Really I didn't think it was that long, I can listen and read real history for hours. It's much better than the fake history I've had to endure most of my life.
At your suggestion I ordered the book. And I could not put it down. One of the best books about Texas frontiersmen I’ve ever read. Thanks for the suggestion!
BFW had granite gonads for sure, he was very savvy with the Natives ways. Imagine sitting down and having a few beers with the man, bit of a eye opener i imagine.
Sometimes the UA-cam algorithm puts some gems on my suggested watch. That's how I found your channel. Just binge listened to the Bigfoot Wallace episodes, great stuff! It's a shame they don't teach Texas history in Texas schools, I know I didn't learn much. Thanks for putting this history out for us! I'm going to get these books you are reading out to us!
Glad i found your video's, i been watching Texas Rangers on Legends of the Old West,,,,,,,now i have more great history to learn. I been asking older and any Texans if they know who Jack Hays, Ben McCulloch, Samuel Walker, Robert Gillespie or Bigfoot Wallce are ??? Out of 15 to 20 people, one person knew them, 1 said she heard of Ben McCulloch and thats IT. I live between McCulloch and Gillespie Counties, Comanche Creek runs thru our ranch, i found a Lance head and Arrow heads and i fleshing rock thats really cool. Its a shame that more people know who johnny depp is more than these 5 bad to Bone Great American Warriors are. If i was Governor of Texas we would celebrate them for a Month, and you wouldnt pass 12 grade if you couldnt tell me everything about these 5 Great Texans,,,Captain Jack Hays,,,,,Captain Robert Gillespie,,,,Captain Samuel Walker,,,,Captain Ben McCulloch and Captain William Anderson Wallace,,,aka Bigfoot Wallace,,,,,, RIP Great Texas Warriors,,,bravest of Men,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well said Mark Gray. My Texas Sowell/Sewell family arrived at Gonzales Texas in 1829. John Newton Sowell led the family to Texas for the land grants. John Newton Sowell was one of the Gonzales 18 who refused to surrender their 5 pounder 13:48 brass cannon. Several of his sons served in the Texas revolution. One son, Andrew Jackson Sowell, served at the Alamo. A cousin of the family, Marcus L. Sewell fell at the Alamo. The reputation of the Sowell/Sewell men of Texas was that we usually don't die of natural causes. I'm proud of that. It shows my family men know there are somethings worth fighting for, and possibly dying for. God bless, America. a
So lucky i travel many of the places that are mentioned in these stories hauling crude oil around texas and the great plains. The towns all named after characters. Lived on a REZ for 5 years North Dakota. Made friends with many tribes and mexicans.
BFW scouted a stage coach trail from Austin to El Paso. On the far west side of the Guadalupe National Park (get key at park hq) the road to Williams Ranch travels along that trail for a short ways. Unfortunately in recent years some do goodies have destroyed the reality of the Williams Ranch Home.
Great story! I have a video entitled, "Indian Wars" that details many native atrocities against whites and helps explain the mutual animosity the seperate cultures had against one another. One attack, leads to another and scores to settle. True history, written by those who lived it.
Great story I cant stop bingeing these videos and I was never really that interested in the old west. Gotta say Bigfoot had a very charitable attitude towards the coward hiding in the brush during their fighting. Surprises me!
I will ask the question as to whether Bigfoot Wallaces rifle is currently on display in a Texas museum?. If so, perhaps one day a replica of this famous rifle may yet grace shooting ranges?
I really enjoyed the story, but I wanted to point out that Chaparral is pronounced "Shaperal" and refers to low growing grassy plants about 18 inches high and has shallow roots and is mostly dry. It makes good tinder, but accounts for a lot of California forest fires.
Does anyone know the connection between Bigfoot Wallace and the town of Bigfoot? I assumed it was his Homestead at one time but it seems like he's always in San Antonio
"Cruel and evil" , no they as rangers had to fight and protect the frontier. I say this as a descendant of his brother Joseph who rangered with him. If you saw the stuff my ancestor wrote you would KNOW as to WHY they were BRUTAL. Keep crying.

That's what SHE said!~ Seriously though, well stated and duly noted; the revised history they feed our kids now is pathetic.
Well then, are yall ready to tackle the Lincoln myth? Check out Brion McClanahan youtube channel.

Great video! Thank you

Hey this is great stuff. Thanks so much..
Great story, thanks! Every now and then you will run into a man like Wallace with nerves of steel, but it is infrequent.
I wonder what Mr. Wallace would think of our people today? He'd probably have a heart attack or brain aneurysm, at least.
He'd be lost, the rules and complications of modern life would be far to much.

I think he would lose it when some libtard told him how many genders we have now.
