I've never been super crazy about the Neural DSP plugins, but this one really piques my interest. Also, I love how much the helicopter effect makes Fluff geek out. It reminds me of when I bought my first wah pedal, and all I did was play the pre-verse riff from "Bulls on Parade" over and over again.
the part of the story no one is talking about, mostly because Tom isn't much of a gear fanatic, is that cab. yeah it's some run of the mill peavey cab, but it was made at the time that they were using celestion K-85's, which we now know as K100's. the EXTRA fun part is that the 4x12 had 4 16 ohm K-85's, not 8 ohm. i own both an 8 and 16 ohm K100, and they are VERY different animals. normally a 16 ohm speaker is thin and bright and awful. but this speaker is magic, and for some reason celestion doesn't make a lot of them. as soon as i put a mic on the 16 ohm K100 it was Morello. this isn't just some 800 and V30s, this is a rarer 50w 800 and speakers that are never talked about. it is an entirely new sonic palette. this, like the MK2C+ plugin is giving you access to gear you very well never see in your life and would be very difficult to acquire.
I bought an old Peavey Butcher cab that has 4 of these lovely speakers earlier this year and you are absolutely correct about them. They work with Marshall circuits especially well, better than V30s IMO.
his first original jcm 800 was stolen so he had to get a new one and the sound really changed a bit even it was replaced with the exact same model..just another proof that every marshall amp sounds different especially the ones of his era back then, cheers 👌🎸
This was awesome, definitely super reminiscent of Tom’s classic tones and this plug-in really hits the nail on the head. I’ve never used anything from NeuralDSP but I’m definitely tempted to check this out now. Great demo
Great walkthrough man and great playing. This is actually based off his 2205. I used to own the same amp and it’s so great to have a digital version of it. 🔥
I have been using two PV 412M cabs for years. One 1986 & one 1987. I didn't realize he used one. They are something to get accustomed too. I have since bought two more because they can be had for cheap. I love em. I have two other cabs, one with all V30's and one all Greenbacks for fun but I always play the PV's with the Celestion G12K-85's.

To be fair the Raeba plugin and the Tim Henson plugin I think both have the double and transpose knobs at the top. I think those are just neural standard these days
It doesn't seem as versatile as some of their other plugins. However, it has a great core sound. That's one of the better Marshall amp sim sounds I've heard.
funny how tom discovered his “tone” he said it was terrible and eventually embraced it and when he became content with the sound and basically worked w what he had, he flourished. its a single coil passive emg neck position….. it does sound bad when playing anything but tom riffs lol

I actually think tom plays through a Marshall Artist 3203 30w Head. I have one.. I'm not that amp sim guy (was) and I wonder how to use the whammy bar? Can I use it while playing the guitar track? Seems difficult playing with one hand while using it
Hope you guys all try these for yourselves. IMO sim one is best is not the one you think. One is not bad however one clearly spends more on marketing and big names to sell there product. The other stands on its own IF you try it.
How do you get the sound of you playing on the video. Ive tried a couple things. Plug the plugin into streamlabs. But i cant hear the sound coming out. Sometimes i can hear the playback. Whenever i try to record live on studio one the plugin makes a horrible feedback sound. Any help would greatly be appreciated
For the effects? Yes, there are midi expression pedals that either connect to your interface or with USB For your mouse cursor in general, I don't know
@Paul Hughes you can turn off individual parts of a plugin. Open the plugin, disable everything but the whammy. Then open your mesa plugin after in the chain

7:30 Tom used the Ibanez DFL Flanger, very rare nowadays. It would be amazing to have it replicated on this plugin as well.
Sounds so fun, just plug in and play! That's what I need-so many of these plugins have too many options.
Love the shirt Fluff

The Petrucci too.
Henson doesn’t have either, it was right before they started doing that stuff
Petrucci, Bea and the Mesa 2C+, I think

I believe they introduced the transpose and doubler in the JP plugin and it's been in stuff since
You didn't quite figure out the dive bomb pedal. Not my favorite ndsp plugin, but got it for wah/whammy
Fluff Morello!

Need to use Singlecoil Neck pickup
The Morello sound... you need to use your single coil neck pickup.
Otherwise, great plugin by Neural and a nice run through Fluff.
Beat me to it!
Single coil neck p/u, wah and whammy, and a kill switch or separate volume knobs gives you most of what you need to impersonate his bag of tricks.
Since this is a plain old JCM800 you could easily use this for some good old traditional Heavy Metal.
it IS an unmodified 800, but it's a 50w, the one that no one likes (apparently)
@@xsonicassassinx Oh, I've never tried the 50W version.
