That was actually more the LOLDrg meme. Played as a DRG main in FF11 from launch in the US until around 2013 when I quit for the most part. DRG got an extremely unfair reputation in 11 cuz of a combination of a couple of different factors. First was DRG was extremely overpowered when it first came out because Penta Thrust had pretty broken TP return allowing DRGs to just near infinitely use it without much waiting. Unfortunately, that got nerfed into the ground which took away a lot of DRG's popularity. Penta Thrust was still a really good multi-hit but it wasn't broken anymore. Next, came the RMTs. DRG was an incredibly popular RMT gilseller job choice because it had good solo ability and it didn't require a large money investment like some other good solo jobs like BST or THF or RDM. So DRG got a LOT of hate because people constantly saw DRG RMTs running around camping NMs and farming mobs. Then there was the fact that DRG wasn't BLM or SAM, basically the only two meta jobs for DPS in endgame for FF11 unless you were a cool kid like me. DRK was occasionally a popular choice too. So all these factors basically culminated in DRG getting a ton of unfair hate and the LOLDrg meme was basically born as a way for people to show their dislike for the job in a quick way. As a DRG main for 9 years or so, it got REALLY old after a while. Unfortunately, that meme migrated over to FF14 since a good chunk of FF14 players also played 11 and some DRGs out there had a tendency not to know how to use Elusive Jump effectively so the LOLDrg meme basically got morphed into DRG Floor Tank. Even as a main DRG to this day in 14, it's such a tired out joke -_-.
@@jeremycampbell4021 Wow I have never heard about any of this before, thank you very much for sharing!! ♥ I do know of the "floor tank" meme, but I hadn't heard about any of those things from FF11. I guess there are just a few things that never change- Lalafell players could probably attest to that.. The community sure has some jokes they just keep on using, for better or for worse :P
Aye the floor tank thing mostly came from the early days when there was a pretty heavy animation lock on jumps. Now if a drg dies it's _entirely_ their fault and not that we healers have had our brains melt out of our ears from only having one button to press for most of the fight.
Ninja is SO confusing to me, I respect it (。T ω T。) Also good news if you're playing free trial and haven't seen today's Fan Fest announcements yet, they are expanding it to include Stormblood!! Chances are you'll be able play Samurai then as well c:
9:30 fun fact the dead dragoon joke first started in final fantasy 11
I didn't actually know that! D:
Thank you for sharing your wisdom 🌸

@@jeremycampbell4021 the funny part is it is entirely server based now. Over on goblin I don't see anything about 'Floor Tank' whatsoever.

Play dragoon to be a badass pole dancer.
I actually have DRG on 90 as one of the very few DPS classes because of that exact reason (´。• ᵕ •。`)b
