Super Horror M or Sonic.EXE? Who will come on top in this battle for the ages?
First things first, I did not make this cover. My good friend @CraftyMooMan is responsible for it. He didn't save the FLP either.. So I can't provide it, nor the vocals. So if you want to chart this or make a mod of it, you're on your own.
Thumbnail and Video Background were made by me, but they use assets from Mario's Madness V2 (Sprites and Icons), the cancelled and an unfinished build of Sonic.EXE (Sonic.EXE's V2.5 Sprite and the Green Hill backdrop), and BlueFox's fan-made icons for the aforementioned mod. Song is All-Stars from Mario's Madness.
Nothing's changed about the cover itself, but the video background is much clearer and not de-saturated anymore.

Case anyone didn't get it immediately, the red and blue text in the thumbnail is NOT M or Sonic.EXE, it's fans of the respective mods arguing.
Also, my personal opinion, in terms of quality Mario's Madness clears Sonic.EXE. But Sonic.EXE quite literally is legendary, there's a reason why EXE mods are not only abundant but notorious. Whether that's a good or bad thing is subjective, fact of the matter is Sonic.EXE quite literally left an irrevocable mark on FNF as a whole. So I think in terms of "legacy", Sonic.EXE wins in that regard. Overall, I like them both a lot.
Don't forget that mario madness V2 REVIVED fnf
I don't know if I'd say it "revived" it. It breathed some fresh new life into it and is currently taking the fandom by storm as several of the songs have reached or are reaching 1 million views (something that not many mod songs have done as of recent) but FNF was and still is just in an "okay" position.@@Pingu12363Mn

Thank you. I was considering doing a line for that, since I do a good Ultra M impression, but I decided against it.
This dialogue would imply Sonic.exe is trying to copy MM in concept, as if it isn't the other way around, while Sonic.exe shoots itself in the foot several dozen times to try and spite Revie.
@@metalapplesusThat's not entirely true. Something can come along later and overshadow something older. Like a sequel better than the original movie.
90% of the horror mods out there are just trying to copy the original FNF vs Sonic.exe's concept of "bringing in many creepypastas and other stories involving one sole character/franchise for the sake of celebration/community" and terribly hiding the fact that they want to be it but better.
Regardless of how you see the Sonic devs, or the quality of these successors, you can't really deny just how much of a foundation and milestone it is in the FNF modding scene, even if it is a stain.
When Xenophanes’s bad luck overcomes him so badly that he loses to Ultra M:
If you ask me, he'd lose regardless. M seemingly effortlessly nullifies GF's powers, which Xeno couldn't do anything about in his encounter.

@@Xellion867you gotta remember DD trapped M in a game cartridge and he was a marketing expert, so he would know how to use his things to his advantage, so M knows more about his powers because he used to work with them. Sonic.exe on the other hand, is mostly an AI character so he is still learning how his powers work.
I don't think I necessarily need to say it, but I will just in case, but Zee asked me for permission to upload these covers, and I gave him permission to.

I would’ve liked it if Xeno also mimicked his mods characters, but good cover still!
I would've done that, but it'd make Act 4 sound really messy.
It also wouldn't be lore accurate. Xenophanes isn't a combination of all the other characters like Ultra M is, so it makes no sense (outside of headcanon/fanfiction) for him to do that.@@CraftyMooMan

But it would need some tweaking for sure, I ain't really into it because of the Vocals, but if someone manages it. It'd be the lifetime of a mod.

Ultra M's lyrics are tailor-made to go with the canon situation of BF singing against a soul-stricken GX. It wouldn't make sense to keep the Act 3 lyrics in tact considering it's M against Sonic.EXE, who didn't fail to save anyone.

In reality, ultra m in his final form would body xenophans. Ultra m has beings like mr L, GB, mr v, omega, mx, on his side, he isnt stupid, he understands good combat,

@@CraftyMooMan Yeah, at the very start of the VS. Sonic.EXE mod he tries to attack BF but gets prevented by GF simply blocking it with her powers.
Idk what happens in YCR or Triple Trouble but she disappears after Too Slow, but I don't think Xeno could've done anything to her if he couldn't even take care of BF.

If you want Xeno with mimics, go listen to a Xeno All Stars cover, or my SECRET EXIT cover. Giving him mimics here would be a ton of unnecessary work and the payoff would be a mess.
Not to mention Xeno doesn't even do that, so it wouldn't make sense.

Xeno schooling ultra m the only real reason ultra m beat bf was because they were in his world
They were also in Xeno's world during his mod, and yet he lost.
Upon looking back at the mod, after YCR I assume Xeno's scream did something to GF because she doesn't appear again in the "story" after that. Then in Final Escape, Xeno's pretty much got BF dead to rights, until he suddenly transforms. But even with that transformation BF doesn't overcome or beat Xeno, he uses that as an opportunity to keep running. It's not much, but this could suggest that Xeno is stronger than the average display of power from the Chaos Emeralds. How that compares to M, especially in HIS own domain, is unknown.

@@OverZeelousSuper BF is him using Super Saiyan though, right? I don't think the Chaos Emeralds appear when he transforms, and it is something he can canonically do. And even then, Xeno reacts to him transforming like it's a big deal, which I don't think he'd do if he was still more powerful. And I think Xeno's scream probably just warped GF elsewhere, since we see her in Faker and Round-a-bout.
On the wiki it says BF gains "Super energy", and in the context of Sonic that would be Chaos energy.
Also, I said she doesn't appear again in the "story". Sound test songs aren't the story. @@CraftyMooMan

Also, just me personally, but I do not subscribe to the nonsense of a mimic battle, you wouldn't even be able to hear the mimics if they're both doing it.
3 reasons.
1. It wouldn't make sense for him to
2. It'd sound really messy
3. Too much effort, especially paired with reasons above.

Just out of curiosity, who’s singing GF’s part in Act 3? I could’ve sworn I heard those chromatics from somewhere before hand, but I just can’t quite make out who that is.
It's Mario's chroms from Starman Slaughter, layered over each other.
@@OverZeelous I see. How interesting. Now I wonder what’s the context for said Act in this particular cover. Or are they just keeping rapping it out without anything else to it?
The way I envision it, starting out they're both enjoying the "fight" they're having, then by the end of Act 1 they've grown a bit fatigued, and so sic their pawns on each other, ala Act 2. But that doesn't work out in favor of either of them, so in Act 3 they're at their wits end with one another, having a frustration-fueled back and forth. From the start of Act 4 till the end, they've shown both of their hands, and are going all-out for a grand finale.@@user-1mc0n4us.ed-_-
@@OverZeelous That works quite well! Great background story for the cover. Speaking of which, excellent cover all around. I almost consider it far better than the original considering the quality chroms. Nice job with it.
Edit: only real thing that I thought could have been improved was during that somewhat awkward silence where Ultra M originally does his speech to BF in the very beggining of Act 4. Besides that though, again, splendid cover over all.
