!!!
You are lucky to live near such amazing trails. your videos are awesome
Thanks for watching!
That was amazing...pretty sketch towards the end...have to be honest, not sure I'd have the stones to attempt that. So, thanks for sharing!
This is the first time I have seen this run...amazing. SWEET!!
This is my favorite #followcamfriday so far. Insane trails with insane riding....Love it!
Moab is beautiful narly terrain, a true Mt. Bikers paradise. you guys make it look so easy yet for us intermediate riders there be plenty of hike the bike sections and/or injuries! ha Ride on!
Wow, sick!! Makes Ahab look like child's play...
Nice video Nate, loved the end where those switch backs got super technical.
My favorite video that you have uploaded so far!
Thanks Kirk!
Sick video. I think the longer format was dope. I'm a little late to watching cuz I was out of town but I still made sure to watch it as soon as I got some wifi and a free 10 mins.
Thanks for the feedback Josh.
Could be your best video yet dude! Awesome riding! Longer the better I say!
Thanks Kevin!
Perfect length video. Nice to see some of the tech up as well. Wish I had your skill and guts. Surprised your bike and wheels can hold up to the abuse. Keep the vids coming
Moab eats bikes, haha.
technical climbing is a freaking blast to watch man!
Just right.... I felt exhausted just watching .. awesome 👍🏼
Absolutely awesome movie length video!! The Best footage on UA-cam and in an Apple that I maybe passing😀✊️
Thanks Mitch!!
If the content is this rich, longer is fine! Great stuff. I like how you seem to entertain yourself by taking a straight line no matter how many boulders there are in your way. And, of course I'd hate to see one of you fall off a cliff, but maybe, just once, into something like that little creek ... ?
A fabulous video! Major skills and awe inspiring scenery!
Good clear footage great views we don't have lot stuff to ride in uk 🇬🇧 like you guys 🚒👍
What an amazing landscape
Always inspiring.
Loved the longer video format!
Holly sh*t Nate you had some pretty awesome/scary lines over the rocks avoiding turns!
Love the wheelie drop! Lighting on the last segment was awesome
Dead stop to 6 ft huck!
too long ? hahaha maybe not long enough
Good to see Kyle again..that guy has some sick skills
Loop that shit Vlad! Good to be riding with the Mayor again!
Love the longer vids man, keep it up.. Cheers from Kansas!
Thanks for the feedback!
Nate Hills Oh ya, more back cam footy! Love that shit
Met Kyle on a Burro Pass shuttle ride. He was our shuttle driver! I knew he was a bad ass when I saw his name at the top of every strava segment on the trails we rode in Moab. The guy is a technical riding SOB!
Mears is my hero!
Damn Bro, some of these sea lines were sick as hell. Keep shredding and remember to Live-Life-Loud!!
Rowdy! Such a good pup. Bummed I didn't get ahab or Jackson on my trip
Good dog. 🐶Next time!
WOW !!! Such amazing ( terrifying sometimes..) place for a ride ! Really really love to put my tires here one day in my life...
Thank you guys for that nice nice vidéo ! ;-)
Make it happen friend, well worth a trip to Moab.
love the longer format, bummed there wasn't a longer one on your patreon page ;-)
I remember the first time I rode Jacksons, it was a constant stream of "What the f*ck?" and other associated f-bombs from my mouth. Hahhh!
I bet you clean that shit now DD!
Can't wait to do this trail in the right direction when I'm in Moab next week. I'll see if I hike less of it going down.
You did it backwards? Ha
Yup. I'm a moron. This year I've got shuttle runs and guides all planned, hopefully I don't get lost or end up doing things completely wrong.
It will be that much better when you figure it out. Haha. Enjoy!
Awesome video, 5:22 is one of the sickest moves ever !
Amazing scenery and trails. I'm doing mountainbiking videos myself - but still figuring out the best setup. Asides from that I have only totally different landscapes available at my door step :)
Enjoy.
Sweet as always! Sure am enjoying the two feet of snow I got at my house in Frisco yesterday. Isn't it supposed to be summer already.
Hope you went skiing...... I'm out of here, haha.
Of course! A-basin was packed but still good.
Good work.
Awesome video. Think I need to plan a visit from Scotland. What gimbal you using? Very stable.
I have links to my setup in the video descriptions if you are interested. Thanks for watching!
This whole crew of riders is f****** savage. Sick riding!
Love the longer videos. Love that dog, too. :)
Rowdy dog is special.
I liked seeing some nuances of the trail. I want to hit it up. Odd Hike a bikes climbs etc. Good work- Also liked the deer creek run on my home course. Great work climbing the wall. Never made it myself :(
I didn't clean the top of the wall. Need to come back and give it another go!
Hello Nate!
Can I ask you which model of Maxxis tire are you using on front wheel? Can be used on a xc bike?
Thanks a lot!
Remus
I run a Minion DHF 2.5 and Aggressor rear 2.3 for most types of riding. You will need to see if your frame clearance is adequate do run large tires.
absolutely love this edit. the scenery is amazing 💪
Thanks for watching!
Awesome vid! 10 minutes is perfect
Thanks Tom.
so beautiful there!
The river view is distracting.....
It so scary as it seems, because jackson's trail looked really dangerous with really sharp edge rocks. amazing! defenetly
Vow, this is absolutely crazy what you're doing! I can't believe you are still alive and heathy! Just wondering how many years of practice would it require to ride like you?
I have been riding for my entire life.
I like the longer vids for sure! It's nice to see more of the trail and sweet riding.
Not sure how you dudes make it UP some of those parts!
Thanks for watching! Some of the harder uphill maneuvers anywhere.
Amazing video! fantastic views, amazing skills.
Thanks!
nice riding longer videos is always good thing, keep up the good work
I think its a perfect edit and omg that scenery 👌🤗😍
Thanks 👌🏻
Perfect Nate. In fact, as enjoyable as last week's vid was, I didn't quite get my fix. This one however, is right in the sweet spot.
Thanks for the feedback John.
You guys are such amazing riders. Keep shredding.
amazing at watching top notch riders make that tech look so easy and smooth.....
Good skill, I may never be able to ride as you did in the video
Killer vid!
Super technical trail Badass
Favorite video so far! Amazing as usual!
That’s some beautiful footage
Gorgeous views. I love your channel
Thanks!
Insane skill of riding, awesome stuff nate!
Awesome Vid!! Great views and skills unreal! From the Canucks!!
Another great edit (the extra length is good). But your making the rest of us look bad, dude! I couldn't even *walk* down most of that stuff, let alone ride it... 😂
Wow wow wow!! That looks amazing!!!
Would a hard tail be able to handle it?
LOVE the longer length edits. Crazy riding, and the game of front wheel "rock flick" was hilarious. Shenanigans! It was like deja vu at the first, because it appeared to be the same start that you use to go to climb up to Captain Ahab. I don't think anyone in our group had ever even heard of Jackson's Trail, but it looked to be a longer descent than Capt Ahab and every bit as technical.
Jackson's is more natural and technical than Ahab. Nice contrast really.
Thanks for the reply. I'll have to put Jackson's and Portal Trail on the list for next visit for sure. A few of those spots looks REALLY hairy regarding exposure, with what appeared to be some pretty technical areas leading into them. Portal Trail looks to have quite a bit as well.
There was one spot on Ahab, where the warning sign is, that made me a little queasy and our group all walked that short section. I'm not too proud to do that on the really bad exposed areas for the trade off of all of the incredible trail without it. Being "advanced" doesn't make a fear of heights go anywhere. My stomach turned the first time we rode out near the bluffs on Porc Rim, and it took me a while to feel comfortable. :-)
You boys ain't right in the head... DUDE, that was awesome! So awesome!
your vids make me feel like going out side and shred th trails!
That's the goal 🤘🏻
I did this ride, biffed twice, it is way worse in person, the camera doesn't do it justice, the drops that you take feel way way bigger, it is rough, you land on slippery rocks and have tight turns right after. It is a pretty nutty ride. These guys are legit.
Awesome one man, it's perfect like that
