    Don't ever apologize for showing a 68 427 Vette! Great video!

      I figured it would be OK. Nice car, beautiful color and condition. I'm not sure how to do it, but would love to show some of the cars of the collectors I know. Almost all of the postwar guys I know, have a cool old car!. Thanks, Brian

      Great meeting with you as well. Yeah, mostly a scanner, but I do go slow and low at some tables. Keep looking, there are 950's out there! Thanks, Brian

    I got to meet Roger Carp myself! What a nice guy and a true old-school gentleman!
    Wow, the Lionel WW2 vintage paper train! There's a frequent poster on the "Classic Toy Trains" magazine on-line Forum who goes by the handle "Pennytrains." She actually assembled one of those paper trains (Relax, it was a reproduction, not an original!) and said it was an absolute nightmare!
    It was fun running into you there Brian! Glad you did well for yourself! I did pretty well too, no complaints but let me tell you I was BEAT by 11:00 on Saturday and called it a weekend. I'm "Yorked-out" until next October!

      Yeah, Roger is a great guy and very knowledgable. The Paper train should be an interesting episode. Aint no way Im gonna put one together!! Yeah, I'm Yorked out as well, but it was so fun! Brian

      I'd love to find a paper train, assemble it, refit it with postwar trucks and couplers. Lot of prewar and early postwar 2 rail O scale, as well as HO, was built with embossed paper sides and wood shells under, so making an operating version shouldn't be difficult. And if it is? Well, I enjoy a challenge. Pity I haven't seen any reprints in a while of the set. I've met Mr. Carp too, he is a great guy.

    Great video. I live in south Alabama, but I had the rare opportunity to go to York a few short years ago, and I know what you mean; I'm a train/car guy too. Love my Lionels and my old cars!!

      I grew up in Louisiana, so York was not going to happen then, but I have been able to go since 2000, (my first York). The Fall York is usually the best to go to, got to make it up next year! And Yes, love the old cars these guys have as well! Brian

    Cool! It was a fine show, for sure. It was nice chatting with you over by that table with all those Trainmasters. They were really nice. A bit pricey, but they were certainly in fine shape. Either way, there was a whole lot of great stuff at the show. An excellent video, as always.

    Is the paper and collectibles meeting opened to all TCA members, even if one is not sharing but just learning?

    • @BriansTrainRoom
      @BriansTrainRoom  Місяць тому

      It is open to everyone, it is held after the show typically on a Thursday evening. I think it may be an only October event moving forward. You do not need to bring anything to attend. Thanks and hope to see you there in the future. Brian

    Speak of the devil. The 1955 advance catalog. I had askes about it on another video (I think I accidentally thought 1954) but if I am not mistaken, the never-made Union Pacific GP-7 and caboose appear in that catalog. If you do a video with those catalogs, I would be very interested in seeing.

    • @BriansTrainRoom
      @BriansTrainRoom  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, the 1955 advanced catalog does list the UP GP-7, Such a cool piece. If I can get a hold of the UP prototype , I will show it and the catalog. These are tough to find compared to the other Advanced catalogs. Thanks Brian

    • @modelrailpreservation
      @modelrailpreservation Місяць тому

      @@BriansTrainRoom Does it actually show the loco and the caboose. I painted a later 6167 Union Pacific caboose to approximate the 1955 one they never made. Even swapped frames, added the lights and premium details. But I based mine on the one Lionel made in the late 1990s that was supposedly based on the 1955 one. I'd love to know how close my caboose, and the one from the 1990s was to the actual proposed one. Pity they never made one back then. The caboose would have also matched the 2023 ALCOs.

    I am gobsmacked as to why anyone would fake a No 610 Erie switcher. That's not a particularly valuable item. A CNJ Train Master would make a lot more sense to fake.

    • @BriansTrainRoom
      @BriansTrainRoom  Місяць тому

      Well, the shell was made to simulate the scarce variation of the replacement shell the service stations had for the 610 if your shell broke. What makes is valuable is the side nameplates that were not on regular production . The replacement shells were made a year later on the NEW NW2 shell molds and few were made!. Otherwise, you are right, there is NO value in a fake 610 shell. Brian
