In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

Having an extra task made because of a contestent, giving out negative points..this episode is revolutionary

Lloyd challenging the rest of the cast in the rush of excitement and it absolutely blowing up in his face was 😄💪
So glad they accepted his challenge
"But your ineptitude is still the same" is the best way to describe that task.....such a funny answer

"Who said they had pride?" is the most legit Asian thing Jenny has ever said.
For anyone who's confused about the "make love to Tom" jokes: "root" is Australian slang for to have sex.
I only know this because I've seen it used in a thirst comment on the UK episodes 😂
I always remember it because of the live episode of The Dollop they did in Australia where one of the hosts said he was "rooting [for the] penguins" in the story they were telling, only for the whole audience to lose it. Coincidentally, Wil Anderson was a guest on that episode.
Thank you, I had no idea that's a thing.
Thanks
What a gross euphemism
This Aussie series is mental. I love this cast and Tom & Tom are developing their own unique identity. Go TM Aussie! Oi oi oi!
Excuse me sir, it’s is Tom… and lesser Tom.
@@carlosmontclair3808 Yes! Although, of all the international TMs I've seen, Tom & Lesser Tom have the least amount of that "Master & Servant" vibe. I can't imagine them doing that Dom-sub thing that Greg & Alex do. Tom & Lesser Tom just seem like normal Aussie chaps you see at a BBQ.
Oggy Oggy Oggy!
@@jackwang9536 two normal chaps at a BBQ, but one is noticeably lesser than the other*
The taskmaster could be less annoying though. The assistant tom is amazing however 😂
"Me and you in the dark staring at a potato" is another one for the Taskmaster book of quotes
I want to set this quote up on a blind date with "Don't make me fart into the darkness to the sound of my own name."
I never noticed that lesser Tom has koalas and kagaroos on his chair. Such a cute detail :)
Tom's a cute detail ;o
These are different thrones than they had last season! :)
True! But after watching TM Minnesota, I can't help but "hate" koalas 😝
@@luciahoneybee Minnesota has a version of taskmaster? Or something else
@@jacobreeder8101 It does! An unofficial but incredibly well done version. It has two seasons out already, both available on UA-cam. If you can, I strongly suggest watching! Especially season two, since they had a slightly better budget and were able to get microphones for the in-studio segments, so it has better sound. I've laughed just as much, if not more, than with any other official TM version!
I can tell Anne and Lloyd are great together by how when things go wrong in their tasks they just laugh instead of getting angry
Like Anne and Will, I am developing a crush on Lloyd.

The introduction of negative points changes everything
I love the banter in this episode. I think that's what makes Taskmaster Australia so especially good. It's got even better banter than other versions and still very solid tasks.
Jenny brings such a positive vibe to the entire cast, especially considering she really is just like a regular person trying her best at this youtube and comedy thing. She just gained a life long fan
7:51 this is one of those Taskmaster edits that happen every so often, and I love it every time.
I still think Greg is the gold standard as Taskmaster, but this episode had a moment that was prime Tom. When Jenny appealed on the grounds of continuing the task after breaking the rules, Tom's mildly playful, yet emotionally unfazed reply of "It's true, it's one of the best disqualifications I've ever seen" was brutal. That brief shred of hope he gave her before coldly shutting her down is something Greg could never do that subtly.
I can't remember the last time I disagreed with someone this much.
@@DNRchistWhy do you disagree?
TM AU does such a great job of running with the TM theme, but putting their own Aussie flavor on the show! What a bunch of great personalities! So fun to watch!
I did not know debutante balls were still a thing and I did not know they were called debs by anyone.
Thanks for translating Australian for me. I was wondering what the meant by "dab".
I’m from New Jersey, USA and about 8 years ago had a friend that had a debutante ball
It's a wealthy person thing
Of course debutant balls are a thing. Where else would they store their pee?
In Ireland, debs is like prom
Sometimes it takes a few episodes to really fall in love with the contestants in a Taskmaster series, but it only took me 1.5 episodes for this cast. They are amazing!
Yeah, generally it takes about 5 to 7 episodes before I feel like I really know them, but even halfway in this episode it was like I've been watching for ages. A great group with an incredibly fun dynamic, both with each other and the two Toms.
“… from all the sex”
That made me fucking lose it
He really saved Josh there😂
Only reason the potato battery failed was the light needed too much voltage. Shoulda gone with a single LED.
Came here looking for this comment. This lamp was way too ambitious for one sweet potato.
Agree! Looked like a normal 240V lamp.
So in theory, i guess he would probably have needed 220-230 such batteries connected in series to power it for a short time.
The voltage drop of an LED is too big for a single potato. This is why children's electronics kits used to have very small bulbs.
It also looks like he didn't make a proper circuit and the two wires of the LED were touching
This is easily the most relevant thing to happen to the Hooley-Dooleys in decades.
“HEY HOOLEY DOOLEYS! F(beep) YOU”
Tom and Tom are turning out to be my favorite duo from all taskmaster variants.
On episode 1 I was skeptical about this panel as season 1's was my favorite. But in this episode they really came through.
Can't wait for more quits by Josh and more sketches by Wil.
The Discount Wiggles is most certainly one of the best team names in TM history !
Taskmaster Australia is really keeping up with the UK version. I'm delighted. This episode had me laughing my head off.
What a powerful episode. Negative points is hilarious. And I'm not sure we've ever had a contestant be so clearly a heel!
Loving the taskmaster Australia series! spin offs are rarely as good as the original, but Tom & Tom, the casting and tasks are great!
Jenny and Anne's attempts at the balls task have big Fern Brady energy, with the tiredness and tidying hate respectively
Yes!!
This is absolutely unhinged, I love this lmao
My favourite moment of the week has finally arrived. New TM Episode!
Every series people in the comments say contestants are mental. This is the first time in all of TM's seasons I've seen contestants go so far off the rails LMAO
Absolute gold
This is a phenomenal cast! I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being one of my favourite (maybe the favourite) TM seasons!
Australian Taskmaster: the other root vegetables were in the Olympics which I would also say is quite breathtaking
Raygun: hold my beer
Just remember after watching the various failures and shenanigans in this episode- ONE of these people is going to WIN the series.
Easily one of the top three intros of all Taskmaster series worldwide.
Wil has a crush on Lloyd and has kids with Anne. Such a dog😊
Uh…..what? Lloyd is Anne’s partner and the father of her child. NOT Wil.
@@nicholem4831 it's a joke they made in the 1st episode 🤣
@@nicholem4831If that's the case, why would they have said otherwise in the previous episode? 🤔
Josh, while losing points in the show, is scoring points with me.
Somehow peg was the first rhyme I thought of for leg, so in the heat of competition I would have done the same an Jenny, but the easier one to paint would have been egg.
Josh is my favourite - so sweet and funny!
Saturday night, a box of pizza, a can of soda, and an episode of Taskmaster. In this moment, I am at peace.
whoa, we can do minuses!?
This is easily one of the best cast in the whole franchise, this episode was a gut buster for me
NGL the Australian Beet Root Olympics is more enticing than the Australian Break Dancing Olympics!!!
Seeing the live task in episode one tells me they still sent the best dancer to Paris
that sweet potato song is up there with the diverse strips' i'm always seeing you( do cool stuff)
Could you just steal Tom Juice Bucket so he can't measure the amount of lemon juice?
i like how you think
Yeah, I though about drinking it…
Squeeze the lemons before you throw them. That way there's little to no juice left to be juiced.
@@EvilPigPowers that does impact the aerodynamic properties of the lemon though
The lemon juice really had very little impact on the distances.
Love taskmaster AU. Tom and Tom both are great at there roles right off the bat.
Tom has the facial expressions of someone that has just recently been introduced to that very concept and he's still not quite got the hang of how to do them.
Whoa! That juicer uses the ENTIRE lemon! I want one.
Great tasks but I gotta say I'm not a fan of this many negative points being handed out, especially in back-to-back tasks. I don't mind the instances they've occurred in the UK version (especially the -5 for eating chocolate), but after they completely sabotaged one contestant's chance to win the series, I'm pretty weary of them.
To be fair, with this cast, it could easily balance out in the future. No one here is a clear winner😂
@@Kleopold94 both Wil and Lloyd seem quite good at the tasks, while everyone in S1 was pretty bad at them. In this one I get the impression Josh will be way behind the entire time
Hilarious. Truly a great show.
Pausing at 31:45 to say, I don't care who won, this was totally Lloyd's episode. 😂😂😂
I know we have a French version, but pleeeease do an English Canadian version. ♥
With Dan Ackroyd as the TASKMASTER, and Jay Baruchel as the Assistant? That works for me!
Seeing all of them meet during the team task was so precious. They were all so excited 😊❤
This one is not safe for mothers.
I think Joshs prize was my favorite and the banter after made it even better
“Discount wiggles” is a great band name lol
Delightful chaos with this crew, really enjoying this season
-2 to josh was harsh
TM Tom seems to always be looking for reasons to score Josh and Jenny as low as possible.
14:41 Well at least it didn't hit the ground! 🤣
“The Greatast Moment in Taskmaster History” is still Sally Phillips’ Jelly Toss is Series 5.
I appreciate the power ranger colors.
This continues to be, by far, my favorite non-UK version. ❤
Tom is my least favorite taskmaster, his rulings are so inconsistent
DANG!!! This episode is a real hit- it made me laugh more than any other TS episode, including Alex's and NZ...
Great job!
NZ can't get interactions like this. The taskmaster would never give out negative points which lead to the very funny spunger moment being even greater after the walk off.
Sure from a competitive standpoint it's less wholesome but from an entertainment perspective they are all hilarious!
34:52 Remember the wise words of the Great Dara O'briains wife; "Always look under the table."
Should have squished the lemons that landed on the ground, reducing the amount of juice that Tom could extract
And by now the way to deal with any task that says "You cannot touch X with your hands" should be obvious: Gloves, or wrap your hands in something, like the plastic sheeting
They are all unhinged, I love taskmaster australia! 😂
Trabajo de la mesa strikes again
*Debajo Trabajo means job lol
Tom Cashman, lemon gremlin, is incredible.
I have to say, I've seen all the TM UK, TM NZ and TM AU seasons, and this is the first time the banter between the host and one of the contestants actually feels mean. Maybe this is just how they both are, and many people in the comments seem to like Josh specifically, but to me those interactions aren't funny at all.
To me it seemed fair; they did give up after all. It's not in this show's spirit. I only rooted for Lloyd, but Josh definitely marked my spirit from the second half of this ep and onward.
Through his wide smile at the end you understand it's only a punishment for his self-sabotage; the whole cast was laughing all along after all.
If they really didn't get along to the point of starting actual drama on stage, they would've broken their contract and it wouldn't be aired. They're comedians/actors after all, so if you see annoyance through them while they're filmed in television, it's not how they actually feel, or not in that extent
i feel like tom has decided to be the annoying taskmaster that criticises everything (i personally find it fun at times, annoying others ig it's preference), Josh literally acts like the spoiled kid that has never had to do any real job whose no one has ever said no to in his life and since idk him i can't even tell if it's an act or not but i don't find it funny
This host is a failure I my view.
He is faking it but he never makes it.
Pity they di t find someone with actual sense of humor
Okay but why that sweet potato song kinda bop? Could easily see that becoming a tiktok trend
I just want to give Josh a hug! The -3 points was really uncalled for.
The -2 if the taskmaster couldn't guess was announced at the start of the task but does feel kind of weird when that would generally just be a DQ.
so with this, I believe first thing ever in Taskmaster history of being awarded NEGATIVE points, Josh literally got a score equal.... to scoring last on every task.... god it would have been funny if they had taked one more point away from him.
Jeremy Wells gave Guy Williams -1 point in NZ Series 1 for damagine men's mental health.
@@GT_Walker ok... so there is precedent.... but is there precedent for -4 points in ONE episode?
@@lanteanboy There was -5 points for eating chocolate or not ringing a bell, but I think Tom Gleeson is the first to give minus points for quitting.
@@GT_Walker but weren't those -5 AFTER normal point acquisition for the task thus meaning -4 to 0?
@@lanteanboy In UK Series 12, Desiree Burch and Victoria Coren Mitchell had a straight -5 for not ringing the bell. I always thought that was a bit unfair and the penalty should have taken away from their score in the main task (making a popcorn necklace), but yeah I think that's the biggest penalty on any version (any UK-speaking one anyway)
Star Wars has taught us, when someone says "I love you" to a man, his answer is, "I know.", not manly silence. 😉
The cow's bikini top doesn't cover the body part bikini tops are intended to cover.
this is my favorite task master series!!
The whole negative points (especially inherent in the live task given it has a lot to do with luck) is pretty wild.
Punishing someone for giving up is also ridiculous? Most people would've done the same and it was a tedious task. Jenny is exceptionally energetic, haha.
And Josh at the end was just "yes and"ing and committing to a throw away joke he made. Being punished for trying to comit to a joke felt like crap.
I'm glad it was a rule of negative points for the quitters. Quitting goes against the spirit of the show, considering the entire show is doing things you shouldn't want because it's a challenge. same goes with Josh in the live task, "nyaah i want to go home. if you get this I'm not gonna sit here for the credits"
To be fair that painting was awful and I still have no idea what it was 😅
I fully agree but I can give them some excuse. From some related dialogue they had I deduced that they gathered them an amount of time say two weeks and had them participate in challenges over challenges on the row. Maybe all the challenges of all episodes altogether. The production then took all the footage and divided it in episodes with some challenges here and some challenges there. I suspect when they were playing all along they didn't know what challenge enters what episode. Of course, after having finished 6 challenges in one filming day the 7th and last one comes on a bit strong to withstand.
I get it for the ball task, but I disagree on the live task. Josh finished the painting task, he walked away because the judging was clearly rigged, no way in hell the taskmasker pulled out sponger from THAT without a wire in his ear. It's why Josh made sure the audience saw it too. The judging never needs to be fair, it's part of the fun, but it should be justified. I think Josh walked because why try if you're gonna get last anyway? The show isn't fun it's over-produced.
@@conormdonnelly5112Tom was absolutely fair, and you can see his thought process for each. He was not only trying to guess what the picture was (the peg painting was absolutely horrendous), he was also working with knowing what the original words were and he gave each contestant a fair try. He was doing his best with Leg-Peg and Plunger-Sponger.
There aren’t many words that you'd think would rhyme with Plunger, and the dollar signs on the corner of the picture tells him it's money-related. He can kind of work out that it's Sponger.
For Chicken-Lickin', it's tougher to be fair to it, because 'licking', on itself, isn't remotely close to Chicken.
What? He was disqualified. Why continue to do something you're going to receive no points for? Frequently, in TM, a disqualification ends the task. Why does it matter that he didn't want to continue struggling to get zero points?
Also, you do understand that this is a show and the contestants are supposed to make it fun. His quitting was funny. That's good character work. You're acting like he's being a brat because he was entertaining?
Spunger ?
A mooch, someone who doesn't earn an income and gets by from the generosity of others. A classic example would be Thomas Magnum; he lives in the guest house of a fancy estate (a guest house better than many hardworking peoples homes) in the original series primarily because the owner liked him and in the reboot because he was a source of story ideas and constantly gets expensive favors from his friends (helicopter rides and seemingly unlimited bar tab) without compensating them for it. The animosity Higgins has towards Magnum, in the original series, stems completely from the feeling that Magnum is sponging off of Robin.
Oh wow Josh went DOWN in points! On purpose for most of them!
C'mon Will, you have dairy farmer parents. Surely the thing that would make them tut would be some sort of nut milk or other dairy alternatives
I love this cast. Are the episodes always censored and I just hadn't noticed before?
@@bobtheskutterbot I think it's just the YT versions because children could watch it etc.
Yeah, the AU series airs at 7:30pm local time, so they can keep shit and bitch, but can't do fuck or cunt.
@@benzaiten933 idk. the New Zealand version is on youtube as well but they're swearing up a storm. I think NZ and Australia TV just have different standards for airing
Series 1 of Australia was also censored but I only noticed like halfway through, so it's possible they only started censoring them midway through. Judging from the lack of the trademark ding sound and TM logo, I'm guessing it wasn't TM themselves that are censoring them here
TMAU airs in an earlier time slot (pre-watershed in UK terminology), so they have to be a bit more family-friendly than the other versions.
Lovely rugby passes of the lemon from Lloyd
I wonder what would have happened with the lemonade task if you’d pre-juiced some lemons before throwing - poke a hole in and squeeze down the drain

Shaking my head so hard at them nailing the lemon challenge in just 3 throws and then... they kept going and ruined it.
The -3 points at the end was uncalled for. I also felt there was some meanness in this episode.
I like the edge.
In true words it felt as if he wanted to say: People, have we gathered here to make a show or what?
The task stated that if the Taskmaster failed to identify your thing you would lose two points. That was written before it could have been known that Tom G would deduct points from contestants who quit tasks.

It's always rough to see someone who clearly isn't jiving with the show. Josh is having a hard time of it, in a way that I've seen very few others in any series.
Ahh, Rhod
I feel like this TM is too harsh, especial with Josh. Even in the first episode, the chess dance was real fun to watch and shouldn't have scored so low. And now this minus point bs for leaving the stage? Josh clearly made a joke there. Imagine James Acaster getting minus points for talking back to Greg. It's not banter at this point.
