I was also offended by the video that mentioned learning the language, since I'm also learning the language because of Kpop and I also tend to watch many videos about South Korea and Japan and many K-Dramas, but the difference is, that I dived much deeper into the language and started to learn online with korean people too and learning the language by consuming the media and visiting korean classes.

Tbh I eat with chopsticks only because it looked really exciting to learn how to use them. Also, I've tried learning Korean and there were a lot of times where I gave up and came back. I even talked in some words in Korean after getting into Kdrama and became used to it. Learning the Korean language is honestly very interesting and the writing looked really nice. I'm a kpop stan and kdrama lover only because I enjoy listening and watching it. When I first got into kpop, I honestly wanted to go to korea, China and Japan just to see the sights and eat the food. In all honesty, I only chose to do or thought of this only because I wanted to or liked it. So idk why a lot of ppl go so far into changing their entire race to be fully Korean or do cringy videos.

A Koreaboo is someone who physically wants TO BE Korean, want to change their ethnicity to Korean. A Koreaboo is someone who denounces their own culture and ethnicity to be a “Korean”.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with learning Korean! In fact, I highly encourage that you DO learn Korean. Speaking as someone who is learning Korean, learning a foreign language opens a lot of doors for you, and will really expand your view of the world. If anyone calls you a Koreaboo for learning Korean, they can go screw themselves. Learning about other cultures and languages is a beautiful thing, and I honestly wish we had more people who were willing to learn about other cultures.
