      Do you mean at 17:50? If so, then Mrs Mack's delightfully convulsed face is the result of her desperately trying not to break wind in the presence of the rather refined Minister. She had kippers for breakfast that morning and they tend to make her, shall we say, a bit gassy.

    I would never have expected that Grace Lachlan could be quite so petty and mean.
    Poor, old Dougal, he can't help being as gauche as he is - after all, it has been bred into him. He's just an unthinking, socially awkward man who by nature isn't particularly tuned in to other people's sensibilities. He isn't malicious, just unaware, and to a degree, indifferent.
    But know this, if you were a friend of Dougal, he would always have your back, and would always do the decent thing by you.
    At the end of the day, he's a bit of a silly oaf - but means well.
