I come here to specifically watch your content.
I didn't finish the watcher video but that comment section was rough, and I'm absolutely fascinated by the patreon situation
I really enjoyed the fallout series and am excited for a season 2.
The fallout series is good. I was expecting it to not be, but it was good. I disliked Bethesda's take on fallout because it seemed to lack any perspective or anything close to decent storytelling, unlike 1 & 2 (and New Vegas). I posted once before that I didn't like Bethesda's Fallout because of what it did to the concept, but that had more to do with the fact that they took things that had purpose in originally and made them shallow (it is in fact still in canon with the original games--but that doesn't make it good).
Amazon's Fallout, despite taking cues from Bethesda, doesn't have that problem. I don't even care if it does or doesn't break continuity or make New Vegas non-canon. Arguing about canon is boring. A story has value regardless of whether it is "in canon", and unless Bethesda or Amazon show up to my house and wipe my memory they can't take previous story away from me, so they can't "ruin" anything no matter what they do. Honestly, the stuff they did try to shoehorn in from Fallout 1 was kinda tacked on and superfluous (the water chip subplot that goes nowhere).
I thought the change that they did make that is upsetting a lot of people had a purpose. If Fallout 1 was showing humanity could have a future if it learned to avoid the mistakes of the past, then Amazon's Fallout is asking the question "What *is* stopping us from learning that?" I wouldn't waste time hem-hawing over whether or not something is canon. That's a relatively recent obsession and it's awfully trivial.
Fallout is good. It uses the elements of what it is adapting to make something engaging and it has a perspective on the material. I never wanted anything more than that from anyone taking up the concept.
I don't think I'm particularly protective of any story/media really. I just love getting new content to watch and if it's not totally faithful to the original, I treat it like fanfiction: not official, but a potentially fun time. And I totally get that one form of media cannot translate 100% to another perfectly.
I LOVED the Fallout series.
I don’t really feel like there is one franchise I’m super protective of. Most of my big ones like Marvel & Transformers have constantly been reinvented and reinterpreted in different ways over the years. As a result, I’m pretty open to giving new adaptations of most things I like a fair shot.
15:00. About a month ago now I went to watch someone on Prime and got an ad. Immediately opened a new tab in my browser to google all the hoops I had to jump through and cancelled Prime right then and there. I refuse to pay to be advertised to. (but hearing all the good things about the fallout show is really testing my willpower..)
I use Stremio with the Torrentio add-on and enjoy everything I want without ads 👍
I have Renneè Rapp instead of Chappel Roan, and I am not upset, but it would be better if I had both in my feed
I'd like people to stop asking David, Gillian, and Chris Carter every few years about bring back the X-Files. The last season was meh. Leave the characters alone.
Has Anthony ever watched Wonder Egg Priority? Feel like it would be up his street.
0:00 let him wear the damn hat
I gotta big disagree on the She-Hulk point of her not acknowledging the MCU. She literally breaks out of her show through the Disney plus menu into the real world and talks to "Kevin" and a writers room. I don't mind 4th wall characters being around, but keep it to one line maximum only outside of your own show/movie
The franchises I'm somewhat protective of are Full metal Alchemist and Dragon Ball Z, mainly because they both did live action adaptions and they were horrible, so I've lost all faith
