We had both the hard candy cigarettes like you show and the chocolate ones. There was a little powder sugar in the wrapper of the chocolate ones so you could blow and simulate smoke.😂 Ahhh back when I was a kid and that makes me older than dirt🎉
Nice video, Tam! I've had enough bacon-flavored snacks over the years to know that it's not easy to duplicate the flavor of real bacon. But as long as it has a meaty, grilled taste and enough saltiness, a reasonably bacon-y flavor can be achieved, and it looks like that Smith's product did exactly that. I like the shape and the coloring they chose for their Frazzle.
That is something I definitely should have tried as a kid. The double dips truly were one of my favourites as a kid I think because the price was good so value for money. I remember my cousin and I once did that with sherbet but it didn't work well and we just cracked up at how bad it tasted.
That was a great box. Full of surprises for you as well as us. Lots of familiar things for us Brits and some things totally new to us. You were right about the watermelon millions. Definitely sour as i sadly found out after excitedly buying some. 😬🥴
Those fads look like the candy cigarettes that we had in the uk in the 70’s, we also had the chocolate ones in paper. Our white stick ones had a red tip and tasted really odd.
I remember having the chocolate ones that were wrapped in paper and came in packets that looked very realistically like cigarettes. My Dad use to smoke and I remember we swapped some out of his real ones to try and make him stop smoking LOL we must of driven him mad.
I'm pretty sure those "Fads' were called 'Fags' when we were at school Tam, and the tip was red to imitate a lit cigarette. I can vividly remember (I think her name was Linda.. that part isn't so vivid) bringing them in and all of us pretending to smoke. They changed the name at some point to Fads because they were trying to distance themselves from promoting smoking to kids. And those rings, my youngest 2 sons loved those when they were younger. Every time they went to touch football they'd have to have one. Thanks for another entertaining video. Love learning about and remembering all these great snacks!!!
Hi Tam lots of goodies again. The Ring Pops and here they're made by the Bazooka gum company out of Scranton Pennsylvania. We have Fun dips here the one with the candy stick and powder. I loved them still do 😂 We had candy cigarettes growing up the hard ones like you had and then we had bubble gum ones that were wrapped in a white paper so when you blew on them the powder would puff out like smoke. They wouldn't dare sell something like that now Great video
Joys Delights is based in my town and the certainly did a great job at the selection! I think fads were a 90s thing because I remember getting them at my local corner shop as a kid (that was 20 years ago). They also reminded me of those Big Bosses, do you remember those? 😁
Another successful taste test Tam! You look like you had fun with it despite the lack of chocolate. I'm with you on that. I can see why there was a "not a pacifier" warning on that ring candy! Is that dip candy stick just a stick or is it edible too?
Hi George the stick with the dips is also edible I use to love them when I was a kid eating it as an adult was strange and definitely not the same. I probably liked it because it was cheap and I got my money's worth back in the day.
Hello tam Yes i remembered candy Cigarettes and bubble gum cigar they had a bit of sherbet so you prended you were smoking a cigar you only got one puff of smoke like that and then you would unrape them they enjoy the chewing gum. Ring pop were and think still sell them in the uk. If you go down to the coast you can buy giant rock dummys. Not my idea of going out to see the sights and sucking on the giant Dummy. I prefer the normal r mint ocks.

The frazzels are one of the best tasting bacon snacks I've had I can understand them being popular
Parma violets are my number one favourite sweet❤❤❤❤
I use to mix the powder from the Double Dip in a glass of water to make drinks when I was a kid.

Yes to candy cigarettes back when dinosaurs roamed the planet!

Ring pops were popular in Canada in the 90s and 2000s had no idea they were from new Zealand
In Northern Ireland, we had the chocolate cigarettes in the early 2000s. But we didn't have them for long. 🍫🚬
Ice Cube says he hates Twizzlers because they taste like like wax.
He is right they do LOL
