TOTALLY AGREE Mikal (linebacker) was not only the most important recruit last weekend...but maybe overall for the very reasons you expressed.
I opined this on Ryan's board & got down voted slightly.
But you guys nailed it.
If we are going to have ANY chance of locking down TOP SoCal players (now & in the near future)...we have to get guys like this.
Otherwise....just forget SoCal recruits & recruit nationally & keep hitting the Portal.

erik is right, our poor season last year is being reflective in our positional rankings for 2024 and rightly so. why would we proclaim to be top 10 in anything, we’re maybe top 20 as a team, so no we don’t have any positional groups worthy to be above 10. it is what it is, SC took a huge step back last season, it’s a steep hill back to relevancy being in this new juggernaut of a conference 😞
Here we go!!! This is my favorite podcast out there. Love all of these guys. Especially comments like “I want USC to get fifty million dollars to pay its players and the rest of the schools get no more than five-that’s what I want.” So you can also certainly appreciate the honesty in the Huddle!
On another note, I like to think of myself as a positive person. But I have to say it, “Purdue Pete” is just super creepy. Those eyes…something is just completely wrong with this “human” mascot.

The biggest issue with JuJu is whether he feels USC has a QB that will be ahead of him and he wont get playing time early. If Moss plays this year and Maeva is coming along well, then JuJu might see he wouldnt play for 2 or more seasons. I think the big issue is if Maeva is coming along nice and looks like he could play two years after this year, that would make JuJu say ByeBye.
Maybe the hidden recruits just want to take their official visits without a public commitment.

Is this true? In the bowl game we had the same defensive players we had during the regular season but no Coach Gringe. Those players played so much better in that game so why should they not be graded higher than they are?

Agree 100%. I would add that the offense played better in the Holiday Bowl and honestly, I think Moss will actually out-produce Caleb (although not be nearly as exciting).
USC is HIGHLY underrated by everyone. O-line much better, QB more consistent, receivers are the best in the country, better TE and the defense is better everywhere. If the o-line is really good, then combining a solid run game with the best pass offense will yield big points. Dont ever take the foot off the gas on offense. Combine that with a high risk defense that aims for 3 and out , negative plays and turnovers.
If you have a great offense, then you can take risks on defense.

Recruits are visiting any good school that will pay them for visiting. That’s why they are generally coy about it. JUJU is pretty open with it, so if you want to have him visit, it’s going to cost you.✌️

Are we going to go 12-0? No. Are we going to go 11-1? No. Are we going to go 10-2? No. Are we going to go 9-3? No. Are we going to go 8-4? Doubtful. Are we going to go 7-5? Probably. Are we going to go 6-6? It could happen.
Also, really don't want to pay 17 yr olds to play only to have them transfer year 2!! Hey! Comments on Reggie saying SC getting the '04 natty and games back??
