I have nothing but respect for you two young men.. I'm so glad you are doing okay ❤ You have to do what you have to do to survive in this life. 70 year old woman here and 20 years sober. I wish you well.
Native Glaswegian here. Glad you two are doing ok, I remember reading an article many years ago about the issues raised by this film. Keep safe and well. Best wishes to you both.
They're both are so beautiful and, for what they were going through, looked relatively healthy. Their potential was immense. It's pains me that nothing or no one intervened with their lives and pulled them out of what they were doing. A shame.

Hardest accent I've ever cringed to understand was a full blooded fully cocked Irishman after having a few myself and chatting with a ciggy outside the pub, and I've chatted with many from all over the world in the military. Love to listen to someone with an accent. As many say, its sad that this happens all over the world and to an extreme. Nice to know they had each other and a community at that time. Seems like they had good heads on there shoulders and kept there wits about them. I've helped a few in the past, as much as I could, to find a path, a stable life and a few laughs and memories along the way. Like to think I did some good in this lifetime. Had my hand bitten a few times as well but hey, gotta take the good and the bad. Not only shared some good life wisdom, was also taught a few new ones myself. Hope someday they'll be a global peace that makes its way to all who need it. God rest and bless the poor souls who found it the hard way.
Moving, eye-opening and deeply gripping documentary on the world of rent boys. Was sad to hear what these youths went through and I hope their lives have taken better turns. While LGBT rights have been recognized and are protected now more than ever, it is still despicable most youths worldwide who are either closeted or have come out, have to offer their bodies just to survive and face discrimination after being thrown out. No one should be persecuted and shunned for their sexuality and the numbers of LGBT homeless youths worldwide on the streets has to diminish.

Yes, we all have accents. I am from NYC and hear everything the world can throw at me. I've been told I have a very thick Brooklyn accent and it is often pointed out as soon as I get off a plane. But, people understand me just fine. Other accents, though, overwhelm, even the best efforts of enunciation or listening skills. There is nothing wrong with sub titles where they may be suitable. This is a tailor made case.
You two remind me so much of my best friend David and myself when we were 15. We became homeless and ended up hustling for money. We did very well. I am 62 now, and I have been out of that business for many many years. I turned out fine. I did what I had to do to literally eat. Now I am very well off. I own a million dollar home, new Mercedes and tons of $$ in the bank and investment accounts. My only advice is to stay off the drugs. Treat it as a business. Be smart. ❤️❤️
The two lads were nice and down to earth - good looking too - blond lad Kemmy is cute as fk - i wonder what they are doing now it would be cool to find out - i remember Glasgow scene at this time and before it was raw and gritty and pretty amazing - about the time of just before this video was made i met a guy and we were together for 14 years .ive never been back to the scene but i remember Betty B
These boys were at so much personal risk to their safety, their health - both mental & physical. In 1995 they were at high risk of contracting HIV and surviving the AIDS pandemic of the 1990's until the arrival of the first antivirals in 1997 was in no way guaranteed. Lot's of us gay folk did not make it, did not survive. If these boys did survive, I hope they've managed against the odds, to get their lives together and found the safety, security, happiness though most of all, the love and care that simply should have been their birth right in the first place.

I just came across this video through a very good close friend of mine. This is really sad to learn about the boys in the video, I have had a bad life myself for several years different reasons; lost one family member to cancer and I am lucky to be alive today if it wasn’t for my dad who has sadly died from health issues that were not able to get treated as too dangerous and very complex. These film makers treat us all like a heard of cattle in doing so they don’t care about us and our feelings just viewing figure ratings. It would be nice if they could give them all of the moral support they needed. I have been in the past few years with a volatile partner who had controlled me and due to their actions I went missing in Edinburgh for 24 hours once. At the time I was not able to speak out about how I was feeling or going through. I do hope that they are okay after the film makers manipulated these really cool guys and managed to move on from this horrible ordeal
I know that some of this programme was staged ( journalists in the cars pretending to be punters) but I think it's fair enough because real punters would have driven away quickly if they'd seen tv cameras. Also if the boys were paid around £500 each for the time they spent filming. That's preety good money for 1995.

I had no problem understanding, even after being out of the country since 1995 and only regularly popping back. I've only ever been to Glasgow once btw. Sad that the young lads had to work in this way. The nature of the 'job' is slightly different and a lot of young lads nowadays look online for extra cash in this way, and some do 'quite well' out of paid sex with older men with money looking for a good time with a young boy. I'm sorry, but when the blonde kid was saying that his first boyfriend turned him out basically...that breaks my heart. I can barely understand what they are saying, so I cannot tell if that happened at age 13, or if he just had his first sexual experience at 13. Either way... ☹
I dont speak for Kammy personally, however I can report we are both doing well and fine in our own endeavours- thank you very much for your kind support. 😊

Hope these poor little lads are doing fine now. It’s endearing to see even just at 15 years of age, they both have the Scottish sense of humour that we are known for! Utterly appalling that they were both just kids and were manipulated into into doing this programme and revealing their identity on television for all to see. F*** the producers of this for putting these young lads into such a dangerous situation! 🤬
Did I dream it or was there a documentary made years ago that’s now been banned about rent boys moving down to London ? Wonderland? Trocadero centre? Apparently whilst filming in one of the hostels a boy was murdered so the film crew were effectively suspects????
I think the documentary you recall is one that was made in 1975 called 'Johnny Go Home'. It was about young lads who left home to seek a new life in the bright lights of London and who became prey for others. The film crew unwittingly captured some footage which was used forensically in the detection of the hostel murder. I don't think the film crew were suspects but I do think they were "helping police with their inquiries." I'm not sure it was ever banned as I don't recall it ever being repeated but lots of stuff were 'one off specials' back in the day. There may have been another about the 'Johnnies Who Won't Go Home' but that could easily have been a tag line used in the documentary. I remember watching it as a 14 year old and being quite shocked. In my youthful naivety I couldn't understand why young guys not much older than me were not back home after the first night away.
@@vincentmacgillivray8594 Thanks mate. I looked into it and there is a copy at the British Film Institute (BFI) in London but you have to be a scholar to book a viewing. Random if that’s the only copy in existence why it wouldn’t be replicated especially with the evil on the streets today. I remember catching a five minute opening clip on UA-cam a few years ago but it’s since been removed
@@TheLuchyboy You can walk right off the street into the viewing suite and watch it. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and any member of the public can.
Very tragic indication of how a homophobic society pushes kids like this towards the shadows. In those days, things like section 28 banned schools from helping gay kids, and even then, so many people and teachers were deeply homophobic themselves. The tragedy is that kids like that would have had very few outlets to meet other gay people other than in the shadows like that. I'm sure this image has been replicated so many times with kids, both then and now. As long as homophobia and dysfunctional families exist, there'll always be kids pushed in that direction.
@@hgoyam3813 hi mate. I used to work myself, for ten years in Cardiff. I was in parlours tho and didn't street walk as I was always too scared of the risks and what could go wrong. I was raped twice in the decade I worked, and that was in punters flats, so I was too nervous to get into a car. Sorry to sound nosey, but do u known how the boys are doing these days? Do they still work or are they out of this life now?
Cameron and David...get a flat together....get some schooling .....go for what you love.....please listen to this wise old lady that you may call "Mom"....you both are angels and oh so special.....terribly proud that you do not abuse drugs....stay strong...stay together....it WILL get better but you have to do your part too...peace in your hearts....love...."Mom"
Agree, Cammy would not be looking for a "mom" to replace his biological mum anyway I doubt. It seems to have impacted him when she passed away when he was only 12. Though as its been pointed out this was recorded way back in the 90s... I'm sure they both got wiser to the world and probably cringe watching back over this. They reason why some aren't understanding them completely is they are speaking a mix of English and Scots respectively. Some of the American viewers are probably not even aware Scots is a sister tongue to English and although similar it differs just like Norwegian and Danish. Here in Northern Ireland we speak this mix too though with a different accent and we need to think carefully not to mix Scots vocab into English when speaking to outsiders as it massively confuses them. Shame the lads had to resort to this but then its a shame married men etc feel the need to slip out for a bit of man on man action while the wife is in the bath or so... Dirty oule gits! :-}
Where have all the punters gone? To the tune of Bonnie Tyler lmao that part made me laugh! I've worked myself, and it's soooo true that u need sense of humour to get through it. I worked in parlours tho, I didn't street walk. I hope these boys are doing well today, they seem like fun, and I admire their friendship and support for each other
That's what was the next thing on his video tape what he'd recorded 🤔 That's what you did with videos cassettes. you'd record one thing then you'd record another program on the same tape. I hope that was a question by the way, not rhetorical 😂

It's heartbreaking to see these two lovely boys in such a stinking situation. They have the looks and talent. Kammi's father and rotten stepmother have a lot to answer for. They ruined an innocent, sweet, sensitive soul and threw him out to beasts. Wish i had the money to get them away from that.
I'm sure this is fascinating. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand 9/19th of what the lads said. Subtitles would make this more accessible and more productive in terms of knowing what the lads' lives are like.
@@iden010 If you really are David, I'm looking to track someone down who was working St Vincent Street back in around 1994-95. I'm 48 now. Was 21-22 at the time. i also wonder that....
Very Dangerous work. I don’t think they live long.
Ashley harvee. He didnt. Cammy is alive and well
@Ashlee Harvey both are very much alive
@Ashlee Harvey No he didn't we are both very much alive thanks.
WoW ....😳 Could someone do a follow-up on these 2 young men ? Hope their doing BETTER .😁
Another post says one has hiv, and both heroin addicts.
God bless you both, jesus christ loves you both.been there.
I wish you both good luck in both your futures stay strong don't let anyone put u down. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ sorry for the crap that u have both been through always be there for each other .
I'm sorry, but when the blonde kid was saying that his first boyfriend turned him out basically...that breaks my heart. I can barely understand what they are saying, so I cannot tell if that happened at age 13, or if he just had his first sexual experience at 13. Either way... ☹
For those who are having difficulty with the accents.... there are subtitles.
Click the "CC" icon at the bottom of the video.
I don't think the person typing the subtitles understood a lot of what was said either. Some of the text makes no sense either.
Not there
I was a rent boy in Glasgow , george square . But that was in the 80s .
God bless you 🤧 2 boys I hoped you are out of all this by now!!!! Wow 😮. Completely heartbreaking!!!
I dont speak for Kammy personally, however I can report we are both doing well and fine in our own endeavours- thank you very much for your kind support. 😊
@@iden010 I heard cam had died of a drug overdose and the other boy was heavily into heroin which is a shame I hope I am wrong idea if you know different please do tell me my friend and let me know where they are and how things turned out for them x thank you much love bro xxxj
@@iden010 how are you now
Iden can you prove that you are David?
Interesting memories of my four years in Glasgow - the locations I mean...good old Betty B
Long before Ru Paul's Drag Race we had Betty B and who could forget Betty Hutton or "Mother" and the "wean".
Good luck to the two of you. Hoping you are both well and continue to be there for eachother. Lots of love to you both
People say different things. But has anyone got any proof either way about whether these boys are alike or dead now?
Did I dream it or was there a documentary made years ago that’s now been banned about rent boys moving down to London ? Wonderland? Trocadero centre?
Apparently whilst filming in one of the hostels a boy was murdered so the film crew were effectively suspects????
I think the documentary you recall is one that was made in 1975 called 'Johnny Go Home'. It was about young lads who left home to seek a new life in the bright lights of London and who became prey for others.
The film crew unwittingly captured some footage which was used forensically in the detection of the hostel murder. I don't think the film crew were suspects but I do think they were "helping police with their inquiries."
I'm not sure it was ever banned as I don't recall it ever being repeated but lots of stuff were 'one off specials' back in the day.
There may have been another about the 'Johnnies Who Won't Go Home' but that could easily have been a tag line used in the documentary. I remember watching it as a 14 year old and being quite shocked. In my youthful naivety I couldn't understand why young guys not much older than me were not back home after the first night away.

Thanks mate.
David reminds me of Karen dunbar for some reason .. its the hair lol
It‘s safer and easier now though. But Jesus, they had a ROUGH go
does anyone know if these lads are still alive?
southafricandominion yes both
@@hgoyam3813 hi mate.
@@alexcarlson4344 still work they both on heroin the need to feed thier habit bud it's a sin watching th difference between them now!
Condoning isn't helpful...
You do realize that this footage is 23 years old, right?
Agree, Cammy would not be looking for a "mom" to replace his biological mum anyway I doubt. It seems to have impacted him when she passed away when he was only 12. Though as its been pointed out this was recorded way back in the 90s... I'm sure they both got wiser to the world and probably cringe watching back over this. They reason why some aren't understanding them completely is they are speaking a mix of English and Scots respectively. Some of the American viewers are probably not even aware Scots is a sister tongue to English and although similar it differs just like Norwegian and Danish. Here in Northern Ireland we speak this mix too though with a different accent and we need to think carefully not to mix Scots vocab into English when speaking to outsiders as it massively confuses them. Shame the lads had to resort to this but then its a shame married men etc feel the need to slip out for a bit of man on man action while the wife is in the bath or so... Dirty oule gits! :-}
Kenny Browne Don't think these boys need to do that to survive. If that's true something is seriously wrong with Scotland.
mrshizweak
You do realized it that this was done ined 1995 and so these kids are at now ined theirs mid to late ofed 30's
There prices are better than oors !! Fantastic pure class ;) x
This film was produced in 1995.
Where have all the punters gone? To the tune of Bonnie Tyler lmao that part made me laugh! I've worked myself, and it's soooo true that u need sense of humour to get through it. I worked in parlours tho, I didn't street walk. I hope these boys are doing well today, they seem like fun, and I admire their friendship and support for each other
I'd love to know how both guys are doing?? I was the trawling one haha around 99 2000. Wonder when this was made 🤔 looks the same time frame
So what are there's two doing today are they alive
You are braver than some any of the rich guys i know who have it all on a plate. I have the greatest of respect for you. X
Why don’t you go into subtitles if you can’t understand the lovely Scottish accent, or just don’t be looking at young rent boys on the internet, ha ha
Fucking subtitles sound like shit, very bad translation.
Wonder about an update on these boys
Any particular reason why it cuts to Jools Holland at the end?
That's what was the next thing on his video tape what he'd recorded 🤔
That's what you did with videos cassettes. you'd record one thing then you'd record another program on the same tape.
I hope that was a question by the way, not rhetorical 😂
Language is Glasgow (City in Scotland) heavy dialect.
England Scotland Wales and Ireland have many local dialects.
I'm from Belfast your right x
I'm from Belfast your right x
joanne boyland my mums from Glasgow so find it ok. And a pal from Edinburgh used to rent a room off me, and had a good friend from Belfast. So handled all three pretty good 😀😀
I wonder what these two boys are doing now. What was that Betty b all about trying to joke about that wee boys miseries ? He should be ashamed of himself
Can you possibly tell me what was said? I couldn't understand a word.
If you can tone into the accent they are actually speaking quite clearly , believe it or not! The dark haired guy has more of an Ayrshire accent
Good luck to you lads.
David kinda reminds me of Timothée Chalamet
But I bet he doesn't now.
Absolutely tragic. You can see their withered souls through their dead eyes. A shame.
I remember this...channel 4 was fined (£150,000) for faking part's of this documentary
What parts did they fake? Gosh I have seen several comments on here where they spoke about how they were fine I just wonder what parts were true and what were they paid to fabricate? Wish them all the luck!! ❤
I'm sorry...I don't know what they did or how they were supposed to have "faked" it...I just remembered they were fined..I read it somewhere

They really need to have subtitles here. It is impossible to understand anything.
there are subtitles. you just have hit the options and turn them on!
I di...and it still does not make any sense...am I missing something here?
You sound like a highly erudite and educated person (LOL!)
Mr Zoltanonwinter no, the subtiles are absolute nonsense
Subtitles are shit too.
No judgement. All the best.
heard liam neeson used to do rent boys in england couple of yrs after his wife died

How old is this st Vincent toilets closedown long time ago
I’m from Britain and I can only tell what they are saying because my ex was Scottish, but if I didn’t have an ex from Scotland I’d have no clue what the fuck they are saying lmao
Excellent comment u made my chuckle like a kid 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👌
Cool story ya whopper

As strong as I expected.

almost 5 minutes into this before I could understand a single word.
Same here - it's almost unwatchable. Bummer, because it looks interesting.
I’d hate to hear them talk when drunk
Love Scottish accent.....
I'm sure this is fascinating. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand 9/19th of what the lads said. Subtitles would make this more accessible and more productive in terms of knowing what the lads' lives are like.
So who is zooming who?
Is it me? Is it you?.... lol good question there. 🤔
David was gorgeous.
Thanks Chris,that's "Smashin" 😊
@@iden010 you're welcome 🙂
@@iden010 If you really are David, I'm looking to track someone down who was working St Vincent Street back in around 1994-95. I'm 48 now. Was 21-22 at the time. I wasn't a punter, I'm just someone who lost touch with someone else when we were both very young and I'd just like to know that they were safe and well.
Saint Vincent Street toilets is infamous in Glasgow for rent boys and punters wen I was young we would go to try and rob them but soon learned they weren't the easy touch we thought they'd be as most would and could fight for fun easier targets were sought elsewhere growing up in Glasgow was ruff
Wow. Stealing from the poor. Shame

Where are they now?
Can somebody please upload English subtitles? Looks really interesting.
Dion Govender Never read an irvine welsh novel i presume... ;)
It is English!
>Dion...... No. Go & expand your small pea sized brain and teach yourself to be more open minded to other peoples accents. Also pay more attention the next time your watching a video 👍🏻😜
Come to london , and you will struggle to understand the conversations sometimes , because I do despite being born and living here . I had a Glaswegian girlfriend years ago and now have no problem with the local brogue .. listen carefully and it comes eventually
Wonder where they are at nowadays....
They are all very old now...
i made it almost 7 minutes before i gave up.
i've lived in england but this accent is beyond me.
Really, you english & cant understand this? Never understood it when people struggle with accents, especially from their own country/island.
I want to understand
Wish there were subtitles 😞
Why are the captions turned off? I speak English and can't understand a word they're saying.
when working with some Glaswegians I used to have an interperer as I had no idea what they where saying, I used to joke its time they learnt to speak English. For them it was English but you could have fooled me.
I hope Scott doing ok and he's young person blond chap it is kind of funny hanging out by the phon box
