Indeed! He remembered the bamboo and ran out to the orchard (probably looking for fruit and finding something sisa on the ground lol) and then got very hungry! 😂 Seeing his reaction to arriving back really informs us how much three months in a place for a baby his age has an impact. It's really interesting Crusoe feels its his home having been away so long. I hope the water gets sorted. With babies a source of clean hot and could water is much more important than a modern toilet. Especially if you're living somewhat remotely.

John and Tara you are making memories for your kids. Wonderful memories at that. I was married to a serviceman and later joined the Navy myself. We traveled all over the US including Hawaii and now they are adults and talk of all the wonderful times we had together. Of course it doesn't come close to what you guys have traveled. The memories will be endless. Time flies by and your sons will be grown before you know it. I just love your sense of adventure although having 2 babies does seem a bit exhausting. You guys talk about how your car is packed. When my kids were little we moved across country and our car looked like the Beverly Hillbillies going down the road. 😂 Well I'm glad to see you back on the farm and look forward to your videos.❤❤

As I watched this ‘returning home’ video, I was once again struck with how amazing it is that the Universe saw fit to bring the two of you together to form such a sweet, adventurous, beautiful family and plant you on an abandoned piece of land that you call home. Oh, and did I maybe spot Sawyer has ginger hair peeking through, or was it just a trick of the light? My second, I was so so excited to discover she had ginger hair as a baby. She still has beautiful strawberry blond curly hair in her 20s. Good luck with the water situation.
I loved what you said in the car John near the beginning, I am older now and the generation above me are all gone, my aunt being the last one last month, going through all her things (I am like a daughter to her) I realised, here lies 88 years of memories for one person. It was so sad, but along side that I was happy, happy to see in all her photographs that she was loved, by friends and family, she travelled, modelled, sang opera, and nearly married, haha, several times!!! But it's a stark reminder of the fact we can take nothing with us. It's all about moments, stop and enjoy, absorb and appreciate. Your children grow in a blink of an eye and if you do a good job, they will fly away with the wings you will give them and have a full life, whilst remembering the love you gave them and will continue to do throughout their lives with the roots you also gave them.

So glad you guys are getting back to your farm safe and sound and with a visa for everyone - with your new baby Sawyer and Crusoe, who is getting so big and smart! About the water situation in Portugal, do they have "caminhão pipa" / water trucks that can deliver water to your reservoir and/or water tank when needed in a pinch, in the rural areas in Portugal? They are available in Brasil, and sometimes the can be a lifesaver, if for example the regular municipal water is having some sort of interruption.

PS: with a newborn to take care plus Crusoe, plus John, Mom perhaps should consider getting a local helper girl to come over at least once a week so you have more time to rest up a bit, and get your home organized and working again the way you need. Nursing Moms need time to rest and eat properly in order for your milk to flow well and so that it won't dry up too soon. I know, I happily breastfed six of my own - and a little extra help at this phase of your lives makes all the difference in the world. Take good care of yourself also, Tara - your sweet and strong husband is a wonderful man, but you're the precious glue that keeps your lovely Family together 💕💝🌷⚘

The episode we've all been waiting for-a return to the farm, wouldn't be complete without a few bumps. I'm sure the water will get sorted out-although not ideal with two small littles. When John spoke about walking with the boys in the field, it warmed my heart. As you get older you realize you need to live in the moment and not just walk through it on your way to a future goal. I believe in the journey, and for myself those moments have created wonderful memories in my life. I'm so happy you're home💚
They are lucky they will have the film clips to remind them because as I have got older I have forgotten many things (I am 73) eg what age when first walked talked had first tooth…I wish I had kept a journal for each of my children

You did it!👍 well done!🌻🍀🍄 ❤️❤️❤️+❤️ John, with the water: You have to take a closer look, 1 time ->outsides Your farm, where the water comes from? look at the topography...or ask for geologic maps at the village...there must be a source, You have the water rights ..alone? look, if it still runs or not...perhaps You have to grasp the source in a new way.. .(dowser) for this problem isn't new, You have to look at all, ...(my experience here...)... than the canalisation system...perhaps there is a leak ...the dirt inside Your well also tell about something is wrong with the pipes... I really would control the whole system from the beginning...for waterquality in Portugal is a substancial thing!

Hello Newby's... oh the joys of renovations. The water is probably brown because Portugal was going through a drought. Maybe you should have a backup water supply... rain gutters and inground "cistern" to store water. When we lived in upstate NY and were going through a drought situation, we just had to "ration" water. Showers were much shorter, wet yourself down, turn off water, soap up, rinse off. Grey water became plant water, etc. Your spring will need time to catch up. Caruso looks happy to be home. 1st thing he did was look for apples 🍎🍎🍎 and 🎋🎋🎋. Glad to see you back home. Seeing his reaction to arriving back really informs us how much three months in a place for a baby his age has an impact. It's really interesting Crusoe feels its his home having been away so long.
I hope the water gets sorted. With babies a source of clean hot and could water is much more important than a modern toilet.
Especially if you're living somewhat remotely.

John and Tara you are making memories for your kids. Wonderful memories at that. I was married to a serviceman and later joined the Navy myself. We traveled all over the US including Hawaii and now they are adults and talk of all the wonderful times we had together. Of course it doesn't come close to what you guys have traveled. The memories will be endless. Time flies by and your sons will be grown before you know it. I just love your sense of adventure although having 2 babies does seem a bit exhausting. You guys talk about how your car is packed. When my kids were little we moved across country and our car looked like the Beverly Hillbillies going down the road. 😂 Well I'm glad to see you back on the farm and look forward to your videos.❤❤

I loved what you said in the car John near the beginning, I am older now and the generation above me are all gone, my aunt being the last one last month, going through all her things (I am like a daughter to her) I realised, here lies 88 years of memories for one person. It was so sad, but along side that I was happy, happy to see in all her photographs that she was loved, by friends and family, she travelled, modelled, sang opera, and nearly married, haha, several times!!! But it's a stark reminder of the fact we can take nothing with us. It's all about moments, stop and enjoy, absorb and appreciate. Your children grow in a blink of an eye and if you do a good job, they will fly away with the wings you will give them and have a full life, whilst remembering the love you gave them and will continue to do throughout their lives with the roots you also gave them.

So glad you guys are getting back to your farm safe and sound and with a visa for everyone - with your new baby Sawyer and Crusoe, who is getting so big and smart! About the water situation in Portugal, do they have "caminhão pipa" / water trucks that can deliver water to your reservoir and/or water tank when needed in a pinch, in the rural areas in Portugal? They are available in Brasil, and sometimes the can be a lifesaver, if for example the regular municipal water is having some sort of interruption.

PS: with a newborn to take care plus Crusoe, plus John, Mom perhaps should consider getting a local helper girl to come over at least once a week so you have more time to rest up a bit, and get your home organized and working again the way you need. Nursing Moms need time to rest and eat properly in order for your milk to flow well and so that it won't dry up too soon. I know, I happily breastfed six of my own - and a little extra help at this phase of your lives makes all the difference in the world. Take good care of yourself also, Tara - your sweet and strong husband is a wonderful man, but you're the precious glue that keeps your lovely Family together 💕💝🌷⚘

The episode we've all been waiting for-a return to the farm, wouldn't be complete without a few bumps. I'm sure the water will get sorted out-although not ideal with two small littles. When John spoke about walking with the boys in the field, it warmed my heart. As you get older you realize you need to live in the moment and not just walk through it on your way to a future goal. I believe in the journey, and for myself those moments have created wonderful memories in my life. I'm so happy you're home💚

You have to take a closer look, 1 time ->outsides Your farm, where the water comes from? look at the topography...or ask for geologic maps at the village...there must be a source, You have the water rights ..alone?
look, if it still runs or not...perhaps You have to grasp the source in a new way.. .(dowser)
for this problem isn't new, You have to look at all, ...(my experience here...)...
than the canalisation system...perhaps there is a leak ...the dirt inside Your well also tell about something is wrong with the pipes...
I really would control the whole system from the beginning...for waterquality in Portugal is a substancial thing!

Hello Newby's... oh the joys of renovations. The water is probably brown because Portugal was going through a drought. Maybe you should have a backup water supply... rain gutters and inground "cistern" to store water. When we lived in upstate NY and were going through a drought situation, we just had to "ration" water. Showers were much shorter, wet yourself down, turn off water, soap up, rinse off. Grey water became plant water, etc. Your spring will need time to catch up. Caruso looks happy to be home. 1st thing he did was look for apples 🍎🍎🍎 and 🎋🎋🎋. Glad to see you back home. I am so chuckling 🤭 I’ve just watched your vlog - I’ve been away. Loved it btw so exciting I cannot wait what lies ahead for you guys. Chuckling though as out of the mouths of babes 😂 Crusoe has learnt lots of new words sounded like a mix of Afrikaans (sies=disgusting) & Zulu (shisa = hot) & then he says what sounds like kak & Dad says Cake 😂 No explanation needed but perhaps I heard wrong but I’ve been out of Africa so long it’s a word that was used often. 😉 Sleep tight & welcome home x🇵🇹
