Special thanks to David and Josh for the air-to-air footage. You guys are amazing!
Leonardo da Vinci has some pretty good designs that were impractical or impossible for him to achieve when he came up with them. Pete, can you make any of Leonardo's designs fly?
They were, in fact, impossible at all. None of them would work without major modification as he had no true understanding of flight principles.
@@billhenry7213 He stole(repurposed) ideas from nature but his designs were too complicated to actually test, so all his designs were simply ideas that never made it to testing. Obviously they couldn't work, but he had no way to test it in his time.
BTW, helicopter propellers were called 'air screws'. His designs were not for naught.
strap on enough propellers and u could make a lead brick fly
You've made flying curtain blinds
Beat me to it by 2 years.
What Is Islam?
Islam is not just another religion.
It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
{ “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)
Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him
The Islamic state follows the teachings of Muhammad to the letter. Not interested
It does not fly, it levitates !!!
@@jameswhitman3934 same here haha
It's crazy and it flies! You guys just get better and batter at making r/c flight (sorry...flite) a fun, affordable, group-participation, wholesome and (don't tell the kids) educational pastime. This project even threw in a little extra puzzling-challenge just to get the thing out the door. Plus, your photography always shows how beautiful flying is from whole new angles. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
Warms my heart that there are people putting intelligent time to build silly objects, the world needs more of this for sure. A classic case of "no form follows no function".
The original back then actually flew. There are extended frames of that clip.
The Proof of Concept was demonstrated, but we all know the results. Nice build!
Amazing! Flite test you've done it once again.
I couldn't get the smile off my face all day. I had to show it to everyone I could find.
Peter you deserve a grateful and heart felt "Thanks" from all of us who stay curious and are willing to give it a try.
Thanks, all at Flite Test, you keep me young.
Here's a challenge... The circle plane... Can you put a circle inside a circle?. Will it produce more lift?.
ThatHPI GUY they did this already
. tell me where then
well done peter and the crew!.......
I am constantly impressed at the professionalism and candor that you guys put out on film.
MAKE A PLANE THAT RELYS ON THE MAGNUS EFFECT
Yes please.
Tactical Ultimatum This thing must be built!
Tactical Ultimatum Agreed.
Nice
So much yes
Just thanks, that clip felt like two minutes in my head and that thing is mindblowing. Great job Peter to get it to fly!
Da Vinci's Airscrew
its been done . its called a helicopter
Yep, put it in the air and you are screwed.
hondaxl250k0 well obviously! But it’d be a lot cooler if it looked like the da Vinci version hahah
@@ThePostal67 🤣
Peter is the best addition to the team yet. He makes awesome things and he is creative.
That awesome feeling when you see yourself in a flitetest vid.
3:46 In the orange about to walk in front of the camera.
Assuming the motors generated enough thrust would that many wings make it able to carry a big payload?
Love where your channel is going. Congrats! Very nice videos lately.
Goodyear once developped an inflatable airplane,
I kind of like that concept, can you make that a project?
I challenge Peter to make a Vought v-173 "flying pancake" inspired R/C aircraft!
Nicholas Surina that would be awesome.
Nick S. They already done it ... its called Snowball, well at least its similar to it /watch?v=_luVDeU0r2g
Nick C. I agree!
ReDHeaDSg1 I have seen the Snowball episode, however, the v-173 is not perfectly circular, and the tail assembly is totally different from the Nutball/Snowball. The v-173 also has a symmetrical airfoil, not a flat airfoil as well as being twin engine, and having STOL capabilities.
Nick S. Like i said before i like the Vought XF5u
Men!!! you need a museum for all this stuff!
Would LOVE to see a plane or VTOL using the Coanda Effect!!!
chipmonk434 been watching Bruce's video :P

Ideas for future planes
1. Snoopy's dog house fighter
2.F111 with wing controls (dual cam actuated servo) allowing wing adjustment inflight.
3. A plane with unconventional propulsion (Ex.hair-drier, small squirrel cage...)
4. A fixed wing craft capable of forward and reverse flight ( Hint: I was thinking of center mounted helicopter tail rotators as your propulsion source.
5. George Jetsons personal vehicle
I have 5 more that I need to refine a little more, but just as challenging. Let me know if you like the first 5
Germany : we have one wing !
Also germany : we have 3 wing !
Flite test : we have a but ton of wing
Joshs' laugh was pure joy lol. Love this hobby.
Amazing!
love the quadcopters following the big daddy mouse hahaha
make a quad copter... with davinci style screw propellers
The Flying Blind Shade ! Major props to the builder,it is cool.
"Props" to Peter. Flight success, just by "Winging" it... no pun intended. 😁😎
Both Majestic and Surreal ...
That was the craziest thing I ever saw flying - looks like a window blind in the air :-)
This is my new favorite episode! The Fowl Flyer has been de-throned.
You guys have taken crazy insaneness to a whole new level!!! Amazing Amazing work Guys
I cheer whenever one of these crazy things flies! Thank you for all the fun. Really enjoy your channel, and I have never flown anything in my life! Keep up the good work bringing joy to people. 😄
I challenge you guys to make an ornithopter
YES YES DO THAT!
TheGreatWarrior123 good idea
Right?
Not only that, but a Dumbo the Elephant ornithopter that flies by flapping its ears. I want Peter to make one.
That would be amazing :)
Its great to see that you guys are part of the community.
Beautiful my friends.. Amazing job Peter :)
you guys deserve way more views, that's an amazing feat of engineering.
Maybe you could try making a hot air balloon, or a blimp. Preferably hot air balloon, and have it be controllable. Not sure if they did this already since I can't recall if they did, but if they haven't it would be awesome.
ChopStix how about an aeroscraft, kinda a mix of dirigibles and planes.
Chad Leach hoverdisk have been put on slowsticks
Great idea!
omg make that failed machine that looked like an umbrella getting thrusted up and down really fast to provide some sorta lift.... id be interested to see if you guys could make it work...
Foamboard Horten wing perhaps?
And no "cheating" with differential thrust on this one please. Because then it's not a Horten.
Thats awesome the kids that got to be involved, build it, fly it, crash it! My son would love this!
Here is your challenge, shall you choose to accept.
The "Magnus Effect" has been used with numerous aerodynamic capacities including as an aircraft wing. I would like to see an RC plane built using this principle to generate flight.
Research it and see what you think.
Cheers.
Done
Peter sripol alredy done it
As You have a differential thrust in both pitch and yaw, You could cancel all the fuselage and tail. It'd be stabilized by the KK board.
The same would work with a circular wing.
Not an old design- but more of a prototype new design...
I want to see you guys make a lifting body.
Essentially it is a plane with no wings where the lift comes from the body of the plane. It is usually used for very high speed aircraft in reality but I want to see you guys make one yourself and possible see how fast it'll go with the reduced surfaces for drag.
I like the new instrumental track you used when the plane is flying.
Can it be done? A modified Leonardo Da Vinci's gyrocopter?
I never would have thought it possible. Congrats!
fast forward to 4:20 for the flight
twisted1 ,
Blaze it
twisted1 trippy dude
It flied so high
twisted1 smoke weed errrday
Peter is the man!!!! I hope to come by and meet you guys some day.
This just begs for a 1/8 scale of the Caproni seaplane if you haven't done it yet.
+Paul Gracey The Wind Rises :-)
The Piaggio pc7.
"You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could that you didn't stop to think if you should."
I bet the inventer is looking down on you and saying "YES IT WORKS"
Hey guys , we used to do as crazy things as you do 40 years ago with petrol RC. I was lucky enough to have a dad who was one of Australia's leading RC people. Not just flying. Some of the things we did were similar to you but with petrol planes eg: getting household objects to fly like chairs , lawn mowers. We also did bomb drops , and "Long distance trips" where dad was strapped in the back of a Station Wagon and the challenge was to fly an RC 100kms the fastest.
Other challenges were stupid things like flying consecutive loops around a rugby goal post . Dad one by completing 3 after many beers!
One you have done as well I think...a sixty second climb , then the longest climb , all with aircraft just like the plane you call a giant:)
Dad one the Australian Pilon Race , he built a fuel tank to fit the whole inside of the fuselage , and when others were stopping to refuel , they kept looking at our plane wondering when it would stop to refuel. He never stopped thinking outside the box...God rest his soul...
Soooooo..... Window blinds as wings........ Perfect...
WOW! Epic build.
Did I see an Inspire 1 buzzing around. How many were in the skies?
you guys should make an rc ornithopter
Unbelievable!!!
Hats off to this dude!🙏
do rotating drum wings for lift?
Magnus effect
madinatore there was a plane made that had rotating drums for wings,, not sure if it did fly lol
Simon Whittaker It did, but is crashed on landing. Workability, 8/10, repeatability, 0/10, foam may hold up better though.
Simon Whittaker yeah it did.
Donalbain He did rotating KFC buckets
Well done, Peter, I never thought such a thing would fly that lovely !
I would love to see the K7 Russian Bomber flying.
I love what you guys do! How you test flight ability is amazing!
LEGO PLANE!!!!!!!!!
Lanzenreiter Galaxis they made that
Hello, I am a fairly new R/C pilot but I love your videos. Before I went into R/C I built models and there is one WWII era experimental Japanese plane called the Mansyū Ki-98 that I built about a year ago. I think it would be very cool to see how this plane might actually fly if put in a small scale form with R/C.
if I saw this flying over my house I would freak the fuck out
The original pedal powered one seemed to take off for a second before it collapsed. I think with a few reinforcements it would have worked at least some! I think they gave up too soon probably.
If you would like to see a flying machine with no moving parts, that does work. Please click on the channel icon to the left. The steering for it is currently under development.
You guys should make a ft plate based of of the PBJ Catalina.
mrgrapebutter PBY Catalina.
mrgrapebutter no
pbj was a whole other plans, not sure which one you want to see
thats embarrassing. I meant the PBY Catalina. Thanks for correcting me.
+Mr Grape Butter I like PB&J. Especially with grape jam. Hungry now, I'm heading for the kitchen.
This is more like it! Need more 'will it fly'! Loved it when David used to create crazy contraptions like the afterburner! :)
Use more struts: Check
Use more boosters: Check.
Ridicously over-complicated design: Check.
Catastrophic landing: Check
This airplane is KSP approved.
ComandanteJ I was thinking the same thing XD
They always compare new airliners to having a wing span larger than the distance of the Wright Brothers first flight. So, how about trying for a wing span equal to the Wright Bros first flight? Can you get a R/C aircraft with 120 ft wing span?
I would like to see a wheel barrow fly. Leave the front wheel, add some skids for the rear gear....yeah, that would be amusing.
Dave Smith no
Dave Smith id watch that yee haw
GREAT IDEA!!!
awesome video guys! Idea: ditch the fuselage and take off like a multi-rotor. You can switch to wing mode and then fly like a fixed wing.
Make Da Vinci's corkscrew helicopter.
FliteTest Not sure if I'm "entitled" to this feeling but watching this video makes me proud of you all. Really glad you tried this - super happy you got all those people, especially the kids, involved, and elated that you succeeded! Maybe coulda used fewer teeth and a landing skid to smooth out the touch down, but uber thumbs up to you all. Since this was inspired by the crazy collapsed wing multiplane, how about that other hopper thingy you often see in footage from that time? Peter, can you make that fly? Or as one could ask on this one, "should you" make it fly? ;)
make a plane that generates lift with a cylinder. its uses something called the magnus effect
awesome as usual.
my test for you is build a scale zero and f4u but have the f4u attached to the zero with carbon fiber shafts or something so it is permanently on its tail in an accurate attack angle and make it fly of course. hope to see it.
I challenge you to make a 1:1 scale rcplane
Thank You Peter, for Inspiring the Young up and coming Designers!
Next project: How to make a brick fly
+Jason Prikken /watch?v=bns5x4pvl5Y
+blm8666 no way.....
Sooo awesome you guys nice work! Excellent camera work on the chase drones too!
Stall speed: probably 7 km/h
Break up speed: probably 9 km/h
Have toyed with that aviation millstone as the basis for a Red Bull Flugtag entry, had no idea the original was pedal-driven until now. Figured I could improve it's manners with Anthony Fokker's multiplane trick of placing each successively higher wing further forward and with more area. A ginourmous variable-pitch prop made from two surfboard blanks provides the post-launch motivation. It would be a draggy beast, but climbing off of the launch platform, rather than plummeting, would really shake things up.
Make De Vinci's helicopter
You guys are getting better and better - love your shows!
EKRANOPLAN next?
If you don't find this at least interesting then you clearly haven't a single aeromodelling bone in your body, and I pity you ;-)
You guys amaze me! Asking for challenges, involving kids in the build, making it happen. Too Too Cool for words! Keep on Keepin' On.
EKRANOPLAN
Would you really need the tail assembly with that plane if you are controlling everything with differential thrust?
Yup, already said, but defiantly see what kind of magnus effect plane you can come up with!
if you look at the old footage of the multiplane it does actually take off so if the wings were reinforces could it work?
you guys have a lot of fun....nice work!
finally! I'v been waiting for this for years I kept seeing it in the background
Your neighbors must look out their back windows and be like, "What the hell are they doing now?!"
Great job on this one guys
Aerial coverage was awesome.
I GOT ONE FOR YA PETER...
A papier-maché RC plane. Was just thinking about it. If it can be done you're the man that can do it!
There is one plane that I know he would love building and flying, and it would be very informative also. The Arup S2, 3,4, or 5. Build a giant scale one of those Flying Heels out of carbon sticks and foam etc. There is also one from the 30s that has an M5 airfoil. Peter is going to go places in aviation no question about it! He is a perfect blend for your show, and it works perfectly. Thanks
That was awesome That plane should go to the museum and also it's great they had kids involved in the projects in building the plane Great work
Loved this video! Great job Peter
I am so amazed and inspired by this. And it reminded me of something.
How about making a Star Trek "Borg Cube" out of wings and struts?
Also .. you could make a USS Enterprise fly as well. I think you guys could definitely do it....and it would be epic!
This plane has three things, puns, guns, and a ton of wings
Peter is a badass, he will find a solution every time
That is crazy!! Thank you for making these awesome videos!!!
