True but this is the type of event that every filmmaker dreams of catching. Well composed shots with great light and motion are amazing but the subject and emotional content will always be king.
@@NewYorkCityDroneFilmFestival Well should the content be king ? It's an issue throughout the TV documentary field too. A poorly made doc but with an emotional story will often win the main prize over brilliantly created docs with luke warm stories. Personally I feel this is missing the point of documentary film making. The upshot is: the content should not be such an overwhelming king.
@@MikeKleinsteuber Of course content should be king. Who cares if a boring or meaningless topic is shot beautifully? If you just care about gear and how it's used shoot camera demos not documentaries. Gear, in my opinion, is there to shoot stories that are compelling and meaningful... not just shoot pretty images. You said "A poorly made doc but with an emotional story will often win the main prize over brilliantly created docs with luke warm stories. @@NewYorkCityDroneFilmFestival It's a subtle blend of content that is reflected in the form too. And I'm not just talking about pretty shots. There's a lot more involved than 'pretty shots'. Very often in fact the 'best' shots are 'ugly' ones. The problem is that jurors and reviewers are often overawed by 'emotional' and, these days, 'woke' stories and completely forget that a good film maker blends pictures, editing, sound in such a way as to bring the greatest from the actual story. I've seen a great number a meh docs that have an easy emotional tug on the jurors win over less emotional stories that are made into fantastic and involving docs by really creative film makers.
Increible!!!! Un aplauso por los que dan sus vidas por otros!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
