Yes! This is the version! That cut out verse makes this song complete and defines it as one of the greatest love songs of our time. I mean come on!
THIS, my dear world, THIS is what an audio/lyrical/musical/vocal masterpiece sounds like. Jim Steinman will forever be missed in my ears that 's an understatement. I am still in awe of his lyrics and composition style (specifically VOCAL Arrangements) and he became my hero 45 years ago when I was only 10 and heard Bat Out Of Hell. Everyone should admire his art. May he RIP and thank you Bonnie, for one of my favorite songs to listen to over and over and over again.

My mom passed away at age 57 in 1995. I remember this was her favorite song. I remember as child Holy Spirit was heavy on my heart. She would tuck me in bed at night and when she would leave the room I would cry seeing visions of the end of the World and was shown this would take place in my 50's. I would pray silently that she and my dad would not be around for the end days as Jesus warned us we are here. I would look out my bedroom window and see a cross light up across the street at the church. It was not until I turned 50 years old that Holy Spirit brought this to my remembrance about my youth. I knew when my dad died at the cusp of February 2020 this was the start of the end and boom COVID /Lockdown began.............. Jesus has prepared his remnant/Elect/Saints/Children of God. We need JESUS he is holding us forever.

Jim died last year he helped with some great songs like the late Meat Loafs song Bat Out Of Hell and Celine Dion it's all coming back to me now, Boyzone No matter what the groups first and only single to be popular and chart in US all these to me are full of powerful ballads and emotional to the Heart and great sing along. Heard this song was about Vampires or something Bonnie Tyler is Welsh and had throat nodules removed this is probably why her voice is so raspy

@@josephmarimbet7289 ye but if u were around when these tracks came out, you probably have gold memories attached to them too. Especially when it's been 20 years or more. Every day life moves one day forward and there's no way to actually ever go back again. But when your pops is gone gone, and you get in those feels for a minute, you remember a song that was on when, for example, if he would always try to give dad advice on everything you did, but then the moment happened, and u could just hear in his voice, see on his face, the you earned his respect on a level where he realized you stepped up to a new level above his knowledge or skill. A moment like that, when your mentor, your role model, just gave you the nod that said "now you're the mentor. Now you're my role model." you might remember every detail of those few seconds or minutes. And that song you remember hearing in the background at that exact moment, you gotta look it up and play it and hear it and feel it, because you can close your eyes through the whole song and for those couple minutes, it feels like you're back at that exact moment again but on pause. And in an hour or two your mind will be right back in reality, but for that moment it is the closest you can feel to having that moment again.

The 80s was a decade of passion and some of the most unique voices in music history emerged in this decade. Especially in rock and roll. I think the 80s was a decade thats full of life and vitality. Too bad i missed it. But this song will always preserve the spirit of that decade and I'm thankful I experience the decade through this song. Like time travel.
