Hi Nami, I’m not sure if you will see this or not but I have a few gardening tips for you. 1. When planting make sure to gently break up the soil in the starter plant before putting it into the pot you want it to grow in. 2. An easy way to tell if you are watering enough is to pay attention to how quickly the soil absorbs the water. For example, water for 1-2 seconds and then stop. If the soil sucks the water up quickly keep watering. If the water sits on the soil and absorbs slowly, you can stop. 3. Make several passes over each plant, watering for 1-2 seconds each time. The very first pass over the plant penetrates the soil, the second and third passes go into the deeper parts of the soil. Good luck 😊❤ everything looks great
I loved the little picnic on your balcony. You could always get a collapsible table and chair which wouldn’t take up much space if you want to sit more comfortably. 😊
@@stevenc2149 nothing's sad about it. some people enjoy living alone. for example introverts need a lot of alone time to recharge their batteries after interacting with people at work and shops. not everybody needs to be surrounded by people to be happy.
The food prep is relaxing and appealing, and is enhanced even more by some really meticulous video editing. It must take so long to put these videos together!
Nami if you disturb the root before you plant them, the roots will spread out into the container and be much healthier. If you notice the plants that died still had “pot shaped” roots and had not spread. Also all the soil in the container needs to be damp not just the top couple of centimetres so keep watering till it there is standing water on the surface and water at least twice a day . Love the channel, could you tell us what sort of job you have and a bit more about yourself, also I try and recreate your recipes but it would be very helpful if you could produce an ingredients list. Love from London
Yes--tell us about your job and what your hours are. We would love it if you told us a little more about yourself persoanlly. Do you date? I know that so many singles in Japan do not. Forgive me if I am pryiing. You have so many followers and we are just curious--not trying to be inappropriate.
Twice a day is likely waaay to much unless it is extremely hot or windy, with shallow pots. Maybe the first couple of days until the roots have “set”, but better roots will develop if the plant had to reach for the water in between waterings. Unless pots are very shallow or the plants are particularly fussy a couple of times a week should be lots once the plants are settled. Monitor new growth. That strong venting from the AC would count as wind, though. Mulching would help in that situation.
Hi Nami, a few things you can correct to help grow your new plants. 1) Make sure the pots drain correctly. Either by putting holes in the bottom or adding stones in the bottom so the roots are not in wet soil. 2) Break up the root ball of the new plants you are planting so the roots can grow properly. ❤️ your channel and content! 🤗
Love your channel, Naomi. I was going to say the same thing, break up the root ball when you take the plant out of the container, and let the roots fan out/separate before planting into your permanent container. Good luck and happy planting! ❤
Yeah, I did say to tease out the roots. We must have all shuddered at the same time as the plant was lifted out of the original pot and plonked into the new container. Gardeners love plants.💐
Like others have said, spread out those roots. And you need to give them the growing conditions they like. Mint - Full sun/partial shade moist, but well drained soil. Likes lots of room to grow. Chamomile- dry shade, no full sun, water only when dry and use fast draining soil. Rosemary - full sun, at least 6 hours a day, sandy/loamy/quick draining soil and room to grow as they get big. Doesn’t like a lot of humidity.
@@Are_We_Having_Tea that also depends on the plant. My camomile has mostly Sun and it’s going crazy! Sometimes they like what they aren’t supposed to or just don’t like where they are. All trial and error.
I have a little balcony as well and I am growing herbs, Japanese turnips (so good) and some flowers. This year's experiment is a potato that was growing legs, so I put it in a pot of dirt. It is a lovely plant and it's doing so well. I have no idea what kind of a harvest I'm going to get but it's fun watching it grow. You don't need a lot of space to enjoy gardening.

You should definitely put a little bistro table and chair on your balcony, imagine having breakfast there or enjoying your cup of tea or beer there. It's the best in summer, and you could keep an eye out on your herbs 🥰
Love the balcony picnic you created out there with the mat and lantern. I remember well the humidity of summer Japan. You are making the best of it with style and delicious food! I think you will be shopping for patio furniture next to dine on the balcony all summer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Nami, I really like your idea of having a simple picnic on the balcony! Sometimes it's the little things which make us happy 😊 Your way of living (even just live by yourself!) inspires me a lot 😇👍
The tomato in your recipe reminded me that cherry tomatoes are a great container plant for your balcony. They are the first to ripen and keep giving tomatoes until its too cold. They'd really bless you.
Your octopus sausages were just darling! I loved that you have discovered eating on your balcony. It might be fun to put up a bamboo screen or something and decorate with a string of little lights. I know it's not a common thing in Japan to eat on your deck, but now that you have discovered it, you can be a trendsetter!

Your balcony looked very cosy for your evening meal, and I hope your plants grow well. Amazing video Nami.....have a wonderful week. 😘 🎎
Remember if you plant in pots you need drainage holes and your pots need to be elevated off the ground an inch to let water drain through onto the ground. This means you will have healthy plants.

28:06 ahhhw those lights!! And yess, the balcony picnic is such a cute thing, indeed! Nowdays I wait for my new flat to get ready and move in, so I really love these video themes! Lovely as always.
Love the idea of eating outside. Maybe a small folding table and chair from IKEA? When not in use they would be easy to store. As always your food looks delicious. I've never heard of freezing an egg!
I live in the US and when I water my plants it is before noon time and with warm water. Stick a pencil end or pen end in soil of it comes out clean water. I hope this helps. 25:38
Hi Nami, I used to live on my own in a upstairs apartment with balcony, was not a big balcony but I bought a small folding table and chair from IKEA, used them a lot in summer. You should see if you can find something like that for yourself. 🙂.
One of my favorite gardening tools is a moisture meter. It tells how damp the soil is farther down in the pot and tells you what the meter should read for that plant. Ours has saved many plants! Thank you for another great video. I love seeing your projects at home and your trips out and about.
The video was so lovely. Don't forget to spread the roots of the plants when repotting. 🌱
I just learned that Rosemary would rather be misted on its leaves instead of being watered in the soil. Also it is better to underwater plants a little bit then to over water
Hello Nami. What an amazing and beautiful garden you have on the patio. Love the meal's you made for a hot day. You did not cook to much. Your home is amazingly beautiful. I love the area of Japan 🗾.
Ten hermosa semana 💕
2 from me today. I make pico; avocado, slightly mashed, onions, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper and tomatoes, spread it on toast or use as a dip for chips. Good stuff!
Hi Nami, I started with seeds for red peppers, cilantro, bok choy, cucumber and squash. I started this in April, once they were thriving, I prepared 3 areas in my yard and transplanted them. So I have 1 carrot doing ok, lots of squash, the bok choy is hanging in there, oh 1 tomato plant has small tomatoes, the rest are struggling. Everything thing else, either rabbits had as a meal or maybe the deer had a morning snack. Yesterday I went out water and my snapdragons had been a morning snack for some wandering deer. I think it’s great you try, just be aware due to summer heat or too much direct sun, not everything will survive, plus you had been sick, so watering may not have been a priority. Take care of your mental and physical health. I did like your small outdoors dining patio, very will done.
Hello, Nami-san! A very important thing to note is you are exposing very delicate herbs to direct sunlight, during summer weather, in a balcony surrounded by steal / metal structure which can double and even triple to heat going around them, hence not the appropriate environment for them to be at, otherwise their lifespan is severely compromised. Since now you're leaving in a larger house area that gets really good amount of daylight I believe they will thrive beautifully indoors during summer with some good ventilation provided, getting some soil watering early hours in the morning and water sprinkling on the leaves (boost of refreshment) around sunset time. Before I forget: I'd love to know the garden's book title you featured on today's video. Thank you so much for sharing today's video. 🙏🏽
The last recipe I will recreate (without egg) 😊 we also had 30C in northern Germany last week, of course, this is no comparison to Tokyo, where it gets much warmer. But we up here in the north are rather not used to it and we don't have air conditioning either and now the temperature has plummeted down to 20C, but we finally got some decent rain after almost two months! 😊You live in the new apartment for half a year now and it is noticeable with every video that you feel more and more comfortable there and that is nice to see 🙂
Hi Nami, I love all your videos so much. You commented on how some herbs have died and I noticed when you took the dead plant out that it was still in the original pot shape. Best practice when replanting is to make sure the original plant is not completely dried out. If it is then soak while in the old pot before replanting. Also it is best to break up the original root ball of that plant either with your fingers or even a knife if it is so dense. This encourages new growth. It helps to be sure the new soil is wet like a sandy dough when you squeeze it and it just sticks together like a crumb. Hope my explanations make sense. Happy growing!
Thanks for the wonderful summer video today, Nami! It's time for you to to buy a small café table and chair for your balcony! You can enjoy the space more and keep all of your beautiful new plants and herbs company. 🤗
Liked the toasted cheese bread with fresh corn. Will try it. Also enjoyed the meatballs/pasta at the end. Frozen eggs was different and interesting. Thank you enjoyed the vlog.
A serene balcony space, love that you eat there. Chairs and maybe a small table always is great on a balcony. You cook and eat so elegantly. You never drop any bits of food or sauce on your clothes which I think is astounding. I always manage to drop on my tops. Yes we all have questions to know more about you, not to pry but due to how much we love you Nami😍
Bonne semaine Nami. Amitiés de France 😘
You keep your plants under conditioner dry hot air that’s why they can’t stand nice. Keep them away from your conditioner’s back. You’ll see them in better condition I like your vlogs. I take some ideas for organizing things. Than you for your work. ❤
Your the first video I watch every Saturday 🙂 You need a little table that you easily fold or unfold to enjoy the balcony! Your pasta and meatball looked really good

Tea cup 🥰 4:24
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your support!💛
I just learned that Rosemary would rather be misted on its leaves instead of being watered in the soil. Also it is better to underwater plants a little bit then to over water
So glad you could enjoy eating on your balcony. I am on my balcony everyday it is not raining. 😅 I have seating as well as small garden in buckets.
Hello Nami. What an amazing and beautiful garden you have on the patio. Love the meal's you made for a hot day. You did not cook to much. Your home is amazingly beautiful. I love the area of Japan 🗾. Keep up the good work. Hope the plants grow with beauty this year. God Bless you Nami. Take care. Your friend Mari'a from the US. 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗💙💙💙❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗾🗾🗾🗾
The preparation and the cooking itself are astounding. That's what I wanna say here after clicking the LIKE button
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your support!💛 I hope you have a wonderful day!
When watering your plants wait till top soil is dry.Good luck.
You are a girl after my own heart. A good cold beer after gardening. 👍.... Take care
UA-cam videos are almost always edited, sometimes a lot. No one is perfect.
Nami

It’s always nice to see so many different languages in the comments because of all the translations ☺️🫶🏾
You keep your plants under conditioner dry hot air that’s why they can’t stand nice. Keep them away from your conditioner’s back. You’ll see them in better condition I like your vlogs. I take some ideas for organizing things. Than you for your work. ❤
They make scented Epsom salts and I too love them.
Your the first video I watch every Saturday 🙂 You need a little table that you easily fold or unfold to enjoy the balcony! Your pasta and meatball looked really good
