After last years remarkably dry search for the slop we decided it was high time we visited Ireland - One of the muddiest rainiest places around and where the lads all loveeeeee some slop! There's also a big concentration of insanely talented, dedicated riders and racers who are doing big things on the world stage, truly some of the worlds best riders live in close proximity to one another.
- Greg Callaghan has won multiple World Enduros,
- Oisin O'Callaghan was Junior DH World Champion and has now won and Elite world cup,
- Ronan Dunne has multiple DH world Cup podiums to his name,
- Dan Wolfe has World Enduro top 10s and a host of other impressive results, - Gav Carroll is a full time enduro rider and has incredible skills on a bike,
- Glyn O'Brien was a professional World Cup racer and finished 3rd place at RedBull Rampage
- Kelan Grant has a host of top Enduro World Series results
- Jacob Dickson has numerous Dh world Cup top 20 results
WE then hopped across the ferry to meet Alex Storr and his brother Sam. Sam is still a junior but has outrageous skills, Alex is fast becoming a fan favourite to watch ride a bike, as well as having mutliple top 5 stages times at Enduro World Cups this year. It feels like a matter of time until he wins a world cup.
Our final stop on the trip brought us home to Fort William.
- Mikayla Parton has numerous DH World Cup top 10 finishes
- Daniel Parfitt is a Junior DH world Cup racer, has multiple National podiums and a first full season of world cup racing ahead of him in 2024

You get caught doin this in the rain at my local trails and they’ll have a hissy fit 😂. On the bucket list to go ride in Ireland in whatever weather is going at the moment

That was poetry in motion! Love seeing some of my local trails get a proper thrashing, particularly liked the variation in styles of the different riders, from Greg’s powerful and smooth style to Gavins super active riding and Liams way of guiding the bike through repeated berms. Makes me want to go out for a spin myself!

These guys shred in all weather, meanwhile my local trails close after a quarter inch of rain for 2 days before opening back up 😆
Unfortunately in Ireland we get rain pretty much all year round so we don't have a choice but to ride in it. It's does damage the trails a good bit though so have to keep on top of the maintenance.

Haha some Niteworks could be a good shout!! Might be harder to fit to a section than Peat and Diesel, their tunes have the right pacing and feel for so many riding sections!!I'm gonna try and get some Niteworks in there next time now though haha!

Insane trip, exactly what me and the crew do. Got a question, good tips on drying wet clothes on multi day rides, staying in a van (I don't have a diesel heater)
Ahh drying the kit is definitely the hardest bit. When driving we would put the shoes in the passenger footwell and get the blowers on them max haha we each had a couple sets of shoes to give them a couple days to dry on a cycle. Other than that we tried to take a set of kit for each day if possible. The rain jackets dry pretty fast so we would just hang them on the wing mirror if it was dry or somewhere inside. Then we just dedicated some big bin bags in the back to wet kit. Got a bit stinking towards the end!
