@@mirandaryan3362 Yes! I was thinking that Lulu may have some cat in her too.
Biting the sprayer: Must be thirsty! LOL!! She's SO darling. She speaks too! Nine years and 2 baths. She's winning the war against being clean.
🤣
😂
@@JenNadege😮😮😮😮😮❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😂😂😂LuLu must of been a stinky girl
Haha 😂😂❤
Sometimes when I'm having a bad brain day and it's hard to take a shower, I turn on Vanessa's content and tell myself that I'm a good girl, I just have trauma and am very anxious.
Then I care for my coat, skin, and nails, moving slowly but steadily, getting done what I can. Then I get a treat.
You know, this is genius
You're a good girl!
@@mena94x3 DO I GET TREATS
@@CWorgen5732 - Absolutely! Sit. Turn around. Shake! 🍎🥐🥒 Good girl!
This reminds me of a Tumblr post that I think about a lot where the poster says to try and imagine yourself like an animal in a zoo and then evaluate your needs. Are you getting proper nutrition and hydration, is your habitat maintained, are you getting enough enrichment, etc.?
Which I'm sure was just funny to a lot of people, but as someone who cares for animals for a living and as my life's passion.... It works for me when I'm really down. I do all of that stuff for my pets and LOTS of other people's pets, but hesitate when it comes to caring for myself, so sort of pretending to see myself as a really high maintenance dog or a tiger in a zoo seems to make self care a little more palatable to my brain. 😅
(Speaking of, I do really need to clean my enclosure......)
And by the way, you're doing a great job and deserve those treats! 👍
Awe, she is like, hold my paw ma'am, I need support lmao
The paw kills me every time. 😂
Hope her paws not hurt or sensitive to a previous injury?
@@Zirin-md7pg The paw lifting is one of the calming signals dogs use to communicate uncertainty/discomfort. Naturally, each dog is an individual. Not all dogs use all signals, and some dogs are better at the body language than others. But just observe friendly dogs meeting other dogs - some of them will lift one of their front paws. Other such signals include things like quick licking of lips, turning the head sideways, the whole dog turning sideways or even facing away from the other dog, laying down on their belly, pointedly looking away from the other dogs eyes, "pointless" sniffing of the ground, marking/peeing without actually needing to pee etc. Essentially a dog using these signals is trying to defuse a situation it finds awkward or stressful. If these signals fail to solve the problem, the dog moves on to threats (barking, growling, staring, rigid posture, ears laid back...) and if even those don't work, it will eventually move on to aggression.
@@Zirin-md7pg in this context where she's terribly stressed, the paw thing likely means 'please give me space and dont touch me here' which makes sense because this was in response to being touched around her head/chest area - the same spots where she bit the equipment, if it got too close to these areas. it could be a current or previous injury or illness like you said. i think most dogs don't like objects or hands being waved around or getting into their space around their heads so i get the impression it's something she is unfamiliar/scared of. it seems no one has done counter conditioning with Lulu :/
@@ktkchu well thank you for explaining that so perfectly(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
She wanted to hold your hand lol ❤
She's left-pawed, too. Adorable.
YES I WANTED TO CRY, she's such a good girl
Lulu was simply showing off how clean and beautiful her paws were. She was very good despite her fears and showing stress.❤
@@vaw796 I wonder if she is kept in the bathroom with the owners while they blow-dry there hair, if that will help show her that the hand dryer is safe...
She seemed to be triggered by seeing the equipment pointed at her... The happy hoody over her eyes certainly seemed to help!
Exactly!
Lulu has my heart. She's like a fuzzy snapping turtle for the bath haha.
Lulu was very good with the human touch, the evil nozzle and blow dryer she wanted to attack. She turned out beautiful!
For her breed, being a rescue, and being afraid...She did way better than I thought she would.
She looks beautiful at the end w the wind blowing her hair back ❤
She’s so quick with the bite! There’s such little warning too
Muzzle goes on.
Lulu: "I DID NOT APPROVE OF THIS."
She is just like me. Please hold my hand, I need emotional support
She is a spicy little nugget. She looked awesome by the time you were done. Hope her owners were happy with how she looked.
She's so snuggly looking! 😍
Edit to say snuggly AND spicy! 😳🌶
*hands paw*
"Thank you"
Lulu: absolutely not i want help OUT not thank yous ahahha
Lulu is a sweet ball of fluff who doesn't like the spray nozzle or hand-held dryer. She's so adorable🥰
Lulu says"I'm made of sugar, I'm melting!!"
I love when the dogs do the " excuse me ma'am, cease and desist" with giving you their paw 😂
She's a cutie. She didn't do too bad considering the last groomer had to send her packing 😂
You did a great job! She’s beautiful! Man, that’s a thick coat! I bet her owners were so pleased to see their spicy habanero so fluffy and shiny! You always have a calming spirit and voice with your clients, especially the feisty sassy ones!
When wet she looks so much smaller and that bark and whining is actually so cute … like no way lulu you could be scary being so cute 😭😭
Lulu giving an excellent demonstration of the fawn response to fear when offering her paw (some of the time, at least, others looked like they were more about just moving her paws/legs away from the tools). It's a stinking cute move that's probably gotten her lots of positive attention in the past.
She's a beautiful girl and all things considered she did pretty good with your calming effects and reassurances.😊
Lulu, the dog with a kitty timer 😂
The way you trusted her not to bite you! After seeing her jaws on the nozzle I would have been terrified!
Lou Lou is cute. I've never heard of a Tibetan Spaniel before, a very pretty breed.
You should Google images. They are very cute, and not usually quite that furry.
She is such a pretty lady. I am sure she is only aggressive out of fear. Gaining her trust is key. When she knows she is safe I think she will be more mild. ❤
She was stinker when it came to the bath and blow dry for sure. She's pretty adorable, though!
Our 17 year old Tibetan Spaniel rescue went to doggie heaven a year ago. Your video reminds me of how he used to bolt out of the groomer's shop the minute he saw me. Scruffy was a very social, jump-in-your-lap kinda guy. There is a huge gap in our family now that he's gone.
Tibetans are wonder little dogs.

What a beautiful doggo Lulu is. Never heard or seen the Tibetan Spaniel breed before. It seems they love to bite on shower equipment. Thanks Vanessa and staff at Girl With The Dogs for the work you do. You're awesome. 😁 🇨🇦
They're one of the small dogs that aren't too hard to find in my country (NZ). Normally they have a smoosh face like pugs etc so whatever she's mixed with has contributed to that long muzzle that makes her probably a lot healthier than purebreds. They can be pretty stubborn and independent at times but they're also really sensitive and shy of strangers if you don't socialise them and can be kind of cat-like even to the point of liking to climb up on things like windowsills! It's one of the breeds that I could plausibly handle the exercise needs of but I don't think I'd be good at the socialising and grooming requirements plus I don't like short muzzles for health reasons so they're fairly low on my list.
@@littlebear274 Dogs who don't have smushfaces are DEFINITELY a lot healthier!
who knows "behavioral issues" stands for " I really just wanted to get it done FAST I hurt her and then she was scared after that" thats for me sometimes what it could be FOR SURE
bc my lord shes an absolute sweetheart, id check her last groomer if i were the owner
Absolutely this. When I first rescued my dog, we took her to a groomer and mentioned she had anxiety and it was her first groom. My dog is only 43 lbs and they spent 3.5 hours on her because they did everything so slowly, with lots of pets and baby talk, and lots of breaks. THAT is a good groomer! Doing it fast just doesn't always work.
That I think is one of the reasons why many of small dogs (yorkies, chihuahuas,...) have such neurotic behavior. Their owners often simply overpowered them when they needed something (need to take out that small stick or piece of grass stuck deeply in your coat? I simply take you into my hands, forcefuly hold you and do it quickly and forcefuly, despite your protests - which I consider cute anyway), so no wonder they often act like this.
I mean, you wouldn´t do this with german shephard or golden retriever - there you would pay attention to what your dog does (because let´s be honest, growling kinda IS more menacing coming from GS then from chihuahua), do it more slowly, maybe with help of treats or things to distract the dog, at least partialy. Also you wouldn´t be restricting his freedom of movement, at least not to as much degree.
Yeah, idk what her experiences have been with other groomers or people before her current owners, but this poor baby is reacting like she was absolutely traumatized at one point 😢
Ah! I've been waiting to see a Tibby. We love our little lion! He's also a mix of some sort, but his traits are 100% Tibby. ❤
Another MASTERPIECE BY Vanessa and what an adorable baby!!❤❤
Bless you, Lulu really needed you.
Bless her ❤❤❤
I love watching your vidoes, they always make me happy❤ I enjoy these videos every day, seeing the notification always makes me smile ❤❤
Very frickin cute! That coat makes me think there's some sheltie in her DNA
She is so cute! 🥰 She really tried to be good. ❤
She looks great. Well done 😊
She looks so innocent soaking wet 😂 aaww she did so well with the hand drier.
What a pretty girl 🥰
You're always entertaining! Was so happy when I turned on UA-cam this morning and saw a new video, you're my favorite reviewer. I need to email you😊❤
Putting that little paw up was too cute
She is very adorable looking.
She looks so sweet but those teefs are so vicious!! She is keeping you on your toes! Glad you could finish her 💖💖
We've met Mayo's match 😅
Suchva sweet pup overall.. I wonder if she will get better at it if she comes to you more, considering this is only her second groom.
I like the spicy dogs and cats . I like your interactions with them 😊
Lulu's coat is so beautiful! I'm sure her family where very happy with her groom results.
it's clear that Vanessa was MEANT for this job, i love how it's obvious that she loves animals, and treats them like her babies 😘
This dog is gorgeous ❤
lulu looks so cute!!
I love how you talk to your furry clients, telling them it’s okay, and they’re good. Some of the groomers I see on UA-cam are so cold and uncaring. Bravo 👏🏻 to you Vanessa! 🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I used to follow one who only really talked to them to correct them. Said it just distracted them to talk to them. I no longer follow her, wouldn't drive across several states to have he groom my Jack Russell. I would take him to Vanessa if she wasn't clear up in Canada lol
They said they don't have time to coo and talk to the dog. It gets in the way of the grooming. Vanessa loves animals and it shows. If you don't like animals, don't be a groomer.
She's the only groomer I will ever watch.
Love that you are so flexible for working with the different tempriments of the dogs or cats coming to you!
Aww. Lulu. This episode proves that if you use all the tools at your disposal, ultimately with patience, you can perform a successful groom. Especially in the hands of an experienced groomer like Vanessa. Thank you for sharing this.
I love seeing how you accommodate their preferences even when it's not the most convenient for you. ❤❤❤
Aww. She may have left teeth marks on your sprayer nozzle but she gets good boy points for never trying to go for you.
What an absolute cutie pie!
😂 “Lulu, is this necessary?”
I think she’s ghost pepper spicy.
9:44 😂 its like suddenly she becomes a beast ❤
You need to get a choir of huskies together and have Lulu as the guest soloist. She is one spoiled pup. Very smart and knows how to get her own way.
In which case, I can just envision "Lulu and the Huskies" singing the following on their "set list":
1) "Prima Donna" -- from "Phantom of the Opera" (because Huskies themselves love a good drama!)
2) "Seven Nation Army" -- because certain dogs feel they have to fight the grooming equipment: "I'm gonna bite em all! A seven nation army couldn't hold me back!"
3) A canine version of Aretha Franklin's "R-E-S-P-E-C-T"
She's a beautiful dog. She has a stunning coat.
Lulu is giving a new definition to “hand wash only!”
She looks great after her spa day! (I know it's still frustrating to deal with, but I'm so glad Lulu bit the nozzle and never bit you, Vanessa). Poor Lulu, you were so nervous! But overall you did pretty good. 🙂❤🙂
Thank you yet again, Vanessa.
You enjoyed it right?
I’m in awe of this video.
She looks like a red panda and has the disposition of a honey badger. 😂
😂 she is adorable
has anyone seen Gilmore girls? her cries remind me of a scene when the girls were watching something where one character was trying to sing, and another character in what they were watching was simultaneously talking
the dog's cries sounded like the attempt at singing
Beautiful dog 😍
She is beautiful, what a precious face
To be fair, she kept trying to politely ask for it to stop woth her gentle pawing.
Such a beautiful dog! Nice job Vanessa!❤
She looks like a shrunken Caucasian Shepard. Sooo cute
You did an amazing job! Such patience
So much floof! Her 'finished' photo makes her look as soft as the clouds; you just want to face-snorgle that belleh!
Lulu went lolo for that water nozzle.
I think she did pretty good! You did even better!
She only seemed to be triggered by loud noises. The crate dryer doesn't make a noise itself, yet the nozzle and handheld dryer did. Just an observation.
LuLu sounded like a Car revving the engine at the 10 minute mark.
my son has a tibetan spaniel / pug mix so she’s a pug with a snout ( less brachiocephalic) and she sheds like a furnado even when she’s not being groomed. named pickles and she’s a wonderful companion to my grandsons.
This shows your versatility as a groomer , able to modify the groom to suit the dogs temperament
This is definitely a Tibetan Spaniel mixed with a larger dog...Some kind of Terrier or small Shepherd possibly...
Something with a long muzzle, that's for sure. Shepherd is a strong option, maybe even collie or sheltie which would strengthen the genes for all that fur too.
Beautiful Job 🙂
That was a very majestic after picture!
Omgosh those grinch feet! 😭❤️ she's so precious
she reminds me of that video of that papillon getting out of their cone at the vet and biting the doctor 😭
Shes a beautiful dog no matter what kind she is
Very very pretty 😊😍 😊😂❤😢😅
Well her end made it all worth it! She looks amazing
I'm vaguely amused that both you and Lulu have similar hair colors.
Also you did a great job on her!
For some reason, the very last close-up of her face when she was roaming the yard just made me think of a little tanuki, one of the Japanese raccoon-dogs that are legendarily prone to mischief and mayhem. Seems about on the money...small, fluffy, prone to mayhem.
She keeps putting up that fancy paw
My first thought was, "Diva"!
I love how even with the belly band she found a way to still sit down. Lol
Yeah. Her fur looks Tibetan spaniel. I have one and mine looks different. This dogs fur is truly Tibetan.
She was trusting you bit by bit. Well done.
Lulu is adorable! But wow, those fluffy Grinchy feet before you tamed them...😆
She is such a cutie ❤
it's interesting that she was so patient for brushing, even when it was pulling at her skin, but would have absolutely NONE of the sprayer or blow dryer
Maybe a bad experience with it, perhaps at previous groomer?
My son has a speech delay and we were watching this, when you got lulu out of the drying crate he screams HI LULU! ah
She's absolutely adorable, even soaking wet.
What a fluffy cutie!
9:48 XD lulu: "it absolutely is!!!!" chomp
