I lived on the street in Omaha for almost 4 years. I met members from just about every organization between there north. I spent the first year and a half on 24th st. I will say 3 things. I have a deep respect for “the bricks” and the people that call it home. 1. There isnt a hood more well patrolled and protected esp in the O. I got “checked” more on the borders of the bricks than anywhere ever. But I also always felt safe within their borders. 2. Them boys are about that life. It wasn’t necessary NIKE, but may or have not been. They (the members in the bricks) removed a undercover officer in bedded into their operation. They left his ass slumped in his car in the parking lot of a shipping company just down the hill 3. I’ve never seen a culture like this function so closely with groups with ties to South of the border. 2 miles from the bricks I would consider the Mexico of Omaha Lastly the song mentions Fourth of July Fourth of July in the bricks is insane. That whole area is insane on Fourth of July. The only thing I can think of that might describe it would be as like a small country getting invaded it’s nuts
