I reject the hypothesis of "creepy" and "the ick". It's shaming language to denigrate and control men. Why should we as men, care so much about what women value? Do they care about what we value? Why does everything center around them?
The way to avoid being creepy is to flirt first with the woman. From her response, the man can then escalate that to asking her out. Basically, men in Gen Z got no game. Cowardice is not a quality women find attractive in men.
