This is great to see. When we were at the Addo National Park ( correct name) in 2007 the Lions had just been relocated from the Kruger National Park. The pride then numbered 9. Two adult males, two females and the balance were the cubs. So these males are from those cubs, either 1st or 2nd generation. Thank you so much for sharing this video. They could be bachelor males as it is unusual for pride males to do the hunting.
I LOVE the people that filmed this video, they werent loud and annoying, there are way too many videos that have been ruined because of the people taping them, this was an amazing clip to watch! Thank you for not driving me insane and entertaining me!! AWESOME!!
People need to shut up with "oh my god." If it bothers them so much then stay away. That's life in the jungle. Everything gets eaten one way or another. Nothing goes to waste unless man intervenes.
They are not saying “omg” because it bothers them, they are saying it because it’s a shocking sight to see. Yes it is nature, yes it is part of the natural order, it doesn’t mean it can’t be shocking, those things are not mutually exclusive, something can be natural and beautiful and at the same time shocking to see, especially to people who’s never seen it in person before, seeing something in person is way different than seeing it on TV, so of course they are shocked. I’ve seen people say “omg” to nascar races and NFL tackles and MMA fights etc, it’s a natural reaction when you see something extraordinary and graphic and violent for the first time in person
Lions rarely kill two buffaloes at the same time as the flesh from one buffalo is just enough for them at the given time. After all they kill for a reason, to get over the hunger and for their own survival.
@@faraz-i3x their instinct is to self-preserve. if they can afford to not have themselves injured, then they will not risk it it does depend though, some herds are more confident than others

The only 2 land carnivores that would kill a male lion are a polar bear look at how big a male polar bear is to any big cat and they have been know to kill a adult male walrus with one slap to the head and a Sigerian tiger also I think a huge male crocodile would in a one on one battle but other than that really nothing could buy that's just my opinion
The people filming can talk as much as they want , I'm just glad people post their videos so others can watch wild animals in the wild doing what wild animals do !
Ever see the video on youtube where one male lion attacks an entire herd of these buffalo head on while they are facing him and the lion actually runs along with the herd and dives underneath one of the buffalo and grabs it by the neck with his teeth and hangs on to it's throat until he kills it. It is unbelievable. Talk about courage and skill.
I didn't see that one, but I seen a male lion gored to death by a male buffalo, great sight, imagine what a rhino would do if those pussycats we're very close to him or her, I like the one with the hippo chomping a lion by the head, awesome......
i just don't understand after thousands of years, why the herd just doesn't all turn around and stampede their asses. Didn't they watch the lion king...geeez.
@KeySour They will sometimes fight a lion when one of theirs is taken. That's why they went back to challenge the lion, but then got scared of the 2nd one. There are other videos where they've rescued one of their own. They seem to have trouble forming a quarum about what exactly to do, but "run" usually wins out.
I've never seen lions go after 2 separate prey items in one hunt, not including mother/calf, where both get taken at the same time. The first lion already had it's prey subdued. Unless the second lion was a rogue lion, not part of the pride and trying to grab a meal without fighitng for it, he and the rest of the pride would normally just close in on the doomed prey item instead of chasing after the rest of the herd. It's a good thing though. 2 prey items will feed them and the rest of the herd much more than 1.
@spahnman Male lions in a pride don't generally hunt. But solitary or unattached male lions hunt all the time, not usually as successfully as this though.
Mary, it's a privilege to be able to witness lions in Africa. And any other threatened species. You should have given your ticket, accommodation etc to someone who would have appreciated it. You can go to the opera
Is it just me or do these buffalo look a little different? Their horns in particular look way different. Their horns look taller and more thin than normal
These appear to be more like cattle and don't have the natural instinct of the buffalo. Had these been buffalo these lions would have took a serious beating.
That's great whatever works for you and makes you happy :). I just strongly feel that if we all participate and unite together we can make drastic changes to our lifestyles and it has worked before. If we all just sit around and do nothing we will just get stepped over. The thing you just said is excellent and as i mentioned is a small but good thing and makes a difference but we need to work together to make a huge difference and this planet and the rest of the living creatures depend on it.
@TA152H01 But remember the battle at Kruger and other vids where the buffalo go on the offensive against the lions with great success. I've never seen a vid where buffs take the offensive against lions and lose. The buffs in this vid simply werent as smart and courageous as the ones in battle at kruger.
well then you've got to remind yourself that even when people are panic'd we behave much differently and may do stupid things. in the buffalo's case instead of ganging up on the lion they ran away instead.
That's a pretty weak herd of Buffalo. The lions are doing stronger herds of Buffalo a big favor. The lions hardly had to put any effort into catching a meal.
@hockeypark i'm not disagreeing with you but i believe tigers are just more naturally aggressive than lions are and that's why they have an advantage. not saying lions aren't aggressive just tigers have more of it. and a lion could kill a tiger it's not like it's impossible
If buffalos weren't so dumb and acted as groups in case one of them got attacked, many predatorial animals (lions, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards) would've become extinct long ago. It's just how it's gotta be for the balance of nature to remain uninterrupted.
Wow, this is amazing, lions are very powerful and really only male lions who have a pride don't worry about much hunting. Most are like these guys, able to take a buffalo down by themselves! They are beautiful males too, and huge!
These are 2 good kills of the male lions. Are the two male lions possible 2 brothers? I don;t know if 2 male lions hunt at the same time. Buffol's sometimes come back for the buffalo the lions caught. I think that's cool. Try to save the other buffalo? Buffalo's are tough. But these two were young animals.
It looks like a young herd of buffalo and they are not just watching the lions eat the buffalo. If it was a larger herd with a solid leader the buffalo would have chased off the lions. These buffalo are unsure if they want to act or not because of possible injury they may obtain from the lions. In the wild there is no magical animal hospital where they can go to get patched up. One injury could end their life.
Speed and power perfect combimation really powerful hunters 😍😍😍

Why this buffallo horn r different.
They're not Buffalo, their a semi domesticated herd of Cattle. A lot smaller than the Cape, but just as tastie for a Lion, and easier to catch.
No, those are gaur; they're a lot bigger than regular cape buffalo. Lion is strong, that's why they finish them so quick!

and the lion is trying to win the poor calf by fatigue.hahaha
