Dear Brother H... your snorkel must be very long! But you look good. Thank you so much for the time and service you give so freely. I have been in so many hospitals and I know how uncomfortable these chairs are and how all over uncomfortable it is to sit beside a person that is in pain and not being able to take on a part of the pain. And how comforting it is for the person lying in bed to know that there is somebody keeping watch. Thank you for making the people involved in history come to life for me. 1:12 to 1:25 "What is property unto me?" What a powerful response to the materialism that consumes the attention of our culture today! Thank you for spending so much time on this. I spent 30 years of my public practice of law, in part, helping people through divorce. It always amazed me when some people put their fight about "stuff" (yes, I used that technical legal term with my clients") above their concern for making sure that their children weren't harmed by their fighting. And I was also amazed when some very wise people gave up "stuff" quite willingly to keep the peace and preserve whatever relationship might exist between parents, so that the fight didn't escalate. And this is but one example of how the Babylon culture we live in can turn truth and priorities on their heads and get things so terribly wrong. Thank you again. This is a message we all need a constant reminder about. Yes, we need to be responsible. But if it really all belongs to the Lord, shouldn't we be more like prudent stewards than proud, covetous owners of a "drop in the bucket" of what the Lord can provide, if we serve Him well?

I have felt incredible happiness when I finally saw this week’s video posted. I was worried about you and had thought something must’ve happened within your family. Guess I wasn’t far off the mark. You are such an incredible gospel doctrine teacher and do so appreciate your faith, knowledge, and dedication to sharing your talents with the other Saints. It is my prayer that these lessons will continue throughout the Old and New Testament as well as any you may have missed from the Book of Mormon. May the Lord bless you and keep your family safe. And may He bless you with enough strength to keep you from drowning.

I'm curious...I couldn't help but hear a hidden sadness in the Prophet's voice as he bid us farewell, "Until we meet again."

I know great trials are before us & I believe he knows even as Nephi & Mormon knew.
And although we will all have real reasons to feel terror, confusion & rage, all will be well if we sue for peace & forgive. (Though there are always times where the pistol helps the meek avoid harm & even pause a "mobber" from doing great evil while caught up in a temporary mob mentality).
The times ahead are meant to fully change us into a Zion people. I KNOW that we will see the God of the impossible!
After all, what has our version of reality ever done to inhibit Him revealing His Majesty & Might? He LOVES blowing our reality out of the water If we will but believe in Him & step out in faith.
And that is what you've done all your life. So I know that God the Father is preparing you to fully realize the spiritual gills you've been breathing with all along. (So much for the snorkel! Lol.)
I sincerely love & thank you. And please, thank your family for their sacrifice. Someday I hope to meet & thank you all in person. On this or the other side of the veil. 🙏💟😇

Brother Halverson, there is never a need to apologize for posting later than usual! Every video is a gift that we are very grateful to receive. Of course, your family comes before the podcast. And, for me it was a relief that there wasn't another one posted. I have been playing catch-up and get stressed when I see another one posted when I haven't finished the previous one.
There are several people in my ward who follow Unshaken, including one of the Relief Society teachers. Your ideas and explanations about certain scriptures often make into the lesson. In fact, a few weeks ago, she played that beautiful sequence you did about temples a few episodes ago. It was where you showed pictures of many different temples and you were speaking in the background. So you're pretty famous in the Hillcrest 1st Ward in American Fork, UT!

This guy gives us so much only to have less time with his family & his actual students.
To ask for more when he's apologizing all over himself for being late because his doctoral dissertation is due & he's spent the week 'sleeping' on a hospital chair/bed/cot thing with his daughter is a little... painful.
I know it's easy to get distracted or skip the intro but we sometimes get too okay with having our hands out for more from our favorite content creators.
And I'm sure Brother H. is gracious enough to take it as a compliment...
But wow. That's a lot of pressure. And time. And laboring in the Spirit.
I've continually had to relearn to slow down & Use my Comments to TRY being more "them-centric" seeking to lift, thank, support & love on that person.
I'd hate to ask for more or even expect a reply.
I don't know. It's so easy to get the 'overwhelmed, empty bucket syndrome'. My Comments are a Potential Lifeline, or the very last straw of a beautiful, free-will offering to the Lord.

I feel like I missed something about the name of our church. How is the “…of Latter Day Saints” part of our name in reference to Heavenly Mother? Also, thank you for your insights- I love this podcast
Latter-Day Saints is the Church -the Bride. The Savior is the Bridegroom (the Father and the Mother). At least that's how I understood it.
I think about how often the Lord has said “What I say unto one, I say unto all” and “my people” when I read the command to complete the temple in Far West. We are all his people

Brother Halverson, my research on Olaha Shinehah: The word “Shinehah” appears in Abraham 3:13 as a word for the sun and “Olea” as a word for the moon. Janne M. Sjodahl and Hyrum M. Smith have speculated that “Olaha” might be a variant of “Olea.” If so, the plains of “Olaha Shinehah” would be the Plains of the Moon and the Sun.

Thank you for all you do. I'm a permanent sub at a high school; moral relativism is taught as the norm; in a very careful way without there being any connection to religious values, I diligently try to show them how moral relativism is not true. The example of the basketball game will help. Are you able to share more how to find the utube of the moving dart board?

This lesson helps me understand how I became so blindly zealous in my faith. There is a careful balance I’ve came to understand, that God does not intend for blessings to come after ignorance or blind devotion. God is not meant to be a scapegoat for personal responsibility.
