Namikaze Sjjn, even though I like blaziken, I did the same type/evolution mix as the existing Pokémon trainer as to not be biased in other regions. For example, even though I like empolion, I would still do piplup, tutwig’s second evolution (I forget the name), and infernape.
The title makes it sound more like a battle royal, rather than who would have the coolest moveset in smash if they had to pick that variation of sonic.

Sonic Advance 3 actually gives Sonic a rather unique variety of moves depending on who he's teamed up with. When paired up with Tails he's pretty much got the standard moveset of the first two games, yeah, spindash, slide, some tricks off of ramps and springs, but when paired up with other characters his moveset changes. With Knuckles he gets the air shield to increase the range of his jumping hitbox and give him temporary invincibility frames, as well as a more powerful slide that goes further and a bounce attack. With Amy he gets the ability to use her hammer, as well as the ability to use a surfboard on grind rails. Then, best of all, with Cream he basically gets a homing attack sort of ability, launching himself directly forwards normally, and homing directly in on enemies when super close to them, it's a great move. Not to mention he actually gets to breathe underwater infinitely in this combo. However, the biggest deal would probably be the tag actions. In SA3, the player can summon their partner into their arms at any time, and each partner has a special action/ability they can use in this state. Tails will launch the player up high when on the ground, and fly them around S3&K style when in the air. The player will throw Knuckles forwards when on the ground, and ride Knuckles back as he glides forward when in the air. Amy will launch the player upwards with her hammer, and Cream will also launch the player upwards, but will ALSO give them access to Cheese to use him as a homing projectile. If the Sonic from Sonic Heroes gets to use his allies, I suspect a Sonic Advance 3 Sonic would also get to use the various tag actions of his partners for recovery and attacks, and combined with the various actions he gets from them it could all compile into a neat little moveset for him to use.

My money is one either werehog Sonic, S&TBK Sonic, or S&TSR One has great melee attacks, one has a sword, and one has access to the seven world rings Honorable mentions goes to S3&K Sonic, Sonic Colors Sonic, and STDB (dark brotherhood) due to having a hyper form, wisps, and a lot more moves to use in a fight.
He really could have just did sonic unleashed bc he basically has his own move set he had smash hit recovery and also unleashed mode could be his final smash.
