Holy moly. Excellent video. I'm trying to work my way up to some Tarr, but I fear The Turin Horse might not be the best starting point in my current frame of mind!
Werkmeister Harmonies is probably the best introduction. It’s getting a 4K rerelease soon, so maybe you can even catch it in a movie theater. Thank you for the kind words!

one of my fav movies, i personally interpret this movie as happening not in the 1800s but in present day eastern europe. no "evidence" to back this, just how i interpret it
I thought you were saying the terrid. horse, but it's just your accent. Thank you for switching me on to films I've never seen, ill be watching the Turin horse. If you haven't seen The sacrifice, by Tarkovski you may appreciate it.
...confession, i like a good long slow mindfuck of a film, yet i found Turin Horse so extraordinarily tedious to watch that on the day i lost empathy for the characters, i think i was expecting something a bit more Jodorowsky at the time. However, it is a powerful film, the sense of relentless windswept desolation has resonated with me all these years, and i definitely feel i may have been a tad unfair to it. Understanding that this is the final piece in the director's portfolio, and the path he took, explains a lot, thank you very much. Would definitely recommend the film, but with certain caveats... don't eat... turn the heating off... open all the windows... wear a blanket... ideally watch in a barn...etc...! xd
The end of the world is the end of Convenience... that is it... nothing more.. we are only 6 litres and 4 meals per day away from the end of the world at any given moment. Think about it....
This is a beautiful video. Existential and philosophical. Thank you for making

Incredible video. How you can so frequently upload such thoughtful, well-crafted videos is beyond me!

It’s definitely not for everyone, for sure. You’re right, though. It lingers.
Cornucopian attitudes are what did us in. Nice video mate.
Great video! I love the music you used especially. What piano piece is that?
Thanks! Debussy’s Sarabande
Thanks!

This is the third time this week that a youtuber i watch mention the book the uninhabitable earth. Maybe it is a sign that i should read this book.
Go for it! It's not quite as gloomy as A Farewell to Ice, but it's still full of warnings.
