Dubov has been one of the only current top players to give me hope that there is still something to be found for the case of romantic chess. Enough with the boring theoretical lines that are 20+ moves deep... just look at this! Look at the use of raw intuition and sacrificing a pawn not even 10 moves into the game for active piece play. Truly a modern day, living inspiration for attacking and creative minds over the 64 squares.
Go see Wei Yi and Mamedyarov 's games. They're not as solid as Magnus, but at least the games they win are not boring rook endgames with slight advantage
@iamh95 Not according to Alpha Zero. Now if we as humans can just tap into that knowledge, if our understanding of the game can deepen to that level, then hopefully we won't have to sit through such dry stuff at the top. Don't get me wrong, Magnus is undoubtedly the strongest player we've ever had in history, but it's unfortunate that the bulk of that strength is only seen in grinding out meticulous endings, instead of getting a beautiful show in the middlegame instead. Of course, there are beautiful things to see in the ending as well, but it just doesn't compare to stuff like this.
@@iamh95 true, however for some top end players (i categorize @Witty_Alien here too), to maintain an interest and to still enjoy and love the game, like dubov, they've realized they can sacrifice overall perfection and mix in aesthetics, and either make enough money or be happy enough, because face it, not everyone CAN be magnus carlsen.

OMG ... what an impressive display of hyper aggressive chess! No wonder Magnus Carlsen put Dubov in his team! I have never Nihal get crushed like that! Dubov had seen the queen sac as soon as he put his black bishop on c3.
This is going to hurt Nihal. It also drastically reduced his chances for the title. This miniature reminds of the Anand-Nepo game from the Online Nation's Cup. One obvious looking move and the game completely goes out of control.
Dubov is so Underrated. ..he deserves lots of trophies. ..!! He need opportunities to show his master class strategies...this is the reason why magnus takes guidance from him !!💥💥💥
Hey Nihal ! You must know that "Phineas" Dubov is very dangerous. Best game next time. Indian players: awesome sportmen, excellent people, adorable family 🇮🇳💪
It took Daniil less than a millisecond to evaluate the Knight's move abandoning h7 and exactly 6 seconds to play the queen sacrifice...brutal mate. The truth hurts.
this looks almost exactly like Nihal Sarin and Daniil Dubov at the 2022 rapid world championships. (minus the pressure from nihals bishop on e7 and dubovs rook on h4)
I'm not an expert so pls don't flame me. But after Dubov's Queen H5, why didn't Sarin put his knight back to F6 and defend? Or is it still a lost cause regardless
He should have kept the king in the centre given white rook was already lifted and was on king side. And i felt the g6 move was very loose. Should have tried to exchanging some pieces . Opened the Knight diagonal . It was so easy for dubov. GG ❤️
they also place their kings in the center of a board after that, you can see how did the game end by looking at colors of squares that kings are on, if they are on white/black - white/black won, accordingly, if one is on black and other is on white - it is draw
Even the other board players were shocked with Nihal lossing this fast
He's a bullet and blitz player have so many problems in rapid and maybe even more in classical

Many play like him as well, mamadyraov being one, Aronian at times, Duda
*Dubov's every move are very deadly.*

Wtf that was such a coldblood outplay with style only Dubov can do.
new in chess? study some shortys...
This is just solid prep , Didn't expect Nihal to fall into it even after using so much time on clock.
Nihal seems to be the only one truly enjoying chess. He gets happy even losing if the opponent played well like Dubov did.
Daniil only made eyes move after Nihal pushed the clock :) Strategic :)
Pressing clock doesn't matter. Once you touch the knight, you have to move it.
My two favorite players. Good luck for them!
This kind of game make you so passionate about chess..
I really love the white bar jumping up 😂 3:58
From 4:09 the black suits man's reaction is awesome 🤣🤣

Mate in 3 after that queen move. Dubov always hunt opponent king with powerful attack. As expected of one of most creative player.
actually, it is mate in 4...but I had to check it with stockfish :-) 1. Qh5 Qxh2+ (1... Nf6 2. Bxf6 h6 3. Qxh6 Qxh2+ 4. Rxh2 Bxf6 5. Qh7#) 2. Rxh2 Nf6 3. Bxf6 h6 4. Qxh6 Bxf6 5. Qh7#
Interesting how Nihal has his knights facing each other.
Omg what a masterpiece by Dubov... Holly smoke... This queen "sac"... Damn...

Dubov 🔥🔥🔥4:08 brilliant
Haik is looking from there completely surprised 4:08 😂😂
why didn't Nihal take the E3 pawn at 2:25
maybe e5 is good alternative since equal prior to the sudden knight move which was the only piece defending kingside.
CAME BACK TO THIS BECAUSE OF AN IG REEL, LOVELY AS EVER

putting the black knight back to F6 is useless bcoz white bishop from C3 will swallow it immediately 😁👍🙏
Nihal knew he was doomed as soon as he played Nd5 you can see it in his eyes even though he puts the poker face on
every chess player is eager to know what's happening on the other board rather than his even if his losing

What's the continuation after qh5?
Qxh7 is going to be mate and black can't prevent it. If you take the Queen Bxh7 is mate.

it was still equal prior to sudden knight move which was the only piece defending kingside flank pawns maybe e5 alternative
I often loose as quickly as Nihal Sarin. Makes me so proud!
brutal qeen sac followed by inevitable mate
Qué Dh5!.gracias y Saludos.
I dont understand why the game ended? Can somebody explain to a chess beginner? :)
because they agreed to a win of white. it was unstopable checkmate
they also place their kings in the center of a board after that, you can see how did the game end by looking at colors of squares that kings are on, if they are on white/black - white/black won, accordingly, if one is on black and other is on white - it is draw
If g pawn takes queen then Bxh7 mate
Was this a stealmate?
1. …gxh5
2. Bxh7 #
1. Any other move by black
2. Queen mates on h7 or h8.
4:23 Haik and Duda look interested
I am fans Dubov from Indonesia 🙌🏻
The way Dubov would make quick moves like he is playing a 2000 is very interesting!
Edit: Grammar
Daniil was hoping Nihal would castle into a death trap. He is covering his eyes hoping Nihal doesn't read him
Why didn't Nihal Kill Queen with Pawn?
