It seems she's on some kind of medication. She slurs. She Stutters. And takes a while to compose her sentences. Something is not quite right there. Contrary to many of her fans on this posts, I do not find her articulate at all In interviews. She never interviews well as a subject because of her defensiveness. This lack of focus and distraction of Madonna's has been a common thread throughout this whole Madame X promotion on various tv chat shows (watch Graham Norton) and interviews such as the Andrew Denton one. Has she taken up drinking alcohol? Seems that it's alcohol plus medication (anti-depressants?) not sure...
You must be super young, or lived in a cave.... Madonna has been doing interviews for years, has done several movies, a couple documentaries on her life and even came on Will and Grace 😂😂😂
@@jeanniesPlanet I live in Italy and I'm not a big fan; hence those appearances were not so evident to me as to the rest of the World but US people I guess
The album is a pure masterpiece. Honestly, don't listen to the media and the tabloids trashing her due to her age. This is easily one of the best albums of the year. Go & listen for yourself.
Madonna is so expressive nowdays. She seems to be in a lot of emotional pain, but not in a bad way. I guess she was always tormented but as she got older she is more open to her feelings and emotions. In the past she was addicted to fame, scandals, achievements, exercise and a non-stop work schedule. Right now she seems more in peace with her own tormented self.
Firstname Lastname Really? Well, I don't, this latest album is really awful and she's always so stiff and standoffish in her interviews. I miss that old Madonna you're talking about so much.
A woman addicted to fame, scandals, achievements and exercises, how dare! Madonna has been persecuted by the media, society and the world, just for not playing the expected role, for not only smiling and saying that everything is fine, everything is just a "misunderstanding". No, it's not okay, a woman has the right to seek, to dream and to have the goals she wants. Why don't you, and everyone else, also blame powerful men who, like her, are addicted to work, fame and power? Do you blame a woman for not presenting the virtues you and society expect, and then you and your friends bother with commercials denouncing ''toxic masculinity''?
" Do you know how much you mean to people?" I have the answer: When I was a teenager, I decided to learn English to understand each of your words...I eventually became an English teacher, so Madame X, let me tell you that you brought me happiness and a JOB. I am so happy about it that each year, one of my units of work in class is dedicated to YOU :-)
Bertrand Scuiller ...amazing!! Most people would pick someone to admire like, Anne Frank or Mother Teresa, etc. no you choose Madonna or her alter ego Madame X. By the Way, I took your English class, can’t write a sentence but I dance like a mfer.
It’s weird. The echo of the room brings such an open and honest take to this interview. It’s almost dark. It’s almost like your in the room. Or down the hall. Listening to 2 people talk amongst themselves.
Imagine working at a printing press or any random job and being the #1 guy at each or any job. Now imagine maintaining that excellence and staying #1 for 40 years. This is Madonna's career. Absolutely amazing.
'This is not background music.' I couldn't agree more. I've listened to this album probably 6 times all the way through, each time with a really great set of headphones on. And during each listen I find something new. 'Madame X' is sonically Madonna's best work since 'Ray of Light' and she has every right to be very proud of it. It's just a shame that the powers that be in the game of commercial radio (and it IS a game) won't give these songs a wider audience - they only see her as 'an icon' or 'a legend,' not as 'an artist.'
NothingHereToSeeMoveOn ...me too. I listened to it 12 times in a row. Also with good headphones and hear things I didn’t hear before. Mostly horrible things, this last time I thought she was telling me to get lip injections and buy an eye patch. I’m going back and listen to it until she gives me some positive affirmation.
I miss Madonna’s interviews, we haven’t heard her talking since Madame X period. It would be nice to hear her new outlook and thoughts about life since 2019.
I love Madonna's new persona. She's more vulnerable, self aware & laid back now but from time to time, she still knows how to pack a punch with her witty observations. I love when she said that she does not expect the whole world to like her new record. But only a handful who appreciates this new musical direction is more than enough. And I definitely love the eyepatch symbolism, wounded but resilient. This is a great reinvention!
Madonna is definitely the most relevant female artist of all times... Again... And once more ... Her album hit number 1 today in more then 60 countries. ... All the haters here below should just shove it.... And get out of here. No space for ignorance here and for ugly stupid comments. Madonna is an incredible human being! And a true unstoppable huge superstar . ♥️
Candace Bennett Karen Carpenter got hits for about five minutes, and is completely forgotten by everyone under a certain age. Cannot hold a candle to Madonna.
@@PDC1987 Yeah keep telling yourself that. She didn't hump everything on stage like Madonna did. She had a gorgeous voice for people who appreciate music.

@@tanz5389 So..? How is that any correlated to the quality of the album..? And there goes another mindless sheep stupidly assimilating commercial success with quality. Ugh. Anyways, the album is in fact absolute garbage.
@ There is always good and bad things when artists take different ways to keep creating. I love that she has always been risky and never repeated herself, but in the last years I found her very lazy in her music, not innovative but just making mainstream music like just for paying her bills. I found her last records repetitive, boring and mediocre. And her last move making reggaeton was the last straw for me because I loathe this... music.
The stupidty and arrogance of todays simple minds. To attack her simply because she is the age she is.. Wake up ! We must learn to appreciate life goes in stages.
They aren't attacking her. They expose all the insane surgeries she had had done. She needs to see a therapist and not another plastic surgeon. She obviously does not love herself
@@palestar828 changing your look (which is the same with plastic surgery) has, in fact, nothing to do with "hating yourself"... this is just a stupid and way too simple way of thinking. She's evolving herself as an artist over and over again, that is and ALWAYS was her biggest passion. And yes, she also uses plastic surgeries for that, but to criticize her because of that is exactly as dumb as criticizing her for being in her age. Because? Because it is not our business at all... take her as an artist as SHE wants to be or leave her alone. It is THAT easy, but people love to hate and criticize on other people lifes. But it isn't your life... your opinion is completely irrelevant. Get.Over.It! lmao
@@visualhatefvck a lot of people get plastic surgery done because they dislike themselves so I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't even read your whole rant because it doesn't make sense. She looks ridiculous to me. She needs to see a therapist and accept aging. It happens to everyone.
She is one of the most successful women alive today in music and performance art. Haters seem to be threatened by powerful women with strong opinions. Bringing up her age or telling her to retire is the cheapest jab at her I can think of. We all age and being old is a state of mind. We should all aspire to have this kind of fire and work ethic when we are 60 or older. Slowing down is as good as being dead.
Madonna is phenomenal. One problem tho. She can't let herself relax and just be. Always controlling, always doubting everyone, criticizing, looking down... There are tons of signs that she's very insecure little girl yet powerful great woman. So weird.
I feel she's like that.. Because when she speaks her mind, (like in her early years)... Everything got twisted... Now I feel she takes everything with a pitch of salt because she feels all interviews may end up with bad press... I mean everyone wants to pull her down... She's Madonna!!!
Great interview. I love the vulnerability she shows here, the butterflies...the caring about what people think of her record. Always so smart too. "God is always there, taunting me, daring me...a God to give thanks to and to question."
I just read that her new album is expecting to sale as much as 100k this week in the US alone and that it’s breaking a record...crazy how nearly 40 years in the business she still proves she has the staying power among the top pop artists of today...no wonder she’s The Queen of pop! Go Madonna
She grabbed the LGBT crowd because she needed them to sell albums to. She cares about money and being idolized. She played them, that's all. Ultimate manipulation for money. She's gotta pay her taxes.
@@nightowls7324 Yah, most people I know couldn't even name a song she had since the 90s. I remember Frozen. My issue had always been with her, is that instead of focusing on raw talent, she made her entire career over shocking people.....but she's now ran out of things to come up with, other than acting silly on tiktok
She does speak about her venerability. She said "that is essential." I also think (and I may be projecting here,) aging is not fun, no matter who you are. I read more and more comments about her age, and the work she may have done on her face...I think as we age, we can become more fragile and again, venerable.
God Madonna is fantastic when she’s asked intelligent questions. Also: “Some of them are more charming, some are more cultured, some listen better” she handing compliments there sir.
Lately the educated reporters seem the most joyful and interesting. She seems to check with him for constant validation. “Don’t take your eyes off me.” He was ever so classy. And a perfect interviewer.
I like how she says "It's not that kind of a record". She made an album that she wanted to make and seems less bothered abut having a huge hit. Good on her.
This is potentially the best interview Madonna has ever given. Because it wasn't an interview! You could easily see, and easily gain from their interaction, that this was a conversation between friends.
The reason why she's so influential is because she is is a protective, scared, famous, over protective woman... But when she released music or is on stage she is magic... And thats why she is successful... Yes she does have an ego.. But its a crushed ego... She is aware of her success but is also scared it'll go... She's not an ego maniac like people want her to be.. She just a normal woman that speaks her mind and get nervous about it but can do it well!
I wouldn't use the word normal, she is human yes, and feels vulnerable sometimes like we all do, but normal no, she has bought herself creative freedoms that most can only dream about - she is highly self developed.
Madonna I love you have since 1984. We as fans do care about you and will love you to the end. Madame X is a masterpiece for sure but I think there is a lot more to come from you something entirely different and unique to you and your talent. Loved what you said about God and how you always as why. I can relate. Love you forever. Je t'aime Queen of Pop there will never be another like you
No her influence comes from her devil worship! She is a satanist and uses rictuals in her music... Those listening to her music are participating in these rictuals!
Madonna looks very tired and sad in this interview. People need to start to enjoy her . Michael and prince and Whitney is gone . Madonna is pure artist
#1 in 60 COUNTRIES on release date must be such a kick in the balls for all those pathetic, ageist, sexist low-'energy' haters. That's the thing with trolls - they're just loud(er) cause they're bitter and wanna get heard. These days with SM everyone just seem to be a critic and lash out. I actually feel sorry for them cause it must be exhausting! Madonna seems to have the last laugh after all... Her new album is phenomenal I have to say! Best one since 'Confessions' (at least!) #LOVE
A hundred points for your comment. Some people Just hate her. Maybe caus they cant reach her. So they invent what they pretend to be justification for their hate. Quite pathetic, I Say. Long Live the Queen and the GODDESS! VIVA MADONNA!
This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen with her. Harry's an equal and they can match each other's intellect. It's a lot more exposed than normal (you can tell she's nervous about speaking so frankly) and the content is fascinating.
Of all the things I admire about Madonna the main ones; creativity, courage and persistence. We could all learn to be more of who we really are without fear of other people's judgement.
People say what a shame it is when a talented woman dies young, then they criticize women who age for getting old. You will never please everyone, so you do you. For the haters: she doesn't need your approval. Who are you anyway? She is an icon.
Me @51 yrs. : Am honestly one of the conflicted people about how I feel about Madonna ; but in all I believe about her no matter what I feel I must take a bow and love her as I have since the tender age of sixteen. I can not imagine conquering my adolescence and young adulthood without Madonna's music and inspiration for survival. As much as I have not always felt the way she does about peoples life differences and beliefs ; I believe she has not only commanded respect and deserves it but I know she has earned it .
This album is so good. It’s going to take a spot as one of her best ever 🙌 it needs to be listened to in full, like she said. As a whole piece of art 😎🙌
Fernando Quinones I totally agree! I felt the same about both songs until I heard them in the full context. Even the bonus songs are awesome! Still listening 😍
It think maybe, its because they really cant find anything else to complain about. I'm sure most of all her haters have danced to her music at the clubs, Hypocrites.
She really is quite fascinating to listen to because she has superb insight and a unique perspective on life as a person of worldly fame. Her intelligence, drive and creative spark set her apart from so many other singers who have come and gone while Madonna has powered on during 4 decades! As someone in his early 40s, I am inspired by her refusal to let age (and ageism) stop her pursuing her creative dreams.
One of Madonna's best interviews. And it is noticeable how well and kindly I say the Interviewer handled the interview. What struck me and made me sad was the part where she wasn't 'sure what she means to people'. Obvious, as much as many love her; way too many hate her. They Just hate her. Maybe caus they can't reach her. So they invent what they pretend to be justification for their hate. Quite pathetic, I Say. Long Live the Queen and the GODDESS! VIVA MADONNA! I am always loving her. True Leader.
It’s so nice to see a softer Madonna. Still has bite but more sensitive. Love the new album and I think her fans want her to be number one everywhere! 👑💖❌💫
FabyoulousfabTaurus Tiger .....it’s a lot easier to get softer and more sensitive when you’re 60 but I got meaner and grumpier. I wear two eye patches.
"Who's Madame X"? How many times are interviewers going to ask this, a simple google search would answer that. It's Madonna for god's sake, I have SO many questions for this woman besides that one.
She keeps getting asked tho because she has made it so prominent in this project- like Dita for Erotica. Plus, these interviewers have to inform their specific audiences- most non Madonna fans aren’t consuming all the stories I get so many people won’t know who madame x is unless it comes into their world
Actually, no. It is a famous play long before Madonna was born and Martha Graham never called Madonna that during her time at the school, nor would Martha say the ridiculous things Madonna stated (about Madonna reminding her of a secret agent, changing her look all the time, etc. ) because Madonna wasn't even changing her looks during that time and Madame X wasn't a spy. Martha was educated enough where she would never have connected that nonsense. Martha wasn't teaching then, (she was in her 80s), and she was in poor health. She wasn't meeting with individual student troublemakers. That is beyond ridiculous that anyone would buy her story. Madonna didn't even meet Martha until after she became famous. In all the years of stories, Madonna never mentioned this supposed nickname until she decided to name her album/character this. Too funny. And Martha isn't around to dispute it. Madonna has always been good at media manipulation, but we older folks know the truth. Looking away, btw, isn't a "tell". Psychopaths, for example, lie all the time without looking away and honest people will look away to collect thoughts. Ms. M is full of it.
Good interview ,interesting questions, You can tell they have professional chemistry. Let's appreciate the fact how GREAT her skin is and how amazing her doctor is. Long live the Queen of Pop !
Excellent interview. This is how a pro does it, and it proves that it's not necessarily about identity or anything else... Sometimes you just need to do your research, and, when it's Madonna, you should do A LOT. This correspondent clearly did, and he asked a lot of the questions that us die hard fans want to hear her talk about. Thank you both.

After all these years it's the first time I got curious to hear her voice when she's not singing. She is charming actually.

Exercise addicted, British, slim faced Madonna was everything.
@@FirstnameLastname-nx1oh You mean 2000's Madonna? Or was it Ray of light?
She’s incredible. There’s no one on Madonna’s level. Highly intelligent, full of love for life, always on her own wave. Just perfect.

I love the fragility of her here. She is just so eloquent
She anything but fragile. She's a f#cking boss. She shows vulnerability, but not fragility.

Madonna fan for ages here. For me, it is the WORST album from her ever. I never thought she should retire until she made this one.
@ I think that from Hard Candy on every album got worse than the last. Hard Candy was the last album of her I bought, and I wasn't very fond of it.
@ There is always good and bad things when artists take different ways to keep creating. I love that she has always been risky and never repeated herself, but in the last years I found her very lazy in her music, not innovative but just making mainstream music like just for paying her bills. I found her last records repetitive, boring and mediocre. And her last move making reggaeton was the last straw for me because I loathe this... music.
Me too.. I went out of my way and bought the tee shirt as well.

@@palestar828 i think she still looks good.
Get.Over.It! lmao

She is one of the most successful women alive today in music and performance art. Haters seem to be threatened by powerful women with strong opinions. Bringing up her age or telling her to retire is the cheapest jab at her I can think of. We all age and being old is a state of mind.
