Same type of play in my steering. About to adjust this after I replace the pitman and idler arms, brackets etc. Good to know how to make the adjustments. Thanks for the info

I'll be doing this soon. I replaced EVERY steering part, added $250 arm supports and still have almost an inch of play. Wasn't like that before my lift and alignment so I'm thinking they messed with it.

How did it feel after? I assumed mine was just like the old trucks I grew up with. Never knew I could adjust it. I only actually started watching video because my PS every now and then feels like it's rubbing. (That's what I get for 4x4 but it's a Hummer why not) anyways thanks for video I'll try to adjust this weekend.

How tight should the nut be after adjusting? Any torque recommendation?

20.034 Views. CLOCK Wise TO TIGHTEN I’ll send this to the AAA Mechanic they said they couldn’t do it because the lift at the time was having problems and it wasn’t able to lift a hummer H2 so they’ll call me back when they get the lift fixed now this looks like there’s no need OF A LIFT .Maybe they need to check some underneath I don’t know about but I like to study. I like to find out all the nuts and bolts of the issue. This is a good video. Nature Coast Florida seeing Hummers for sale and And The Road Looking Good

I replaced upper/lower steering shaft, didn't fix the steering play, the OEM gear was leaking so today I replaced it with a new one, play didn't go away😞...can I adjust the brand new gear box or what's my next bet in your opinion?? Great vid. By the way

check tie rod ends and also wheel alignment before touching the gearbox.

In fact, check tie rod ends, pitman arm and other front end steering parts need to be checked for slack....

🙋Nice video do you by chance know if it is a power steering hose that runs towards the top right corner behind the bumper of the truck somewhere beneath the radiator? It appears I have a leak there in that area after parking on concrete I saw a big spot of leakage which appears to be power steering fluid. I checked the power steering cooler & it's corroded & clearly needs replacing. I wasn't sure if the cooler was my only problem or if it's also something else too. Also it's a loud whirring noise when the truck is running stationary in park & gets louder when you apply the brakes. If you by chance know where my leak may be coming from your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks👍😁👌

It could be tranny fluid or PS fluid, There is also the brake line going around (given the brake noise..it is a suspect too). Tranny fluid is reddish/brownish and smells lil burn. PS or brake fluid are similar color. Check the reservoirs which one is going low. I rather change all those lines one at a time if getting rusty.

Thanks bud that's great advice I'll be sure to do that my ps reservoir is completely empty & unusually dry & my big problem could just be the highly corroded cooler it looks really bad. I'm going to take a look under the truck to check for additional leaks, I'll keep you updated on what I find out👍😁😎😉👌

new coolers for PS and tranny oil secondary are better option. $25 each but saves the day.

Thanks I will be replacing both for sure. By the way how much power steering fluid should I put back in the Hummer if it's been completely drained & leaked out?

Never said whether it made a difference in the steering play! Video had extremely poor lighting as well.
