Nicely done review Jack. I agree with others that you should do a follow up with how you feel about the fridge in say a month or so of actually using it. This fridge would not work for our family, we need a bigger freezer than fridge compartment and I would hate having to dig into those lower bins. Oh, and, I love fridge magnets. :) We have both a whiteboard for a shopping list/appointments and just random magnets from vacations.

I have had many... MANY service calls due to the freezer and bottom shelves of the fridge freezing up. I'm so glad I bought the extended warranty, as it can take quite a while before enough ice forms and you notice it. My advice: if you have any issues with a Sears appliance, request a Sears technician, or they will subcontract to ... who knows who. My last tech was a Sears tech and it seems he has finally fixed the problem. 6 trips later. Such a waste of my time with the other technicians. Get a Sears repair person. Request one. Demand one. It matters
David D DEMAND a SeArs Tech. Got a sub contractor and paid them. They reported me as not paying have been fighting a credit report ever since. In fact I will NEVER do business with SeArs again over this very issue. I have bank statements and kept receipts they just keep switching credit companies so I have to start over. NEVER AGAIN WITH SEARS.
I have a negative comment that's constructive. I bought one of these in 2016 and it lasted just over 2 years before it broke down. My Frigidair that I purchased in 1988 is still working fine and never failed me once.
Nice review! I have the 2015 version. Exactly the same, except the app thingy. Love how everything placed, very practical. There is one more small compartment on the bottom of the right door. Always forgot about that one.

I would shop around. you can get new for around $2700. They have less expensive models that don't have the app/smart features. There are many to choose from. The side by side is also a lower price. it's all what you want.
My 28 yo Kenmore is on life support I’m so sad and the anxiety looking for a new one behind it’s back is unreal -who knew - and everyday that I’ve taken it for granted just pains me more. It’s a side by side and I’ve opted for a Kenmore Elite so screw all you haters, warning people that “they don’t last or they’re horrible.” Refrigerators deserve love too! As much as I paid for it compared to 28 years ago I can remove the shelves and be buried in it, save money on the casket. Great review on the Kenmore Elite!
I purchased a Kenmore model 795.7259. 12/2019. By the way when you demonstrate a product it would be very helpful to your viewers if you provide what the model number is. If regret purchasing this model. The built in air filter is hard to remove could break easily. The door on the left is so heavy it slams loudly when it closes. The motor is so loud I can head it in my bedroom. And finally the crisper is put together in a way that there are some areas you cannot get into to clean. So I have developed mold and unfortunately I can’t get to it. I called several times to complain about the issue but they gave me the run around. None speak clear enough to get a decent response. I have an extended warranty that won’t cover the mold issue. Please also check the label to see what year it was built. Some have a recall. I regret buying this refrigerator. Be aware Made in China.
Yeah my kenmore elite fridge broke within 4 years. I'm so mad because they deliberately design them to break. And when I called they set up an appointment that would cost 99$ for them just to come look at it. And it was a month out! Who can wait that long just to get it looked at? We had to eat out for weeks because all our food spoiled. I can't tell you the number of people who report having the same problems. It's time for a class action lawsuit.
awesome fridge! thanks for sharing with us. have you tried the storage bins? it eliminated the problem of all the things that get stuck in the back and disappear. or the things that get knocked over and sometimes leaks a mess all over. everything in bins organizes everything and makes it all easily accessible. best thing i ever did in my kitchen. ;-)

It is fascinating to see how they have so elegantly improved the design and features within the refrigerator. Your suggestion to improve the app by integrating a shopping list is clever. Apps should add value. I understand the buzz to be a "smart" appliance, but I do not think I would use the app at all or rarely with its current features. I imagine I could just as easily access the information currently included in the app from the refrigerator. I appreciate your work.
Does anyone know if LG and Kenmore share a plant or OEM? My father has a LG french door fridge that is nearly identical to this one. No smartphone integration and some minor differences such as the ice/water controls but everything else is exactly the same.
I love my Kenmore Elite but the design of the crisper drawers allows food particles and juices to seep between two plastic sheets on the bottom near the front that are nearly impossible to clean. Any ideas would be well received!
Kenmore Elite fridges are truly THE WORST. They dont last, and there's no support after they break on you. Keep doing your research and you'll find all the HORRID reviews.....even though Sears makes you sign up for spam and jump thru hoops just to post a review. All if us Kenmore Elite fridge owners are TRYING to warn everyone, but its REALLY hard for us to keep up with all the postings. There needs to be a class-action lawsuit!
no one can answer my important question. When you open the left door the flap flips closed. When you close the left door the flap is now in the closed position. You have to open the right door in order to pull the flap back to the open position. What does that door flap do????????? Does it need to be in the open position pulled towards me? Or can it stay in the closed position? Please help!

I can’t comment on this appliance specifically. As a rule, I never buy extended warranties. They are typically high profit items for the seller and they rarely get used because most defects show up early and within the original warranty. However, for a brand new model of a complicated appliance, such as this fridge or a washer, I’d consider it. That’s especially true if the cost was $100 or less, as extended warranties commonly are. I learned this lesson with a new model front load washer. I sprung for the extended warranty. It paid for two service calls, the last one a transmission failure. At that point I thought it was too risky of a product. I got it replaced with another brand, the new one was delivered and the old one taken away. I only had to pay the price difference. Plus, the balance of the EW applied to the replacement. Thankfully, I’ve never had to use it. For uncomplicated appliances like a range or dryer, I’d probably skip the EW and take the risk. But, for something like a $3,000 refrigerator with lots of bells and whistles, if reasonably priced, I’d likely pay the extra for additional piece of mind.
Kenmore Elite we had a compressor put in Aug 2017 and Jan 2020 in Nov/Dec 2020 a new Evaporator , Condenser, Refrigerator/Freezer Assembly, Sensors A sears Tech has been to the house 8 times and the Ice /Wateri n the door do not work. We have the Sears Home Warranty plan .They will replace it give us 500$ (we payed 2500$) in Sept 2016. This one is made in Korea.
That fridge looks the same as my Kenmore elite which is made by LG. Not much has changed in 5 years on that model. I don't like the freezer. The ice production is slow but that is normal for French door. It's nice but I worry about longevity at 5 years. It runs a lot and for such expensive unit it makes you wonder about quality of the pump.

I have that refrigerator, but my ice maker worries me. When I put a glass of ice on the table, when the ice melts, there is a settlement left in the bottom of the glass. That is the problem I am having with the ice maker. What can be done about this?
Keep it for more than a few days. We are on our second one in less than a year. Now it is having the same issues. Starts with noisy compressor then it will not cool for a day or so then start working again. Takes the Sears techs several trips to deem the fridge dead enough for replacement. Glad they sent one for review but with all things not all are perfect. Next fridge will not say Kenmore or come from Sears.
Got one and it's crap. Noisy plus compressor went out after 3 years at the cost of $1200. Again it's very noisy. If I had it to do over again I'd buy a new fridge (different brand) instead of replacing the compressor. Again CRAP!!!!
dude, there is nothing new about this fridge. my 15 year old GE has everything this has, except the app and air filter. You must be using a cooler with bagged ice to get this excited about this.

My Kenmore Elite gave me a few problems with the ice maker,we disconected the refrigerator,the night we were expecting hurricane Maria to hit us,more than two months without electrical power,got it back a week ago,but the fridge is dead,.The Sears branch were we bought it 3 year ago,was destroy by the hurricane,so we get a person,who has a repair shop,and he said to get a nrw one,because the compressor was damage,and is 800 $ up,so,we still living in a mess,here in Puerto Rico,so we bought a two door Whirpool,the only thing we could find.

Your freezer's 'secret' bin (8:31) chills cut parchment, deli/canape papers, cake doilies, butcher wrap, utensils, etc. A chef's power tool!

So ill go to another frige and the same thing sombody always saying this and that go wrong or will go wrong or that will break or this is cheap! Do anyone what would be considered a good frige with great comments bc the best frige to me is the 1s for 400 bucks had a kenmore been running for 10years never even broke not once! So help bc my wife just bought the samsung!
Most of the reviews are for features and functions not reliability. This fridge didn't last me 2 years before it failed. That's junk in my opinion.

My Kenmore Elite gave me a few problems with the ice maker,we disconected the refrigerator,the night we were expecting hurricane Maria to hit us,more than two months without electrical power,got it back a week ago,but the fridge is dead,.The Sears branch were we bought it 3 year ago,was destroy by the hurricane,so we get a person,who has a repair shop,and he said to get a nrw one,because the compressor was damage,and is 800 $ up,so,we still living in a mess,here in Puerto Rico,so we bought a two door Whirpool,the only thing we could find.
