West Ham should have never left the Boleyn. The place was historic. They should have looked at every avenue for an expansion. I'm sure they could have pushed the capacity to 45k.
Newmham keep blocking any development after they got the Olympics because they and the government need us in the Olympic stadium so it did not become a white Elephant that is the real reason we are there and that why we got deal we have
the ground was iconic, but the area had turned into a cess pit, better off in the London stadium, the bedding in period is over and it now feels like home. but you still got the memories
This is heartbreaking for me as a Manchester City fan, gives me the emotional memory of leaving Maine Road. Funnily enough last time I went to the Boleyn in the FA Cup, we had that entire end and I was pretty much where this was filmed from. RIP The Boleyn and Maine Road.
I've been a Hammer since '66, thrown away a few scarfs over the years but always got a new one after the next win, won't be throwing one away for a while by the way things are looking at the moment.....COME ON YOU IRONS DO IT FOR NOBLE
Birmingham fans one of the best that's been to the new stadium. Apart from the odd coin and whiskey bottle coming our way but must admit you was class from the start
we should never have left this fantastic ground. I have been a hammers fan for over35 years and coming from ireland where its all Liverpool man u plastic fans . We are proper hammers till we die.coyi
Wow, that is a real celebration... I only can imagine how nice it was going to Boleyn, I never left Brazil so I really have no idea, but watching the video it seems like it was almost a magic atmosphere... COYI
England have the best fans in my opinion. They support their team with a soul. I have visited Brasil before and seen Corinthians and Palmeiras, and I loved those atmospheres as well. Two great futebol nations.
What a chant, and what a historical moment to have recorded so well, what type of mic is that that didn’t over saturate with all the noise! Respect from an arsenal fan
@TheMetalMouse it wasn't about beating united, it was the simple fact is, West ham fans have a deep connection with that ground, because alot have actually been to a game or 2 unlike you! We don't get excited about beating you, you'll see that in 8 hours time.
Upton park under the lights fuck me, one of the best atmospheres around. I’m a City fan but I’d love West Ham to one day convert the London Stadium into something thats fit for football!
Lived in London a good few years ago. Visited this ground and many of the rest of them as I picked and chose games to go to. This was BY FAR the most atmospheric ground in the city. White Hart Lane was great also but this was better and the fans were a great laugh. It is a shame WHU left here. Football is trading real connection with fans for money and swish stadiums. Some stadiums are great because they aren't shiny and comfortable. Extensions to stadiums retain their heart and soul, moving to ones like the Olympic stadium rip the heart out. In the last few years English Football has lost Upton Park, White Hart Lane and is soon to loose Goodison. These are cathedrals of English football in my view.
I sold flowers outside ground. The landlord let me lock em up in celler. My grandparents lived three blocks away. Went to all home games and left early sometimes to miss the late goals. Especially from Ian Wright so famous for that. Sold out of flowers amd went home. Now that is a proper east end boy story.
west ham are a grat club, the year we won the title at the Etihad shared a cab with two west ham fans to the ground singing bubbles all the way their,,me to lol
fuck, i hate to sound like a broken record player but we should never have left. The new place, im so far away i dont feel like im affecting anything. They seriously need to consider knocking it down one day an rebuilding it so we can get that intimacy of the Boleyn back.
If we had not left then we would been relegated by now and not in great financial state . the true fact of the matter is we could rebuild the east stand the Upton Park area could lot handle a 50,000 plus stadium with out major investment. and in fact we are now closer to our historical begging's in The Limmo Peninsula is an area of Canning Town in the London Borough of Newham yes had a lot great days there but life moves and if a club is to complete in the premier league a club going need owners with big pockets and 50,000 stadium
COYI! West Ham Supporter from Nuremberg, Germany! Wish I could've been in Upton Park one time. Went to a West Ham united match against Man City in 2018 in the Olympic stadium, but the atmosphere was surely not the same.
Still miss this, still hear and feel the roar on match day. Still taste the beer in the Boleyn. Upton Park was the best, hands down. No matter who rolled up especially under the lights, we had a chance. No PL team like visiting. Not many away fans either 🥴😆⚒️💙 LLTB
Is there anything left of the old Upton park ground ? Or are there 1 bedroom flats there now ? I'm from up north but I'm going to London for 3 nights in November and I'm thinking of jumping on the tube trains and trying to visit all the London league clubs grounds in 1 day, I'm not going to include Watford in that because Watford isn't London, is Stratford the closest tube station to the London stadium ?
Gooner here but still hate the Emirates! I still dream of Highbury and being on the clock, peanuts! peanuts!.. I get your pain irons. Effing commercialism!
Magnificent ground that. Should've just renovated the smaller stand. Olympic stadium is complete trash for football, even if the government gave it them on the cheap.
Upton Park was a much better place to watch football. The new place is more comfortable for those of us who need more space, but otherwise it's pretty shit.

Millllllllllllwall😂
