12 Things The Minions Rise Of Gru Changed From Despicable Me
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- The Despicable Me franchise has been around for over a decade now with the first film being released all the way back in 2010. Then, the Minions films were born out of Gru and his Gorls. The most recent Minions film-The Minions Rise of Gru-bridges the gap between Minions and Despicable Me.
The film follows child Gru in the 1970s chasing his dreams of not only becoming the best supervillain of all time but attempting to become a part of the famous supervillain group, the Vicious 6. It also follows the early days of Gru and the Minions and how he went from Mini-Boss to Boss in the Despicable Me movies. All while dealing with the magical stone thats causing chaos in the city.
But despite Rise of Gru being a part of the Despicable Me universe there are plenty of differences between the film, and the Despicable Me films we already know. From new characters, seeing our favorite characters in different ways, changing settings, and even a new minion to love, The Rise of Gru introduces so many new aspects to the world of Despicable Me.
Make you let us know in the comments if you’ve noticed any other differences between Rise of Gru and Despicable me. Do you think the film would have been better if it wasn’t made during the pandemic? Oops!!!😓 Sorry it's not DreamWorks, we know 🙏🏼
Im pretty sure we all heard and know of mistakes and even done it ourselves.
ILLIUMINATION!!!!
Yeah it’s illumination
its illumination EOTIONAL DAMAGE
@@FlipVerse228 ILLUMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!
It's ironic how Wild Knuckles said "shoot for the moon", and years later, takes it.
Edit: um thanks for almost 500 likes
I think that’s the point
Wk : shoot for the moon...
Everyone: nice this is the reason why he is the best villain-
Gru : hey gramps here’s the moon
Wow I had that theory too
that's the point
🤩perfect
Personally, I think that Otto found the guy on the motorcycle and went with him instead of Gru, which I believe is the answer to why we don't see Otto in the future.
I think hes just one of the fat minions in the background of despicable me, just like how kevin and bob aren’t in despicable me while stuart is for whatever reason
thats smart!
@@explosivesilliness thanks :)
No otto!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on you saved gru please nooooooooo
i hope this is the case, sounds nice
Spoiler alert:About Gru house,I’m thinking that he build that house to memorate is 1st super vilain fan, because if you saw his house(the captain of vicious 6 who got kicked)got his house destroyed but we saw a chair that is exactly the same has gru when he active to go into basement
What
Nice eye you got there,I didn't even notice lol
ANd the gator chouchs
Not even close
It’s also in the same tall and sleek style too
I personally believe that Wild Knuckles might actually be Gru's biological grandfather, who abandoned his kid to pursue his villainy. Said child being... Gru's mother.
Either that or he used his real last name as his first, and dropped the E.
Ergo his last name could be Wilde, thus being Lucy's Grandfather. Who's kid ended up joining AVL out of contempt for his father abandoning him for villainy.
Now THAT would be an interesting tie in, Gru being related to his idol whether direct or through marriage.
@Gunner 07 That is true
his name is acually willy
@Gunner 07 that might be wild knuckles just when he's older since you know if you have watched the movie the ending
I agree
@Gunner 07 they said his grandfather bro not dad
Despite being worked on in the pandemic, this is actually a really solid movie, I love it
You might even say its one of the movies of all time
@@beakslololol4347 It is the movie of all time

Bro, it's Illumination Entertainment. They don't even know what a good movie is and their strategy is basically to do anything in order to make money except for producing solid movies.
@@tobstobs950 oh, well that's your opinion sir. 🤓
I shed a tear when gru said “it’s gruin time” 😢

Also if the minions movie took place in 1968 (when they meet scarlett overkill to the end where they meet gru) and how the minions rise of gru took place in 1976, that means that gru was 3 years old when he stole the crown from scarlett overkill at the end of the minions.

Otto the new minion better be in every new media after this. He’s my favorite. He’s so cute!
The movie Minions, Rise of Gru, is unequivocally the greatest film of the decade, for now I question whether I, and humanity as a species, are worthy of this life changing masterpiece. Immaculate, extravagant, and brilliant are nowhere near enough to describe this film. This movie was truly encompassing of all emotions, along with profoundly polished animation, near flawless lip-syncing, and subtle and powerful moments of comedy. The scene where the minions comply with a request for peanuts by giving not the bag, but a single peanut, made the theater roar with applause, and led to a standing ovation in the middle of the film. In fact, that scene was a subtle criticism of the current economic "situation" regarding inflation, or shrinkflation, to be more accurate. However, the movie also includes more wholesome scenes, such as when the Minions (very graciously) almost crash an airplane with live passengers into an air traffic control tower. My first time watching the film, I ended up shaking, crying, and falling over, while the moviegoers around me began chanting pro-gru chants. When I woke up, I ascended to the astral plane and witnessed millions of human lives being saved because of this masterpiece of a film. Thousands of people fell to their knees at various grocery outlets and fast food chains as applause drowned out the ending credits. "Minions: The Rise of Gru" defines the expansiveness of what we as a civilization can achieve if we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to our craftz.
Goddam
How hell is that comment
Your comment changed my life completely. Thank you.
kinda exaggerated but sure man
Dreamworks didn't make this movie. They had to change alot of things in here sine Gru is a kid in this era, No Gorls, a new minion member, his childhood home (obivously) different goals, like did you reallly think he always wanted to steal the moon?
Also Dru Gru wasn't a villian, Bratt was the villian in DM3. Everybody knows that. I think you stumbled on some things man. Just saying.
Dru became a villain at the very end. Bratt was a villain.
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 I know that, yes. But this guy put Dru in there like Dru was one of the villians Gru fought throughout the movies. He for got to mention Bratt.
@@PussInBootsTheLastWishFan2003 I thought Dru was trying to keep the 'family tradition' alive and was just trying to mess with Gru?
@@roby4504 so in Despicable Me 4 they will just become villains again to make Dru happy
bro read the pinned comment before you comment
not only gru's mom and dr nefario are young in this movie, in the scene where wild and gru try to rob the bank, the banker showed the picture of him with his nephew who is vector.
That's his son
wow such an amazing observation
but if its in the 70s and vector is in his 20s in despicable me how is he not 40? im pretty sure either he time traveled or de aged or thats vectors dad
because the age in despicable me and minions are kinda nonsense, i feel like in the film, two of the henchmen in wild knuckle team look familiar, the biggest guy looks like el macho despicable me 2, the thinnest guy with glasses looks like bratt from despicable me 3.
@@sgtbrunope gru is somewhere between 26-34 in despicable me, 36-43 in despicable me 2, 47-53 in despicable me 3.
I died laughing every time he said “Gorls” 🤣
I think we see some otto, he just doesnt have braces which is his iconic look. He is in Despicable Me 3 and is shown stomping on multiple things. I also like how Wild Knuckles house is huge compared to other houses and I assume Gru took inspo on that and did the same thing. This movie was amazing and i wish they made a short film with the uncle and otto
No, Otto is only in the prequel. In Wiki Wild Knuckle's gave his house to Gru, Gru probably renovated the house.
I love that the vicious 6 character designs are very 70s. Which is the time this is set place.
😐
@@masondegallery What?
Thats like saying " I love how they made sure not to use any mobile phones in the movie, since they did not exist in the 70s"
No shit sherlock, thats the point
@@soda-cr1pn but how do ya explain the red flying car? Hmm? Hmm? Hmm?
WOW! They worked from home and made it THAT funny? That's AWESOME! They did such a great job!

And also the Minions stopped calling Gru Mini Boss and starting calling him Big Boss at the post credits scene when Dr Nefario and Gru left the scene with Gru's future flying jet.
I think you made a mistake.
Scarlet overkill was not a future villain. But a past. Cause in Minions it showed Stewart, Bob and Kevin worked with Scarlett BEFORE Gru. So the timeline for Gru goes like this.
1. Scarlett Overkill
2. Vicious 6
3. Vector
4.Eduardo Perez(El Macho)
5. Dru and Balthazar Bratt
vector?
@@casmerabuda3706 Vector is literally number 3. I didn't forget him.
You only listed the main antagonists, there are more villains like mr perkins, his bank is literally called the bank of evil, in minions herb, he was the one behind scarlet overkill armory and probably commit crimes, frankie fishlips is one of the villains that capture the minion trio, he is also seen when gru and wild knuckles robbed the bank of evil, in despicable me 3 clyde, he was bratts sidekick, and also brattpack, that army exploded the twin brothers car, they should atleast be charged with assault and vandalism
Extra Villains Gru Met:
Mr. Perkins
Herb Overkill
Frankie Fishlips
Clyde
Brattpack
2:06 Meanwhile, Mel in Despicable Me 3: Being the leader and a very smart Minion
And a bossy one too.
@@traviscunningham7062 I agree
Did you notice at the end when Knuckles said: "Shoot for the moon"? That could be why he did that.
fun fact: vector was in the rise of gru when gru talked to vectors dad he showed a picture of vector and said i have a son
great planning for a sequel
@@bv83x vector is the villan of the first despicable me…
I knew he was appearing because I know vector can't leave gru alone
@Deepfakes
Dude what the fuck spoiler??
Minions 3 vector rises
All Gru has to do to join the Vicious 6: "I agreed with everything mein fuhrer did during the Second World War."
Something I noticed. Gru uses the freeze ray gun at the end of the first minions movie, because he probably stole it when it was being used at villain con. Yet now he has to get it again?
Good point
Theory- Wild knuckle's house is actually future grus home just re-built since the neighbourhood looks the exact same as the despicable me neighbourhood in the first few movies of the franchise.
In the end Wild Knuckles says, “Shoot for the moon” and he is so inspired, he does what he said as an adult
TheThings Animation: “The movie is different because Gru hasn’t done what he did in the original film yet.”
The viewer: “Yes… that’s what a prequel is…”
Would love to see Otto in despicable me 4
He is
I guess he faded into the background after the 70’s
yessss he's so cute! cant wait to see more otto!
I still wonder if the scene where Kevin got turned into a rabbit was a nod to the blog someone made to shame the minions for being too similar to the rabbids in spite of a few noticeable differences.
Who know
I’m still wondering which one is more annoying
Rabbids or minions
Considering rabbids were the “original minions” probably is
@@frank8917 rabbids, I only remember them making mayhem at least minions are actually good but just make mistakes
we could've had rayman 4 man.
Both the Minions and the Vicious 6 are transformed into animals from the Chinese zodiac, one of which is a rabbit.
My grandparents went to see this movie with my little cousin, and my grandpa ended up just loving the movie mostly because of it’s throwback to the 1960’s/1970’s soundtrack
It's changed as despicable me is adult gru and minions rise of gru is when he's young so it changed overtime
At 5:53 you can see Otto in a chair to the left under the palm tree.
He’s probably just retired and enjoying life.
I know you say there’s no scarlet overkill in the movie but there is one reffrence. Gru has a lunchbox (in a scene I don’t fully remember) that has scarlet on it. I like the small references In movies
First of all, Minions. The first movie based on the whole franchise. That’s before gru was introduced to this platform. Then the second movie in order WAS despicable me, 1 2 and 3 . But before the despicable me movies is this movie. It only just came out but isn’t IME order this is the second movie biologically. And in minions Scarlett overkill was the minions boss. That then got defeated (I think). And then they saw gru. This Leads to the movie here. The reason the minions didn’t have the sign on the overalls is because gru hadn’t formed the minions yet, gru wasn’t officially a villain, in this movie he’s trying to join his idols. This is based on his CHILDHOOD. > so he will have different goals, different weapons and different achievements. So Gru is not the same here as the despicable me movies. Gru could have also re built his home. Maybe the lab was always here just as a bunker? Who knows? But the girls aren’t here either . Also, the minions were still looking for a new boss for a while until they finally found gru because if you remember at the end of the minions movie, Scarlet overkill and the minions were in LONDOn. Stealing the queens crown. But then Gru had froze Scarlett and took the crown for himself leaving. That’s when the minions discovered gru.
the minions symbol was shown being stamped on the overalls in the credits
@@Rubberland5 ty for the info
Honestly I liked this movie, I was laughing all the way through and it was interesting seeing Gru's life as a kid to where he is now, it was amazing seeing characters that were young
watching all these movies from the very childhood.Still the new movie was awesome to me
I think it was better made in the pandemic because while it wad delayed the creators of the series took time to add new ideas to the movie and probaly take out some scenes out that probaly would've hurt the movie.
1:02 wide knuckles , wide tails , wide sonic
i feel like "nun-chuck" is the funniest pun i heard today
I Love so much you work ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This movie is surely one of the movies of all time
I love when gru s
Shouted "its gruin time" i literally morbed
3:52 you forgot to mention the bull
Fun Fact: Gru got his House from Wild Knuckles, Wild Nuckles give the house to gru when Wild Knuckles died, if your asking why the house is do Different? Well the Answer is Gru renovated it with Doctor Nefarios help, as you can see the Chair of Wild Knucles is on Gru's House.
I’m like 60% sure this is a prequel so it wasn’t changed it was like this :)
not 60%, it *is* a prequel. the title is totally clickbait, he's just pointing out the differences between the original trilogy and this movie - which are obviously gonna be different, because they take place in other places, years and it explains the characters' origins.
The most known Minions were Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Dave.
Where was Dave in this movie?
He went to buy milk
@@MGharriy no
Most likely he found Jesus and he believed Jesus is important than making a movie.
also it's stuart
What about Mel?
@@shadyphoenix don't remember that one. Was he in all 3 movies?

"The rise of gru is a prequel, something we have never seen in the franchise"
Minions (2015):
Actually if you looked at all the movies-
Wonderful and phenomenal movie series. Greatest movie series in the history of hollywood. Best of the best.
Maybe Gru's new home is built in where Gru lives now and maybe they moved in
Actually the minions rise of gru were a time when it was the first time gru made friends with the minions before gru had his logo on their overalls or on his vehicle
But it's weird that the logo is on his flying thingy in the minions
Hmmmmmmmm good point
YOOOO I think Otto just got a new hair cut and I realize Otto had braces
Amazing video 👌
When I went to see minions the rise of gru,I dressed up as Otto.
Because its before despicable me
Going to see it this Friday. I need to watch something funny and animated lol.
Thank you to not having spoilers
Wasn’t that flying man who also wanted a spot in the Six a major villain in one of the Despicable Me movies.

I love all the references to the first movie in rise of gru
6:22 its illumination!!
Another character which was showed younger was actually vector! he was showed in the bank scene

What did you mean. By future villians scarlet overkill was in the future? I thought rise of gru takes place after the first movie
It does
Begore
I love the video
because I love Minions
I think it would be cool if they made a movie about the aftermath of Gru's death, and where the minions head to next.
Ok course they changed it the despicable me movies are about the adult version of him where he already went through that face of life so in this movie we get to see that younger face of life he won’t be exactly like his older self
0:33 *rabbids have joined the chat*
Gru:sings song
Me:did I ask for a song?
I hope they can make another movie to tell us how Gru became a real evil villain before the first movie.
Wow, sorry guys but there's a lot of mistakes in here... spellings, facts, the timeline 😅
6:06 do you mean "Illumination"?
The fact that gru's clothes don't change since his a kid lol
Interesting and cool vid. I watched the movie; it was good; I liked it.

Not close to The greatest but still really good
@@Brash_Candicoot shut up nerd, it's gruin' time!
theres actually a scarlet overkill lunch box easter egg somewhere in the movie
I saw that too
this is cool
you do make a good point its weird a guy from the 1970s has a magazine from the 1960s but it might be because he held onto that magazine because he loved it and he never let it go. and thats why he has it. he collected it in the 60s and held onto it in the 70s
Can we pls admit that goat bob is so adorable
It’s still hilarious haha 😂
The only thing I like about the Vicious 6 is literally their team logo.
Wild knuckles survived the fall and faked his death to be villains with Gru
gru actually rebuild wild knuckles's house they look similiar exept for the crocodile pool
Despicable me is the future and the rise of gru was when gru was a CHILD 💀
Great video!! If anyone wants to know the music its: Kazoom
I'm glad that they mad the resign for the minions because the og minions used to scare the heck outa me

In rise of gru , gru meets doctor nefario as a record seller. BUT in the minions 2015 , in one of villain -con backgrounds we see how dr. Nefario LITERALLY demonstrated the freeze ray by gru .
( P.S. that also explains whyin final of minions 2015 gru appears with the freeze ray)
