My two serama hens went broody together and sat on the same nest, with the rooster joining them at night😊, they sat on 14 eggs and 10 hatched. The chicks are like bumble bees ❤

Yes, I keep seramas. I currently have 5 young seramas--2 roosters and 3 hens. If I lived in the country, I would want to keep regular sized chickens, but seramas will do for now. I keep them in a rabbit cage. The roosters don't crow as loudly as the bigger chickens. They are actually quieter than parrots. Seramas do make nice pets. I'm certainly glad that I have them.
We do the same. Have a run for them outside and diapers to run around the house. Use your serama eggs In recipes. 3 serama eggs to each 1 called for. Enjoy

Do you have them in a zoned area that doesn’t allow any crowing fowl? Cuz I do and I want a serama rooster for my two traditional 8 week old serama pullets. I’m afraid the rooster will annoy my neighbors and that they will report me to the city.
I am a new Serama owner. I got 14 eggs from a local breeder. I just hatched 2 rooster and 6 hens. They will get under my hand just like they would a hen. I can get all 8 of them under my hand. I think that I will really enjoy this tiny birds.

My favorite breed! I have two laying hens and one active rooster and only recently have been able to establish them after over a year of trying. My prize Serama hen recently went broody and after two days of thinking she was probably dead I spotted her today and she had been sitting on her nest in the bottom of a junk pile! I decided to let her incubate her nest for fear of damaging the whole thing.
Do you eat the eggs? How are they?
I keep serama and silkies and I love the temperament of both. But the serama I find are even more friendly than the silkies I have! My silkies are amazing mothers, but the serama just love being held and cuddled. If my cat wasn't such a butthead I would totally keep my favorite rooster in the house with us. He is such a sweet character. He taught my favorite hen to run from across the yard to jump into my arms. Right now they are raising a silkie and serama chick together so I don't have them out as much. But they are great parents together.
I feel like this is a kind of chicken you would see in a fantasy setting with the way they stand

In Malaysia they have even smaller strains of serama nowadays.. it’s called serama size AAA
I don't get why people keep saying they're expensive. I buy hatching eggs for about £2 an egg here in the UK.
Where would you get a Serema egg in the uk?
Depends on the source, like with all bred animals. I can get 'silkies' from the feed store up the road for $4 a chick thatare KINDA fuzzy, but getting pure bred ones will bank ya 30$ a pullet.

I have 3 boys :) they live in the house & wear diapers. They have a large hutch in their own room. On nice days they go out & wander the property with the big girls. I love my boys :)
How in earth do yall keep rhem from gwtting bullied and beung scared of the regular sized chicks?ive had to pull my one seama four times from the flock because they are ganging up and trying to make her submit to her place at the bottom of the oecking krder but she us too small and weak for them to do that. For now she is just inside with us and we arent sure what to do. She doesn't stop peeping either unless she us literally unconscious asleep. They peep all the way uo will they are fully asleep. My friend has all her litter mates and they sing thenselves to sleep she said. Would ve cute if ahe didnt do this 24/7. We are already attached to her, though and have no clue what to do with her unless we lock the cats and dog up and let her have run of the 😂 house which is not okay either. 🤷🏻♀️
She’s probably peeping to call a flock. They want to belong with others. Perhaps get a little friend for her.

I'm not so sure, being birds. Chicken diapers are an option though. People make them and sell them online.
You CAN get nappies ( diapers) for them, just Google it and you will find where to get them. If you don't want that route then they can be trained to use a cat littler box. As for the crying is probably due to either feeling lonely or it is saying it wants to be neR you and held near your heart, hope that helps. I have 6 saramha chickens , 3 pairs . Love them and would happily keep them in the house if hubby would let me . 😅
