Bradolf Pitler I wouldn't say he will take the throne but he will probably take the north and than get killed or become the night king, you just never know the GRRM.
Lili Kumorova hmmm actually I'm putting my money on that Daenerys becomes queen in the end...but that Stannis (if he doesn't die) does something important aswell hand of the (in this case) Queen, or something?
It's really true, if not for Petyr, Jon Arryn wouldn't have died, Ned Stark wouldn't go to kings landing, Catelyn wouldn't abduct Tyrion, and Robb wouldn't have started a war
If only Ned had the sense all the way back then to send the truth about Robert's heirs to Stannis AND TELL NOBODY ABOUT IT. Just sit there and wait for a couple weeks, then confront Cersei and give her the chance to flee once Stannis with his guard is already on the outskirts and she has no choice. So many people wouldn't have lost their lives that way.
UngeniousIdea Not really. From his perspective, he prevented what would (at the time of Robert's death) essentially be a coup against the crown for everyone in the city. Same goes for Slynt. At that point in time, I doubt either of them thought Joffrey would go all the way in executing Ned and causing total war. The milder outcome, where Ned is sent to the Wall, and Joffrey only has Stannis and Renly to worry about, suits Littlefinger pretty well. He gets to take Starks down the notch, and he probably thought he could've had somehow gotten Catelyn to resent Ned for his mistakes and (supposed) infidelity and love him instead. If Ned thought about this more carefully, he would've realised that.
Paul Prithu As cool as it sounds, i doubt it will be played for anyone but the Baratheons. Honestly i don't want it played for anyone but them, as it's Their tune. It would just feel a bit off to me if they played Baratheon tunes to a Stark. None the less, this song is awesome. EDIT: We might hear the tune again, as they never truly showed Stannis die, and even if he did, theres still Gendry.
He might only have Lannister blood but he is still known as Tommen Baratheon and it is the Baratheon name which keeps him on the throne (so it's still a fitting theme when discussing his 'kingliness.'
@@motyovszkimiklos7538 The only Doctor Who quote that comes close is "Life is a mix of bad and good things. I can see how you might make the connection but they aren't talking about the same thing at all.
'Robert was the true steel. Stannis is pure iron, black and hard and strong, yes, but brittle, the way iron gets. He'll break before he bends. And Renly, that one, he's copper, bright and shiny, pretty to look at but not worth all that much at the end of the day.' Donal Noye, A Clash of Kings
@@Miguel-wu9ml idk. I feel like Renly would have been good for a while then he'd be in a position to keep the Tyrells happy and have to do whatever they say to keep their support since they'd be the one to help him win the Iron Throne. I feel like at the end of the day he'd just be a puppet for all his "friends".
+Reiner Braun Orys Baratheon, first if his name and House, was a targaryen bastard. Ramsay bolton has been a snow. It depends on the king/queen, but baratheon can be revived.
That is a powerful soundtrack. Reminds me of Robert's epic strenght and huge warhammer, Stannis' iron justice and Storm's End that could withstand any siege and even the fury of the gods.
Stannis rubbed his jaw. “When Balon Greyjoy rose the first time, I beat the ironmen at sea, where they are fiercest. On land, taken unawares … aye. I have won a victory over the wildlings and their King-Beyond-the-Wall. If I can smash the ironmen as well, the north will know it has a king again.”
The people who respect Stannis are the people that respect honesty, the only decent people in the show/books, people like Ned Stark, Davos, even Jon Snow, people who care about justice, duty, something other than personal gain, the ones who hate him, hate him because they can't buy him or frighten him into submission, he has fought for the kingdom and its people(not just the crown) so for me he deserves it, (and it is his by right.. of course)
Tbh, I've always respected Stannis the mannis but I kinda lost it bc of yk, what happened to Shireen. I kinda question his character now but still, in the end, there is some respect for him.
TEST: Ask your friends who the One True Leader of Westeros is. If their answer is anything other than *Stannis of the House Baratheon, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.* then bad news, your friend is a pleb.
+Meester Writer....but Stannis is not Azor Ahai reborn. Melisandre is a 'radical,' and it is very well known that Daenarys is Azor Ahai reborn (it is known). That being said, Young Griff could very well be legitimate and then the technically rightful ruler, due to the fact that he is a Targaryen, the first to conquer Westeros. BUT hey, if you think Stannis is the Mannis, by all means think that.
every season the stag sheds his horns. If one were to put on the crown then, it would grow its horns over the top. Alternatively you could have the crown on the horn since its birth
Perhaps to put forward the idea that the crown is rightfully theirs? It can't be removed from stag. Moreover, I don't think it has to do with shedding the horns as Vouilloz pointed out. It is about my first statement/ question. Nobility is all about hereditary right, they are defined, if you like, within 'themselves' and their power status is also legally defined (as far as real history is concerned). Put it simply, true heirs to the Iron Throne.
***** I was just discussing their sigil, not the whole thing who has the right to sit on the Iron Throne. What I tried to point out is that their stag makes more sense to me now, despite it might not have been associated with 'rightful' idea before (p.s I didn't read the books). And yes, you could argue Throne should go to Stannis of course since that the principle of seniority, but since Ned didn't manage to tell the truth then the new king Joffrey came as was the rule of primogeniture. Doesn't matter if Targaryens were on the throne mate. France was ruled by three dynasties over the course of the Middle Ages, for instance. 'You tell that to the Targaryens.' sentence of yours is not really relevant in my opinion. Hope this explanation makes more sense.
***** in that case your view is too idealistic. GoT is not something static but the contrary. If you observe it like that, the Targarayens' place is on another continent....
Don't worry guys, i read in the 9th book that Tyrion becomes a master Necromancer and revives not only Ned but also Robb and Robert to swing the mighty skeleton power of hammers against the already dead lions... wait.... i think Tyrion became the White Walker king after next episode, trust me, i read this book it has the number 10 on it.
Pelarry Martin Balon's last words will be "Release the Kraaaaaaaaa------" And it eats him, then Theon comes out with his favourite toy being regenerated, Theon cheers like Smeargul for 5 seconds, before being eaten alive, well chopped in half actually, his last words are, "Reeeeeeeeeeee" Ramsay Snow laughs, then rides the Kraken, however the Kraken flies away and into the Wall, where they meet the king of the Hill. His Axe, able to shatter stones and Nuts, is delivered to the Kraken, who swears an Oath to kill Gordon, Flash. Stannis, who is stuck in the Empire States building, Wins the Throne, because he found a note in a Trash can, which told him, he would win something. Meanwhile, Tyrion has become Lich King, known as Arthas. If you don't trust me, read GRRM's newest book #11 : Wangs of Winter.

We call for justice Stannis. Make those Lannisters, Freys, and Boltons burn. Make them pure in the fire. If the red woman does one thing to gain my support it would be to have them all put on trial and then purified. (Tyrion not withstanding). LONG LIVE STANNIS BARATHEON, The one TRUE King of Westeros.
Try listening to House Baratheon's and House Lannister's soundtracks simultaneously. Just like Stark's and Targaryen's, this syncs perfectly as well! Ramin Djawadi deserves all the accolades!
Oh yeah?! Vader is Luke's Father, Kane's last words were about his sled, Tyler and the Narrator are the same person, ROMEO AND JULIET KILL THEMSELVES!!
+AtariX Sadly he is. The actor isn't even listed in the new season. Now all we got to root for is Davos on the Baratheon side, even though he isn't one.
Trump Aces because their family over threw the targaryens' mad, incestuous dynasty. Making them ACTUAL Kings...the Targaryens are just haters now. only got the crown by cheating with dragons anyway.
House Baratheon still lives. I don't think Brienne killed the one true king. They didn't even hint contact of the sword to Stannis. He still lives. They wouldn't kill such a character off screen. And if they did, then FUCK THEM FOR RUINING STANNIS!
Booker DeWitt *SPOILERS* - The one true king is Aegon VI Targaryen (Young Griff), son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell. He is about to land in the stormlands with the golden company and eventually Daenerys will join him. He will lay siege on Griffin's roost and King's landing.
Dancho Ivanov you mean Faegon. More than likely he's the Mummer's Dragon (a Blackfyre), and to be king he has to reclaim the throne through conquest from the Baratheons
Aegon VI "Young Griff" is not a Blackfyre. He's a legit first son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell. Not a Targaryen bastard. Truly if Jon Show is son of Rhaegar, he is the real Blackfyre.
Two things. One: You'll Be Queen One Day is when Ned is talking to Sansa, so it is incorrect to call it a Baratheon track. Two: In Martin's world there is cruel justice. When Walder Frey dies his hundred sons will slaughter each other for his power. If you read the books, you'd have read the part about how the Walders are just waiting for their father to die. For slaying their king (and/or liege lord) they will wipe themselves out.
***** He's the hero the seven kingdoms deserve, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A king.
2dany5 oh a dany tard!you prefer a girl that also burns people and hate stannis for burning people good job!dany is killing the masters for justice but justice doesnt mean killing people, she killed the father of the husband she was forced to marry, that mas was innocent but she thought that he was guilty!stannis doesnt do it for justice he just kills the traitors!Bend the knees to the rightfull king or get destroyed!
Isn't that crazy how they mixed the Baratheon and Lannister themes for a moment, quite fitting for Joffrey eh? Also Joff killing Ned is what the stag horn in the dire wolf symbolized at the beginning
Actually symbolises the arriving of the King Robert, which will eventually lead to Ned's death because of his incompetence as a ruler... it's not intentional, but Robert's the stag who forces Ned into Kings Landing and thus his death.
Enrique Valentín García Robert didn't know that would happen and ned lead himself to his death when he Investigated about jon arryn and of course all because little finger
I love this theme !! It makes me remember the first episode of the serie !! Such a great feeling !! Everything was "fine" back then, Ned was still alive and the Starks was still "a family"...
quex213 thank god that Robert was a horndog.i dont have anything against homosexuals or people who want to burn sacrifice their children but thats noot the way you build an empire...
King in the North: Robert Stark Queen of the Iron Throne: Daenerys Targaryen King of Grammar: Stannis Baratheon King of the Friendzone: Jorah Mormont Rightful King of Westeros: HODOR!
I'm banking on Renly, he's got the biggest army out of anybody, Seriously, what could stop him now? What are you saying?Valhalla morgul what now? Speak Westerosi damnit!
House Baratheon will rise once more along with the Lords of the North aswell as Vale too take back the Iron Throne and save the realm from the white walkers.. "Ours is the Fury" Lord of Light cast your light upon us..... For the night is dark... and full of terror.
I think it's a safe bet that the Vale will continue to play Switzerland in the Game of Thrones. Then knights will remain in the Vale my friend. Winter has already come and passed for House Baratheon.
Jack Murphy I'm not going to spoil anything when I say, at this point of the story, the only living Baratheon is Stannis and he's not looking too healthy. There is rumor that they have an elderly uncle but there's weren't any true heirs to their house and most of Robert's bastards are meat. The party is over for most of them and Stannis is their only hope in a night that's dark, and full of terrors.
I really hope Baratheons are making a comeback in the future. Satannis' little girl could have 7 strong sons. Or Robert's bastard could be legitimized and he could have 7 strong sons =] Dammit! This house needs strong sons! But all it has now is Shereen, and a few bastards...
More, Evija, has been built from less. Bastards conquered most of Asia, England, and what was Zululand. Women have led armies against the reigning superpowers of the day and won. The Baratheons will rise once more.
Andjac Some are dead and the majority have no idea they are Robert's. I think Cersei made a point of killing all known Robert's bastards at some point. And the rest - if nobody knows, they don't count. It's not like with Ramsey or John Snow where it's common knowledge who they are.
Stannis was the Mannis with the Plannis... Wtf is Westeros gonna do now? The true King is gone, the Baratheons are extinct, who the fuck do we follow now?
SFforlife I hope that Sansa rallies the bannermen of the Starks during the war of 5 kings and leads a rebellion against the Boltons to avenge her family and become the queen of the north!
+Mordor Reviews he has a acknowledged bastard called edric storm who is currently in lys and he could continue house baratheon he has a better chance in proving his heritage since he was acknowledged
The books are excellent. It is a fantasy series, they usually don't get noticed by most people until television or film gets hold of them. I will warn you that they are very long, but they are some of the best books I have ever read. They really make the world come to life and the character development is amazing. If you like the TV series you will love the books. I can't wait for "The Winds of Winter" to be released.
All hail Stannis of the House Baratheon the first of his name, rightful King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Saviour of The Wall and Protector of the Freefolk and Giants, and Azor Ahai Reborn. Approved by the Iron Bank of Braavos.
I'm gonna be honest... I don't think they killed Stannis either. Not because they wouldn't or couldn't, just because it didn't feel right. Killing him off screen? No final words? That look in Brienne's face? I don't know guys... I could be wrong, but I expect him to turn up next season. Him and Jon Snow after Melissandre revives him when she realizes he is Azor Ahai.
+Paultinent No, that "Do your duty" was him giving up. He realized he had lost everything, his family, his army, his followers, he has nothing left and no reason to go on. He'd never be able to get another loan from the Iron Bank to rebuild his army. He welcomes death.
+samuraikatana1 I don't think they "killed" him... merely his bid for the throne, in the outcome of the Battle of Winterfel. Without Stannis's defeat, a living Jon Snow would remain loyal to Stannis's claim...and not perhaps (R&L?) come to realize his own. However, without Jon being killed... at least, temporarily ...he is bound to his black oath. The killing and resurrection of Jon combined with the sparing, by Brienne, of Stannis, allows BOTH story arcs (Jon Snow's PERSONAL story, and the story line of events at the wall) to be carried on by familiar protagonists (Jon and Stannis, Jon relieved from his oath by his "death" and Stannis as his replacement Lord Commander. "I never knew Justice, until I knew Stannis" - Davos Seaworth).
So this house is pretty much dead now, right? Robert had no true heirs, Stannis never had a son, and Renly had... other complications. The only person in Westeros to have Baratheon blood is Gendry, and he's just a bastard rowing a boat.
Technically yes, but in the books there is a character named Edric Storm who is a acknowledged bastard of King Robert and cousin of Stannis' wife. So Edric would be full fledged noble, but a bastard still. So if some circumstances come around he could be recognized as Baratheon.
The Baratheons are basically extinct. The Tyrells are basically extinct (since Olenna can't have kids and has no other children). The Arryns have no heir and a weak boy as lord. The Tullys only have that weak fool Edmure left and no lands or power. The Starks are doing better, but they have no heirs, a Bastard, a cripple, and girls. The Greyjoys seem to be doing great though. Plenty of them left. Not for long though!

Yes, but you can't blame him. He thought he had the Kings Landing watch, but they betrayed him.
He actually can be blammed, he trusted Little Finger to buy the watch.
Wouldn't that put the blame on Little Finger?
UngeniousIdea
Not really.

Out of all the Game of Thrones music, this was the most epic one to me.
+Draik Stannis is very much dead. Gendry has been lost at sea for 3 seasons.
They played the main melody from Throne Is Mine for Tommen.
He might only have Lannister blood but he is still known as Tommen Baratheon and it is the Baratheon name which keeps him on the throne (so it's still a fitting theme when discussing his 'kingliness.'

Stannis and Robb could have been the two Kings of Westeros.
Stannis wouldn't have allowed another king, aside from him.
The people who respect Stannis are the people that respect honesty, the only decent people in the show/books, people like Ned Stark, Davos, even Jon Snow, people who care about justice, duty, something other than personal gain, the ones who hate him, hate him because they can't buy him or frighten him into submission, he has fought for the kingdom and its people(not just the crown) so for me he deserves it, (and it is his by right.. of course)

Wish granted my lord
Every time I see the baratheon coat of arms, I think "how did they managed to put the crown on the stag?"
every season the stag sheds his horns.
***** It's kind of as much right the Baratheons as it is the Targaryens. Aegon took Westeros by force and started his own dynasty, as did Robert.
***** in that case your view is too idealistic. GoT is not something static but the contrary. If you observe it like that, the Targarayens' place is on another continent....

Out of every soundtrack in the series, this is probably my favourite. It's such a medieval and "kingly" soundtrack, and overall awesome.
Why does Baratheon theme sound more regal than the Targaryen?
Justin Nguyen I want to see him cast this season. The Blackfyres are so awesome, and we haven't really officially seen them yet.
Aegon VI "Young Griff" is not a Blackfyre. He's a legit first son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell. Not a Targaryen bastard. Truly if Jon Show is son of Rhaegar, he is the real Blackfyre.
Dancho Ivanov No way, dude. There's too much evidence for people to believe in the right mind he isn't a Blackfyre.

Two things. One: You'll Be Queen One Day is when Ned is talking to Sansa, so it is incorrect to call it a Baratheon track. Two: In Martin's world there is cruel justice. When Walder Frey dies his hundred sons will slaughter each other for his power. If you read the books, you'd have read the part about how the Walders are just waiting for their father to die.
that house is so underrated in the novel and the series as well
Yeah I wanted to see more of them and Storm's end.
The fact that The Baretheons are part Targaryen makes it such a a bad ass, intriguing, strong, challenging and Royal (Goddamn) House
0:00 - 1:52 =Robert
1:52 - 5:06 =Joffrey
5:06 - 6:40 =Tommen
6:40 - 7:42 =Renly
7:42 - End =Stannis
Second part is too epic for Joffrey
Since when are Tommen and Joffrey are Baratheons ?
He welcomes death.
imagine if season 6 starts with stannis head just dropping to the floor and then the theme song just happens. i kinda woulda cry
+The Boss I couldn't imagine that they'd be THAT mean but remembering Benjen in the "Previously on" tells me otherwise :(
+Paultinent
You forget that House Tarth was one of the few houses that did not flock to Stannis after Renly was killed.
The only person in Westeros to have Baratheon blood is Gendry, and he's just a bastard rowing a boat.
yep, house is dead
yeah not much left is there? all except for gendry
Well, Tommen is known as the son of Robert, but practically, yes.
Why in the seven hells do they play Baratheon music for Joffery when he is 100% Lannister and a bastard of incest?
Because he doesnt know himself that hes the product of a brother and sister of house lannister
Lelouch vi Britannia he is a literal basters though. Born from unwed parents.
Lelouch vi Britannia nigga thinkin tyrion aint referring to him being an incestous freak?
That doesn't change the fact his name is Joffrey BARATHEON.
You did, yet your grammar is incorrect.
GENDRY'S BACK!
GENDRY IS BACK
This soundtrack is badass. Love the House Baratheon but my loyalties lie with House Stark. Winter is Coming.
"Ours is the fury" Most badass motto ever.
Even though Baratheon kinda gave a bad first impression, the theme is so good I can't even.
